1st time i have heard this since my best mates funeral. I was the little skinny white he was a tall fat black but we were best mates and this was our song. RIP Chookie
THE BIG MAN asked Bruce to sing on a song he wrote. The Boss, flying high on his DANCING IN THE DARK album, said FLY ON YOUR OWN. So he got JACKSON BROWNE. A better choice I think. Love this song.
I remember reading that Clarence wanted Springsteen for this number but scheduling( or some other matter) allowed it not to happen. Jackson(longtime friend of both) stepped in....
@Larrymh07 Alto Reed Bob Seger's Sax man. same influences and loves as CC... his stage act/sidekick prescence was inspired by Clarence & Bruce. He was also a fiend of Clarence's as well as Bruce too :) and thankfully he loves playing as much as Clarence did. Thankfully he keeps himself healthy so we'll have him around for many more years. Check out ALto's solo stuff.. almost Identical to CC's :)
I dont know about Clarence Clemons vocals on this I do know that Daryl Hannah did background vocals on this as she was seeing Jackson Browne at the time
I don't really care enough to argue about this. Clarence is a personal friend of mine and of my family. I was upset when I saw some of the posts that people were adding regarding him being gay, not because being a homosexual is a negative thing but because they were saying it in a negative way and in a way that insults him as a person and an artist. If you feel like picking apart what someone says why don't you focus your attention to the people who were putting him down in the first place.
seems like their singing a little too close..but..it's an 80s vid..that says it all...will miss the strong sax playing of this legend..thanks Clarence..RIP.
who cares if they're gay, the theme in the song about having a friend who would go through the fire for you is kinda like way bigger than if so-and-so might be gay...
Best thing Narada ever did was drums for Mahavishnu John McLaughlin on "Apocalypse". A few cuts off "Inner Worlds" were great too. I didn't realize he was on Jeff Beck's Wired, or did work with Alan Holdsworth. I guess the cheese factory has to make some real money, and that he did.
Music icons can be gay and I don't think I ever implied that they can't honeydrops but I am pointing out simply that he is NOT. Everyone should focus more on his music and not his lifetsyle anyway. He made himself famous for a reason and this is in his ability to make the most beautiful music using his sax. Don't try to complicate that with his personal life. As 4oust said, people need to chill and enjoy the music, you should follow this advice honeydrops.
Really,, she sang on this song,, had no idea,, I remember she was seeing Jackson Brown and he was beating her. Jackson Brown is a douch-bag, he's writing love songs while beating up Daryl Hannah,,,,classy guy. But this is a great song.
Ok, is it me? or is Clarence Clemons not really a sax player. This is one of the greatest "luck" stories in modern day music entertainment. Clarence Clemons has yet to play more than 4 bars at any one time, forget solos.
this song was played during the tag team wrestling match when hulk hogan and macho man fought strike force and elizabeth got knocked out and hulk hogan rushed to the locker room and macho man and hulk became enemies after that. bangin memories great son holla
i know who it is, but my original question still stands. Are these two guys homosexuals, i mean it doesnt really matter, but the video sort of indicates that they are.
Clarence and Jackson, two fine musicians. They were better days all round.
This song was my mum and dad's fav song it was there song , until they got divorced in 1987 . Still hurts when I hear it , it brings me back
❤
This was one of those "feel good" type of songs! This got alot of play back in the day! Mr. Clemons...RIP sir, you were a "friend" of ours!
1st time i have heard this since my best mates funeral. I was the little skinny white he was a tall fat black but we were best mates and this was our song. RIP Chookie

Daryl Hannah 😍
Where is a full length decent quality version of this video? This is shockingly pathetic. Excellent song.
you're talking about big man!
They have to be, look how close they sing at eachother.
THE BIG MAN asked Bruce to sing on a song he wrote. The Boss, flying high on his DANCING IN THE DARK album, said FLY ON YOUR OWN. So he got JACKSON BROWNE. A better choice I think. Love this song.

A remix is in order i love this song
The full one's back up, with a picture of Hannah holding a camera... check it out!
I can't find it anywhere.
I'd love to see a decent quality (full) version of this video that doesn't have the fantastic introduction talked over.
you tell him bro...semper fi and come home safe...
Still a kick ass song though.
seems like their singing a little too close..but..it's an 80s vid..that says it all...will miss the strong sax playing of this legend..thanks Clarence..RIP.
it is just for fun! have a good time with it only! :)
a friend
Is that Uncle Joey from Full House playing the piano?
the fraggles
who cares if they're gay, the theme in the song about having a friend who would go through the fire for you is kinda like way bigger than if so-and-so might be gay...
You're damn right!
Is this a training video for kids about being "uncomfortably close" and invading personal space ?
Is there a copy of this clip without the ruined intro:?
is this before or after JB beat Daryl Hannah?
I agree with FEEGUY
If you look at another video of this song you may not see Daryl Hannah.
Songs about friendship are great, but the lyrics sound like these guys are too dependent on one another.
So what if they are? Why does that bother you so much? Grow up.
have u seen the Billy Squire video? lol
IS THIS AS LONG AS THE VIDEO WAS
Does Darryl Hannah steal the show ? Almost great music last
They're really close duet singers. Just saying.
"The Innocent 80's": Dead Kennedys, Slayer, Millions of Dead Cops, Venom, The Circle Jerks, Niggas With Attitude etc etc etc and on and on and on.
check out mybrucespringsteen for a description of a brief conversation I had with the Big Man

Need a better video of this.
Hot Darryl Hannah
Really,, she sang on this song,, had no idea,, I remember she was seeing Jackson Brown and he was beating her. Jackson Brown is a douch-bag, he's writing love songs while beating up Daryl Hannah,,,,classy guy. But this is a great song.
Just kiss him already ;-)
The Mega powers Explode
He was carrying the baton handed off from King Curtis. Who'll carry on?
Easier to say than to do, I think.
narade michael walden isnt gay but he was great drummer back in the 80s
Ok, is it me? or is Clarence Clemons not really a sax player. This is one of the greatest "luck" stories in modern day music entertainment. Clarence Clemons has yet to play more than 4 bars at any one time, forget solos.

Hart foundation,
Happier days for Hannah and Browne as she later accused him of giving her a black eye.
Google it.
Apparently he used to let his fists fly from time to time. JFK Jr was caught consoling her after one of Browne’s assaults on her.
The big black dude is kinda cute.
nice song, but poor sound quality.
i know who it is, but my original question still stands. Are these two guys homosexuals, i mean it doesnt really matter, but the video sort of indicates that they are.
are the two main singers that did this song homosexuals????
yeah and he would beat up girls like Carly Simon
hey, sorry, i dont mean to offend, but r these two singers homosexuals? the video sure makes it look like they are.
i didn't find it gay at all. just two friends having some fun and singing.
Uh....the 80's weren't very innocent. LOL. Any decade can look innocent if you're selective about what you watch. See The Carpenters. :)
This is horrible. Take it down. The audio is appalling and it's not yours. Take it down within 24hrs.
I guess it didn't lol 😀
