I personally like having the halo on while in cockpit mode, gives me the real feeling visually and why wouldn’t you want to have the real feeling visually when in cockpit mode. Tips is to increase the offset vertical higher than standard
In real life you wouldn’t see a full solid halo right in front of you unless you were focused on it. It would either disappear as you focus out in the distance, or you would naturally tilt your head to look around it.
Getting greeted to F1 life as the first thing when opening the game was a real put-off. And the handling of the supercars, Jesus Christ I don't think a game has worse handling than F1 22. The actual F1 cars are fine, it's just the supercars are horrible to drive
HAAS has not been around nearly as long as the other teams. And, the fact that they are still there after 7 years says a lot considering HAAS started literally from the ground up, but they ARE partnered with Ferrari, so I am very confident that their day will come. Medium traction is not ideal for controller players this year. Hitting the full throttle is almost impossible in some corners when you have more than %25 tyre wear. It sucks but I guess we'll adjust ourselves by playing the game. I feel like I cannot drive the car to its limits.
I use a controller these days. With the first few hours on this game I was struggling a lot when putting on power, I would catch myself with a lot of wheel spin and spin out. Just be patient on the throttle and steering input when you exit corners or if you're going through corners. In F1 2021 I was mostly playing on 103 difficulty but am still struggling in 95 in this game.
Yeah its definitely possible to play without any assists on controller and be fast, it just takes time, i used to play on 106 AI last year but havent done a race in this game yet

My.last f1 game with my new thrustmaster tmx was f1 2020. Just bought f1 22 and it is really different and kinda hard to play with a wheel. I like it but it's gonna take some actual work to play.

I'm finding it's super sensitive on a controller now with the new car modes/physics. It's like EA have made it so you now have to buy a fanatec set up to get good lap times. Won't be surprised to find out that EA have money invested in fanatec.
I had the same issue. Couldn't keep the car straight at all and was going off track quite a bit. I ended up turning up the stick dead zone to 15 or so and that helped a lot, so it's worth trying that out if you haven't already
You just need to go to settings and then go to on screen display, then you press osd customisation but you need to be in a race to be able to customise it so just do an AI race and pause it
Does anyone know how to turn off the tire temps because my tires are automatically set to the optimal range on the formation lap and I want to be realistic and have it off and warm it up manually
@@tosehoed123 yeah but on jarno opmeer or the other channels it’s on 70 on the carcass and you have to weave and whatever to do it automatically and mine is on 90
It's heaps better than f1 21 the engines all sound different and cars behave differently if u select that option and there is a different camera angle that is better and true to life the Williams car has no down force so you have to set it up for max downforce.I haven't checked out the helmet selection yet but hopefully they got something from this century 😉
The issue in particular with AC is the AI, pitting, yellow flag system and lack of safety car. RF2 lacks the ability to create any sort of championship. F1 22 obviously can’t compete with them on FFB and physics but there is more to a sim title than matter. I would argue that AMS2 might be the best option but it lacks many current F1 tracks and also no safety car.
@@theodoreschultz4685 Dont get me wrong, f1 22 is a great casual game for people to enjoy the f1 experience. What i talked about is a few (a lot) steps above, most of the people cant do 1 lap without a spin on those mods i talked about. There needs to be something for everyone.

Try to really focus on race line (entry) to open up the corner, carry good speed, and feed power in gently untill the car is moving more. Exits are important!

We are coming rom GT7 after hearing about the infuriating news regarding the nation cup winners not getting paid for competing. So now we are movong to this game. And the TCS in this game is different from TCS in GT7.

3:59 if you are using VR for the cockpit view, don't disable the halo post and don't enable the rear view mirror, YOU SHOULD WANT THE IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE OF BEING AN F1 DRIVER, it will also give you an advantage over the ones who disable the halo and add the rear view mirror, as you will know by instinct where to brake and how to defend as a F1 driver, also disabling the halo post is for cowards, if you do it, is better to use the top view camera

Sounds like you're using a setup too much downforce. If everybody is naturally faster than you even if you're driving in a similar way, it's a setup issue.
Hey James, Formation laps can be activated within the Weekend Structure menu. The session length will need to be set to either Short, Medium or Long to activate formation laps. You can then change between Immersive and Broadcast modes on these laps within the Simulation Settings menu, alongside Pit Stops and Safety Cars. Hope this helps!
I just got my copy and started playing on controller. It takes a bit of getting used to, at the moment the new physics is new to me and basically difficult to drive, more towards the handling.
If you're determined to play with no assists, you'll have trouble. But if you can swallow your pride and turn on automatic transmission and traction control, it plays great on controller
TL;DR: Do not buy, maybe wait for a lot of patches, or a big discount! It feels as if the game is rushed, features were added the community didn't ask for. Long version: Been a long time F1-Codies supporter, stuck through many bugs & releases that were either great or sub-par. But this is it for me at least. It pains me. 1. [-- PC BUGFESTIVAL] It's full of bugs, crashes constantly and it's not even on a different engine/platform. It was also known as many independent (p)reviewer told & acknowledged when they got a build 1 week before release ref: ruclips.net/video/l8pAQl1aMMM/видео.html 2. [+- NO MORE INTERVIEWS] Claire, our interviewer got axed. While I agree she did too much of the same questions, it was a good base ot build upon. Sadly, however, this now is completely gone! Gone is the paddock atmospehere, the immersion of having to do interviews and stuff and the pitlane areas. Isn't that the f1 life, no for EA it isn't it seems... So on one hand it's good the interviews are gone with Claire, but on the other hand they didn't give it the chance to flesh it out and make it more immersive... The lazy route thus! 3. [-- F1 LIFE] F1-Life is forced upon us with the EA-guy that holds the spreadsheet. The F1-Life doesn't add any any value wahtsopever to this game, other than luring in players to buy stuff and fill the pockets of EA. The pricing on it is insane. But it is all useless in game content, especially if you can't walk around in it, is nothing interactive about it. Also, a note, the "life of an f1 driver" is not represented here. As I said in point 2 interviews are a much bigger part, as is sitting and waiting in the paddock areas of the tracks - none of that returns, and isn't that where they spend a lot of time in stead of their flats in Monaco (which would not fit a supercar); or some drivers actually move & live near to the factory... 3b. Why am I complaining and couldn't I just ignore this? This devalues the VIP & seasonal rewards, where you used to be able to get liveries, gloves etc - this now includes furniture and stuff... #IKEASimulator, but rhis is not the SIMS for crying out loud. So yes, of course I could ignore all of this and go racing, but the development time put into this could have been spend elsewhere - like refurbishing animations of pit crews, so they don't get recycled as much. Or build a better livery editor, where at least some decals can be added, or you can choose another FOM 3d model, so you're not stuck with that weird FOM-car nose... 3c. Don't believe me that people did not ask for this? Then... ---- 1. That coming from the studio that once delivered games like TOCA & Racing Driver GRID series as well as DIRT Rally titles. These supercars drive nothing like a realistic modelling, and are way too complex too handle. I'm not saying they have to dumb things down, but they drive like bricks. 5. [-- STORE & GIFTS] At the moment content you received keeps disappearing (eg items from the store), or awarded via the vip tiers or pre-order content & loyalty content. This is a known issue on the EA forums (ref: answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/F1-22-Champions-Edition-DLC-Content-not-on-game/td-p/11591401/highlight/false/page/2). Their response: "can't say whe it will be fixed". 6. [+- STORY MODE & CAREER] Bye bye story mode. I was impressed by the effort made in last years game to make a story. But priority was given to F1-Life and Supercars. As I said before, a story, or refinements in career such as the interviewer Claire being more immersive, asking better questions and so on could have been - but the time needed for that was used to develop other features. So whilst I could agree that a story mode can't be done every year, making your "own" story and getting the "vibe" of living the f1 life is not really on par. 7. [-- CONSOLE PRIORITY / BAD PORT] Consoles get preferred treatment more and more. As it seems that the pre-order launch there was quite ok. And bugs are less likely. The PC-version is suffering. And if that is how they will continue to cater or deliver to PC-users, then I'm afraid no-go. 8. [++ DRIVING EXPERIENCE] The driving experience of the new cars, the core of the game felt ok. Driving without assists is fine with wheels & pedals. But with so many in-game options to tweak driving & audio settings... What is missing is a finer launch control/abs or traction control setting. Why not implement a slider model, where a user can get into it and tune it the way they want. It would make it easier for people with a controller too. Oh, and with all assists off, starting the race is really difficult. I get it, but this seems very shakey. Even the slightest input of throttle spins out your car, and well, that is not how an F1 car works - that part didn't change. Other than that I feel the core driving experience is good. But I mean, they left a lot on the table on which they could improve. 9. [-- REPEATED BUGS] Last but not least... The bug list we all know, bugs that come back every year. Are still in there. Voice commentary (crofty etc..) randnomly goes quiet, or no one says anything lol... Pit messages not coming through. Time glitches where your finishing position suddenly changed... 10. [-- EA Help] EA Support, or lack thereof. I mean, get real community manager. We're doing all kinds of magic things to solve it. Read your bug reports yourself. No other games I play (eg F1 2021 from CODEMASTERS) has this issue with the same gear & setup. So yeah, unacceptable. Unplayable at the moment due to the crashes. Missing a lot of good features from the old games. What a shame.
Yeah I just bought F1 2022 and its terrible on PS5 it feels like a kids arcade game when you compare to Assetto Corsa Competizione. If your wanting a sim like experience on PS5 definitely dont waste your money on it, its rubbish.

I started playing 22 a couple of days ago and I'm having trouble with my rears spinning,would doing the formation lap help stop that from happening?

@Loris try lowering the on throttle differential to 60 and add a bit more rear wing and see if that helps
Yeah same i turned traction control on because the car was un drivable bying in a williams sure as shit made it a lot harder 🤣

Honestly it's just a case of putting hours into the game, once you start to find braking points and such you will find it way more enjoyable.

You should only be on full throttle once the car is settled coming out of the corner, not midway through the corner.

The F1-Life doesn't add any any value wahtsopever to this game, other than luring in players to buy stuff and fill the pockets of EA. The pricing on it is insane. But it is all useless in game content, especially if you can't walk around in it, is nothing interactive about it. Also, a note, the "life of an f1 driver" is not represented here. As I said in point 2 interviews are a much bigger part, as is sitting and waiting in the paddock areas of the tracks - none of that returns, and isn't that where they spend a lot of time in stead of their flats in Monaco (which would not fit a supercar); or some drivers actually move & live near to the factory...
3b. Why am I complaining and couldn't I just ignore this?
This devalues the VIP & seasonal rewards, where you used to be able to get liveries, gloves etc - this now includes furniture and stuff... #IKEASimulator, but rhis is not the SIMS for crying out loud. So yes, of course I could ignore all of this and go racing, but the development time put into this could have been spend elsewhere - like refurbishing animations of pit crews, so they don't get recycled as much. Or build a better livery editor, where at least some decals can be added, or you can choose another FOM 3d model, so you're not stuck with that weird FOM-car nose...

4. [-- SUPERCARS] If I want to drive supercars, I'll do that in another game. Why not introduce and invest in F3 or another feeder series like W-Series. It would also add to the diversity of the list of hire drivers, because at the moment it's quite limited. Because the handling model for these supercars... Well, it is plain bad! That coming from the studio that once delivered games like TOCA & Racing Driver GRID series as well as DIRT Rally titles.
These supercars drive nothing like a realistic modelling, and are way too complex too handle. I'm not saying they have to dumb things down, but they drive like bricks.
5. [-- STORE & GIFTS] At the moment content you received keeps disappearing (eg items from the store), or awarded via the vip tiers or pre-order content & loyalty content. This is a known issue on the EA forums (ref: answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/F1-22-Champions-Edition-DLC-Content-not-on-game/td-p/11591401/highlight/false/page/2). Their response: "can't say whe it will be fixed".
6. [+- STORY MODE & CAREER] Bye bye story mode. I was impressed by the effort made in last years game to make a story. But priority was given to F1-Life and Supercars. As I said before, a story, or refinements in career such as the interviewer Claire being more immersive, asking better questions and so on could have been - but the time needed for that was used to develop other features. So whilst I could agree that a story mode can't be done every year, making your "own" story and getting the "vibe" of living the f1 life is not really on par.
7. [-- CONSOLE PRIORITY / BAD PORT] Consoles get preferred treatment more and more. As it seems that the pre-order launch there was quite ok. And bugs are less likely. The PC-version is suffering. And if that is how they will continue to cater or deliver to PC-users, then I'm afraid no-go.
8. [++ DRIVING EXPERIENCE] The driving experience of the new cars, the core of the game felt ok. Driving without assists is fine with wheels & pedals. But with so many in-game options to tweak driving & audio settings... What is missing is a finer launch control/abs or traction control setting. Why not implement a slider model, where a user can get into it and tune it the way they want. It would make it easier for people with a controller too. Oh, and with all assists off, starting the race is really difficult. I get it, but this seems very shakey. Even the slightest input of throttle spins out your car, and well, that is not how an F1 car works - that part didn't change.
Other than that I feel the core driving experience is good. But I mean, they left a lot on the table on which they could improve.
9. [-- REPEATED BUGS] Last but not least... The bug list we all know, bugs that come back every year. Are still in there. Voice commentary (crofty etc..) randnomly goes quiet, or no one says anything lol... Pit messages not coming through. Time glitches where your finishing position suddenly changed...
10. [-- EA Help] EA Support, or lack thereof. I mean, get real community manager. We're doing all kinds of magic things to solve it. Read your bug reports yourself. No other games I play (eg F1 2021 from CODEMASTERS) has this issue with the same gear & setup.
So yeah, unacceptable. Unplayable at the moment due to the crashes. Missing a lot of good features from the old games.

Yeah I just bought F1 2022 and its terrible on PS5 it feels like a kids arcade game when you compare to Assetto Corsa Competizione. If your wanting a sim like experience on PS5 definitely dont waste your money on it, its rubbish.
