About the practice prgrammes, I think they are all the same except for different circuits have different programmes. But the race strategy one should be in all of them.
What is the difference between One-Shot, Short and Full qualifying formats? Nothing in the game explains them and I can't find any info on this online.
Hi David, One shot qualifying is a format F1 used during the early 2000’s, basically every driver only gets one lap to set a lap time and that sets the grid for the race. Full qualifying is the same format as they have used in F1 since 2006. It’s a knockout system split into 3 sections. The first section (q1), all 20 drivers go out on circuit and have 18 minutes to set as fast a lap as possible. Those who finish the session between 16th and 20th position are eliminated and will start the race from those positions, the top 15 then move through the second section (q2). In Q2, the times are all reset, and the remaining 15 drivers have 15 minutes to set as fast a time as they can. Those who finish between 11th and 15th are again eliminated and they will start the race from those positions. The top 10 fastest go into the final third section (q3, or the top 10 shootout). In q3, times are reset again and the top 10 drivers have 12 minutes to set as fast a lap as possible. The order of this determines the starting grid for the top 10 in the race. Short qualifying in f1 2021 is just a compressed version of this. Instead of 3 different sections, it’s just one session and you have a certain length of time to set the fastest lap you can. The order when the timer runs out is the starting grid. I hope this helps! 😊

Like I mean. I just started a my team career mode but Don’t know what to spend my money on. On what upgrades, etc. I want to make my car faster but not too fast
@@OG-512 I always go for reliability upgrades in my 1st season, almost exclusively. Initially, your parts will start wearing out relatively quickly. Being fast doesn't amount to a lot if your car is breaking down, components are wearing out, and you're taking unnecessary grid penalties as a result. Anything that will net you more resource points, try to prioritize those activities. Once you're able to, you'll need to focus on upgrading your facility levels, which will unlock new upgrades and will decrease the chance of a research project failing.
Balancing aero is so important for straight line speed but also for cornering grip so you don't want the aero too high that you don't have top speed but you don't want it so low that you can't corner as fast.
I don’t recommend using steering saturation when using a controller. I’m using steering linearity at 50 and a maximum steering angle to 270 degrees instead of 360.
If you are in career mode, you can change the length of each race, plus the length of practice and qualifying sessions, right at the main hub. To do this, select the top-right square on the hub and you’ll be able to change the length of the race. Keep in mind that the main race length settings have three options: Short, Medium, and Long. Short races are five laps. Medium events are 25% of the traditional amount of laps, while Long is the full race distance. For Grand Prix events you will need to do so at the Weekend Structure screen.
As my first F1 game, casual does nothing for me. I can't get past the second race in story mode and I've cranked the AI down to 10%. The problem is that the cars handle like shit with a controller. I swear the steering turns around 10 degrees max and any kind of cornering is almost impossible. This game is NOT meant for anyone who hasn't played the shit out of previous versions of the game. I really want to like this game, but I've pretty much wasted my money. I've played plenty of other driving games, but this is the most frustrating driving game I've ever played.
Here me out. Dont hate on me Turn ALL ASSISTS ON. and then give it a try. I was a HUGE f1 fan since 2013, but never tried a game till last year with f1 2020. I really really really wanted to play and have fun. So by the time it was downloading i read some tips online telling me to turn assists all the way or almost all the way down. So i did that, hated it and refunded the game. I was so frustrated. Then I watched a friend play with all assists and then tried my hand. Then I had less penalties and better times(ironic). Then redownloaded it and had tons of fun slowly turning off the assists one by one. Now I can tackle 110 AI with no assists (not bragging just tryna prove that you can be good with assists) So have a go again with assists on.
@@draculableh1842 It was the first thing I did. I turned AI down to 10 I get better handling / time with it on 'standard' than on full 'casual'. This game was not built for a controller. It is meant for a steering wheel. Unfortunately I have nowhere to set up a wheel in the room with my PS4. I've watched multiple 'tips and tricks' videos. They did shit to improve handling with a controller. If anything the 'tips' made things worse. I tried to return the game but unfortunately I purchased it from the Sony store as a digital download. They won't allow refunds if you have downloaded the game. I will never purchase another digital download from them again. I feel ripped off and this will be the last F1 game I purchase. Note that I regularly play Dirt Rally 1 and 2 with a controller. A notoriously difficult game for many rally fans. I have 0 problems controlling the vehicles in that game.

I don’t recommend using steering saturation when using a controller. I’m using steering linearity at 50 and a maximum steering angle to 270 degrees instead of 360.
Honestly I found that 15-23 works well for me. I’m still on a controller
Yeah i reccomend what Tom Waits. I Also suggest trying increasing throttle linearity if u struggle to get traction

Where is the assist settings I’m lost
I cant play whit the Rich feul mix
in the game 😕
How do you pitstop?
Pls someone respond. Why are my races onlu 5 laps? I want to change it but dont know where to do so
If you are in career mode, you can change the length of each race, plus the length of practice and qualifying sessions, right at the main hub.
@@TraxionGG when im on the main hub with the 3 trainings the qualifiying and the race i cant change the race length becouse the option is locked
Dont hate on me
Turn ALL ASSISTS ON.
and then give it a try.
Now I can tackle 110 AI with no assists (not bragging just tryna prove that you can be good with assists)
So have a go again with assists on.
@@draculableh1842 It was the first thing I did.
I turned AI down to 10
I get better handling / time with it on 'standard' than on full 'casual'.
@@draculableh1842 bro I been playing the 2019 f1 game right and the steering on that is perfect I hardly spin out
However in my team I’m on Monaco and I can’t complete a single lap 90% of the time due to ridiculous understeer even with 11 downforce on both wings and max downforce setup. But I go back to f1 2019 and run 6 on both wings with increased top speed setup and it handles like a dream?! Wtf am I meant to do? (I use full traction control and anti lock brakes)
Guys how do I put more laps then 5?
any help on if ur car snaps mid corner or too stiff on turn in
How much fuel i have to put in a 50% race?
How do i change my driver name in career mode im a bit stuck
How do I maintenance my engine after wear and tear? I am at a lost.
No tips here from me :) just started got a wheel pedals and a playseat. Its just fun to learn. Gently turning of assists, and keep on learning. Got more and more respect for the real f1 drivers
Great to hear it! Best of luck with your racing 😊 - John
any idea on how to get the cars to spark like how they do on tv? i've even tried lowering the suspension height and still nothing(literally)
Are you doing this on console or PC? Do you have your particles setting on low?
@@TraxionGG on console. didn't know there was a thing called particle settings lol
Why cant i Change difficulty between Session's how so you do it on ps4
how do i turn them off
Are you allowed to use DRS when you are in first place? What if the car in second place is within 1 second of you?
You can still occasionally use DRS when leading, but you would need to be within a second of a car that you are lapping.
how do i change the tires I start with???
When you go to a race and when you are on the grid before the race start, press square or x (in case you play on xbox) to open up race strategy menu and there you can change it from there. Keep in mind if you qualified inside top 10 , you cant change the tire because of the rule that you need to start the race with the tire you used for ur fastest Q2 time
@@qksf1645 ok thanks
Imagine you've been playing this game at 700 instead of 360 😭
I use 400 cause I like it more than 360, that weird? Hahaha
Nope, the one that feels best for you is the best. I just learned that u could use 360, been struggling with 700 for a while now.
What does this mean?
@@alexalvarado7397 Wheel rotation. An F1 car rotation should be at 360, the car feels more responsive and more realistic that way. So you have to setup your sim wheel to rotate max 360.
which strategy from pit stops should u use because i never played it can u help me
the one thing i cant drive without is traction control :D everything else is off but that i cant turn off
kinda easy just watch your steering angle when you accellerate
@@DuckMix1 it was straight and i spin :D so no steering at all at the point of accelaration. and when i do the acel cautiously then i loose like 2 secodns per round
Here's a tip, don't be a noob and use T-Cam.
thank you for the tips I'm new to the game how do i stop the car from drifting off to one side I noticed when I was going down the straight and it continuously sways to one side constant how do i fix it thank you..👍
How do I short shift if I have auto gear box on cause I got 20th because I couldn't save my fuel in the first race in my team and I started with 5 laps extra
You cant short shift automatic gearbox. Try to save fuel by lifting and coasting
But I think it was a glitch cause I restarted my entire career mode save and I did even lose a tenth of a lap of fuel
Does anyone know why even though i have turned off the racing line there is still a blue racing line because it is really annoying
Is this in time trial? Because you need to go into settings and time trial settings and disable rival telemetry
Hope that helps : )
It worked thanks 😅
Hey how do I get to the assists menu?
the in game main menu.
@@TraxionGG Thank you I found it after I replied. :)
Destruction derby when online racing 😂
Settings are same as last games just don't put your tires to softest all the time adjust per race, also not 50% differential pick 75% now
I use 60% and I find it rotates the car nicely around tight corners without being too over steering but anything lower than that and the car just rotated too much lol
