That's why if you're interested in real artistic and passionate pursuits in music, you dig underground. Indies and no-names are where all the good shit is with just about all forms of art and entertainment. Well, these days, anyway.

    • @AlluMan96
      @AlluMan96 7 лет назад

How I'm using it anyway, Indie is simply shorthand for "Independent." It refers most often to bands that are self-operative without production or publication assistance from large, commercial record labels. The definition stretches from people entirely handling production and publication single-handedly to guys that release under smaller-budget record labels. The general idea of indie is the liberty of the artist, musicians that aren't confined by contracts and creatively tampered with by focus test-minded CEOs.
If you need some examples, the likes of Red Vox, Perturbator or Scythelord count as such. Beyond that, freelance folks like Jake Kauffman could be considered indie musicians, as he is not tied to any corporate entity, rather selling his services to anyone interested.

All these uneducated whippersnappers out here that think Grohl, Barker, etc., are drum gods could use a healthy dose of Aldridge, Palmer, Dunbar, Paice, hell the list of great ones that are still alive goes on and on. Even Phil Collins was a badass, you just didnt know if you lapped up what MTV used to serve.

    I love this version🥰😍
The sky is red, I don't understand
Past midnight I still see the land
People are sayin' the woman is damned
She makes you burn with a wave of her hand
The city's a blaze, the town's on fire
The woman's flames are reaching higher
We were fools, we called her liar
    All I hear is Burn!
    I didn't believe she was devil's sperm
She said: Curse you all, you'll never learn!
When I leave there's no return
The people laughed till she said: Burn!
    Warning came, no one cared
Earth was shakin', we stood and stared
When it came no one was spared
    Still I hear: Burn!
You know we had no time
    We could not even try
You know we had no time
You know we had no time
    We could not even try
You know we had no time
Comin' out of nowhere, drivin' like rain
    Stormbringerdance on the thunder again
    Darkcloud gathering, breaking the day
Nopoint running 'cause it's coming your way
Ride the rainbow, crack the sky
    Stormbringer coming, time to die
You got to keep running, stormbringer coming
The sky is red, I don't understand
Past midnight I still see the land
People are sayin' the woman is damned
She makes you burn with a wave of her hand
    Warning came, no one cared
Earth was shakin, we stood and stared
When it came no one was spared
    All I hear is: Burn!

+Tamsin Mc Cormick Those guys you have mentioned are all pioneers of what is to come - they all come under the same umbrella. Elvis, The Beatles, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and Jerry Lee Lewis is rock 'n' roll just as Led Zeppelin, Guns n' Roses, Deep Purple, and this band are - they are channeling the similar spirit regardless of their level of heaviness (hard rock, rock, whatever the hell you call it) or time period - it is still bloody rock and roll!

I was there too! Man, what a show. Tommy Aldridge still hit those drums harder than most drummers half his age🤘🤘🤘

Boy, these fellows earned their keep! That audience came for a rock concert and they got rocked. Look at the work Tommy Aldridge puts in on those drums, then check out Vampire Weekend or some of that weak shit that passes for rock now.

Wow, I'm not a huge Whitesnake fan but this version rivals the live versions I've heard from Mk III Purple even! It's much heavier and a bit more uptempo, which I think really drives the song along nicely.

but come to think of it i'd say this line up with sykes instead of reb would have been the greatest.

+Alex Ryan IMHO the Marsden/Moody/Lord/Murray/Paice lineup is unbeatable. Sykes is just a show wanker and so are Vai, Beach and Aldritch

The best live cd & concert vid, period. Do yourself a favor and buy the Blu-ray. Tommy’s drumming on “Burn” alone is a veritable drum clinic. (WS: Live In The Shadow Of The Blues)
