    As someone that’s been doing keto/low carb for a couple years now.. I always had cravings for sweet things .. if you’re like me look into the brand choc zero.. they make a hazelnut spread which is even better then Nutella.. 2 carbs in 2 tablespoons.. whenever I crave something sweet I just eat a spoonful of that & for bread… SOLA BREAD which has 2 carbs per slice. .. they make bagels too which have 5 carbs. Those brands saved me from falling off the band wagon so many times. I went from 160lbs at 5’3 to 109lbs & kept it off.

    67 year old fat guy weighed in at 300 pounds when I retired. 1) Stopped sugar consumption. 2) Went on a strict Keto diet for 1 year and dropped 80 pounds. 3) Changed to a 'one meal a day' (OMAD) with Keto based diet. I did 1 24 hour fast per week and dropped another 20 pounds. 3) Started a regular exercise routine swimming 1 hour per day 5 days per week. Dropped another 10 pounds. Aiming for 185 pounds for my 6'1" frame and getting there with ease. Benefits 1) Reset my insulin resistance and became fat adaptive.. 2) Reversed my type 2 diabetes and my blood sugar levels are now normal. 3) Better energy level than I ever had. Mental clarity improved considerably. 4) Arthritis and joint pain subsided considerably. My doctor was amazed at my progress and when he ordered extensive blood work he stated he had never seen such an improvement in such a short period of time. Longevity will likely follow.

    I appreciate hearing Dr Oz, a heart surgeon, weighing in. He didn't speak ill of the diet, but expressed concern for those who do a poor job or cheat - it becomes high fat, high CARB, and we ALL should understand what a big mistake that could be!

    High School Wrestler and then D1 Athlete.. that combined with Army service... I was on and off Keto with out knowing it. Fast forward to near 20yrs in Law Enforcement the first half I blew up to 198 with a reported fatty liver (night shift, beer, fast food, ect). the past 12 years I have gone Pollo Pisco and Keto along with supplements. Bottom line I am back to a lean 165 to 170lbs and basically have a really comparable to the Fight Club Brad Pitt body. I feel great and stay around .3 to .8 on my keto blood tests and my blood sugar stays between 80 to 95. oh yeah... lab work is perfect and clear arteries (cardiology yearly exam).

      @palden4579 11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, I am not a Dr. and I am not a diabetic. But if you don't eat meat, as I do, you can substitute meat with Quorn (based on micro-fungus). I like it a lot. Then, of course, all the delicious rest: Eggs and high-fat milk products, non-starchy vegetables, etc. Fruits: Berrys are more likely low carbs.

    • @HH-gv8mx
      @HH-gv8mx 11 месяцев назад +1

      So difficult when you don’t even eat dairy or eggs or meat. It feels like that whole diet is basically lotta meat and cheese. I feel like I would be eating almonds the whole time and are you allowed to just have as many veggies as you want? Or do they not let you have certain veggies like carrots because they have a lot of sugar in them?

    • @palden4579
      @palden4579 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@HH-gv8mx Yes, I eat a lot of vegetables in all kinds of different forms. Fried, steamed, or I make a Veg. Purree-soup. Avocados and Salats. Carrots, onions, and tomatoes I use in smaller amounts. I don't eat meat and also not a lot of eggs and cheese, but still, I am very satisfied. Did you ever try Quorn? It's Mycoprotein (fungi-form) and this also comes in different forms, meatless grounds, cutlets, and meatless Chikenwings. It's pure and healthy. Anyway, in the beginning, one needs patience; from eating carbs/sugar-based foods to low-carb foods until one is fully in Ketosis, one has to overcome cravings to eat Bread, etc.! But after some time, one really sees the benefits so much! First, these cravings stop more and more, which translates into a calmer happy mind. The pain and aches disappear, and one loses weight of course. The body can get rid of too much sugar in blood and fat around the liver and other organs. The face also looks less buffy and more healthy. When you start, day by day, week after week, you will find out more and more about what to cook and you can eat more than you think now! Almonds have too many oxalates. Generally too many nuts are not good for the body. I wish you good health and hope all the best in any way!

    Folks, keep in mind bodybuilders lift weights to build muscle. Muscle burns fat. Also, keep in mind, meat and dairy contributes to incidence of cancer. Look what happens to many bodybuilders when they get old and stop lifting weights. Arnold Schwarzenegger 4x coronary bypasses.
    John Cena once said “your heart doesn’t know the difference between fat and muscle, it just knows it has to work harder.”
    7 out of 10 people who have or had cancer, their diet is the culprit!
    We are all different, but generally speaking, stay away from sweets (sodas,candy, pastries) and cut way down on animal meat and fat.
    Focus on raw veggies and fruit and plant based protein. Much healthier in the long run.

    • @FrostedZaibatsu
      @FrostedZaibatsu 8 месяцев назад +8

      Quit telling this lie that vegatables and fruit are the way to go. Alot of vegetables are high in carbs (a big problem most people dont know) and fruits are too sweet (high glycemic) this is the downfall of their diet not meats and saturated fat. You have to properly do research about these things.
      Im on a carnivore diet for 2 months, im doing this so my mother and family doesnt have to deal with heart disease. Ive just gotten my blood work finished and the doctor complemented me. Theyve showed multiple body types, heart attacks come for all and sugar and carbs are the culprit , but people like you still think carbs and sugar are just in candy bars and soda.
