My father drank this and I do too to this day primarily due to its cost. I drink it in a frosted glass, 4 ice cubes with an ice-cold water mixer. Yes, give it a minute to rest, but putting the chill to it makes it sing. It reminds me of my Dad, and I like that.
I find a pleasant cream note in this. I am tasting bench mark 8 and colonel Taylor as well in a three way competition I got three handles here just gave my bench mark to a bro. It’s not that bad Uber is such a good taxi service Amen!!!
Just got my first bottle of Ancient age. I'm pleasantly surprised. I haven't tried benchmark yet. If I see a bottle of Ancient Age 90 I'll buy it. Great value.
@Leann J I agree the flavor is good. I did a taste test with people that doubted the quality and flavor because the cost was 25$ for 1.75 Liter! Blind taste test 3 outta 4 people choose AA over Makers Mark
Interesting these ratings up against the AAA10 video. Be interesting to see both in a blind together. Maybe some benchmark editions to make it up to 4.
Thanks guys! I've always passed this one over. I'll have to give this a try. I'll drop some toasted oak cubes in it and see what that does for the color and taste.
@@ThriftyWhiskey I've done this with EW 1783 and Ezra Brooks 90. The improvement was astounding. It really smoothes out the whisky. My son did it with Smoky Mountain Moonshine and made it really drinkable.
No, if you get the baby, you have to buy the next cake. I like Ancient Age and Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star (90 proof). Ancient Age Blended is only "so-so".
These products belong to Age International (Takara Holdings) Ancient Age - straight bourbon Blanton's single-barrel - straight bourbon Hancock's President's Reserve - single-barrel straight bourbon Elmer T. Lee - single-barrel straight bourbon Rock Hill Farms - single-barrel straight bourbon AI used t own Buffalo Trace and I believe the BT high rye mash bill originally came from AI
Wow. This bourbon, for whatever reason, I have always considered to be cheap swill. After your review I guess I will have to try it. For $10, why not?!
You Yankees messed up King Cake’s description…there is no Jesus in the cake it is just a generic baby and whoever gets the baby has to buy the next king cake…no luck involved lol

Ancient Age is one of my favorite budgets, it's amazing!
Best budget bourbon avalible. Keep it on the "DL" , Buffalo Trace will jack up the price! LOL.
I finally finished a bottle of Old Tub(not doing that one again) and started Ancient Age. Talk about a change. What an easy Summer sipper.
Now if you blind reviewed Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star you would be very surprised
Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star is awesome! You guys should try that.
We want to! PA is awful when it comes to having a wide selection. At Christmas when I go visit my folks in Ohio I will be on the hunt for it.
I'm going to give this a try thanks to you guys and your review. I'm glad I subscribed to your channel so I can discover these bourbons.

This is a fine comfortable sipping bourbon. I enjoy this easy drinking dram. But, It may not be found in every store.
YES! Oakmont bakery is the best!

Let us know the results!

Yeah, we have no plans to review "blended whiskey" at this time. Looking forward to trying Ancient Ancient Age once we can get this.

Keep in mind, as we said at the end, if you are looking for bourbon flavors, you may be disappointed. This is on the lighter side of things.
@@ThriftyWhiskey This whiskey is like $20 plus at Specs.
Why??? For Ancient Age or Ancient Ancient Age? 750 mil?

Eh, sorry mate. I was just pulling it from what I had heard. I never heard of it until my wife started working at Oakmont Bakery.
@@ThriftyWhiskey just correcting the narrative. No apology needed, fun fact the baby started as a dry bean to put in the cake cheerio gonna.
good vid. editing is a bit crazy. :) cheers.
Really it's amazing, it's crap😂
Kings cake is a Rip off of the Mexican Rosca. Same concept with the baby Jesus but it’s a Mexican pastry.
Good to know. I only know it from Oakmont Bakery.
