    I use to work for Avery Dennison doing graphics for NFL, Disney, World Cup Soccer, Foot Locker, Adidas and so on. We did the art for heat transfers and the biggest thing I hated about them is the feel of them on a shirt. It feels like a piece of plastic on the shirt and the bigger the design the worse it feels. Plus most people do not go by care instructions and if you dry them too hot then it will wrinkle like crazy and good luck getting it smooth again. If too high of heat you have the possibility of your design coming off since heat sticks it on and heat can take it off. I much prefer the DTG if I could afford it, but at the moment I am only able to do screen print and embroidery.

    DTF is out now. It harnesses white toner and some DTG properties by printing a reverse white layer on top of the design to a film, and using polyurethane adhesive to bond the ink to the shirt. Can be used for a lot more substrates too.

    Why would rasterizing vector art or set of smart layers lead to a more durable product?

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  Год назад

      Hi there! Instead of using lines as a vector file, rasterizing adds little dots (pixels) to the image which makes it easy for the printer to follow basic shapes and boundaries.

    Whats the difference between heat transfer and DTF besides the fact that the transfer paper with dtf has to be dipped into powder. Why is that?

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  Год назад +1

      Compared with HTV, DTF can print finer lines and will not be deformed after high temperature heat transfer. The effect after transfer is smooth, with good elasticity, stretch resistance and good washing effect. In summary, HTV and DTF are different in terms of production process, color, effect, and texture.

      Hi there, thanks so much for watching. It really depends on your business needs. The DTG printer is more of an initial investment but it is more of a streamlined process, which makes it better for bulk orders. 2-step heat transfer with the Luminaris 200 White Toner Transfer Printer is less expensive but us more labor-intensive than DTG, making it more suited for one-off orders. Hope this helps!
