Beautiful! I love the WBMFTTSTNE live Hoedown synth solo. I guess mailny because I grew up listening to it over and over and over. I always imagined what it looked like to play it. Thanks for letting me see it! Great job!!
If my jaw were any more on the floor than it is now, it would take a shovel to pick it up again! That was beyond incredible! You nailed the live version perfectly!
Hiya,Kerry-thanks for your reply to my post-AND for turning me on to your videos.Right now,all i can say is,im completely knocked out.OUTSTANDING playing.Outstanding!I would give anyone credit who would even TRY to cover Emerson-but to do it as well and capture Keiths soulful playing expertly-im floored. This is the first time ive seen you play-and i guarantee it aint gonna be the last, either! As someone who has covered Emerson also(well, air musician style LOL)i have just two words:Spot on!thanks!
WTH I am blown away...you have it man!!! Time for you to make a ELP tribute band, seriously that was the best and pretty much as epic as Emerson's version wow!
Hi Kerry You just really nailed it again...like always..:) You really know how to reach the exact same sound!...you such a really gifted keyboard player... Can't wait to see the 2nd Impression.
Well done, Congratulation! This is one of my favorite songs from my childhood. Although I always prefer to hear the original studio version, I must admit your synthesizer solo is really outstanding!
Kerry this really is fantastic. I've been a fan of ELP since '72 but never had the opportunity to see them live. Do you play the live version of Aquatarkus? One of my favourite ELP pieces.
Thanks for reminding me. I'm working on a couple tunes for Presto Ballet at the moment but I should take time to video some of my finished "solo album" stuff.
A lot of people ask so I should explain my rig on my channel page. In the meantime, all the sounds come from a Korg CX3, and a Yamaha EX5 off camera. The top keyboard is an Emu Xboard controller. The bottom board is a Yamaha P100 piano that I will use for some of the piano stuff when I get around to it.
Thanks. I was hoping to do Karnevil 9, 2nd Impression by now but various things have delayed me. Fanfare would be pretty easy, but I'll probably improvise most of the solo. I intend to relearn Pirates but I don't know if I'll ever bother with creating bass and drum tracks. That would take many hours that I ought to spend finishing up some original stuff.
Excellent again! On a Mini I turn off the keyboard pitch cont switch to osc 3 and tune it to the drone note, then tune down osc 2 . Perfect moog into. Have to turn off and on glide to get the same up/down rates as on the album.
Don't know if he's aware. He certainly has plenty of imitators, but I wonder if he would be more impressed with creative new arrangements than the "historical" accuracy that I tend to go for. I'm just happy to be able to sound like the original, and even happier that other people get some enjoyment from my videos.
Brilliant, Kerry! You definately nailed both live and studio versions. Audiophile55 turned me on to you. (Thank you Steve!) I play the drums, and am also a big ELP aficionado. Unfortunately, WMG had RUclips pull down my 'Karn Evil 9' video, that I think you would have enjoyed. (I still have some other progressive covers up--for now). So watch out. They're really getting aggressive over this alleged copyright infringment thing. Hope they don't go after you too. This is great stuff. 5 stars!
Yeah, I did some tweaking; put quite a bit of distortion on and pulled out a couple higher drawbars a little in addition to the three lower ones..and of course 3rd harmonic percussion and C3 chorus.
Well done, almost perfect especially for one take. Had a friend at Juilliard I went to school with who could play this at 13. Depressed the hell out of all of us and we were all pretty damn good. Anyway, very nice cover. Master P
I've written out very little ELP. I'm not sure of the best place to get a score. The Piano Bench has lot's of good transcriptions but I don't see Hoedown.
I was taught by Carl Palmer (without his knowledge) how to play Drums so, I wish I could've met Kerry along the way = You're very good (but so was I = ha!)
YES!!!! 2nd Imp, 2nd Imp, 2nd Imp, 2nd Imp!! Yes, you had better get practicing for that one, like you told me a few days ago, the problem with that one is ....It's HARD TO PLAY. No kidding!! What's next?........The Fugue from Trilogy??!! Boy these late night RUclipsrs sure ask for a lot don't they? It's a hell of a lot easier to sit here and watch than to.....play 'em. Oh, but I'm sure you like being on THAT side of the RUclips don't you? :)
Many have tried to play this and many have failed. But you nailed it here. Keith would be proud.
I agree i was very fortunate to see Keith 62 times with the Nice , ELP and the last time at the Led Zeppelin reunion concert and you nailed it.
An Aaron Copeland classic. So brilliant!! Thanks for your magnificent musicianship, Kerry.
Sounds just like the '74 live version! amazing job man!!!
Lovely, so good to see there are still people carrying ELP's legacy on !
Beautiful! I love the WBMFTTSTNE live Hoedown synth solo. I guess mailny because I grew up listening to it over and over and over. I always imagined what it looked like to play it. Thanks for letting me see it! Great job!!
All but one of my sounds on these videos comes from a Yamaha EX5. The one that doesn't does indeed come from the Arturia Moog modular emulation.
Just incredible !
If that guy doesn't make a living with music, we should all stop wasting time thinking we can !
I close my eyes and felt like I was listening to the live album "Welcome back my friends...". F*... awesome, way to go, man.
I have this on vinyl if you're referring to the 3 vinyl set 'welcome back my friends to the show that never ends..."
If my jaw were any more on the floor than it is now, it would take a shovel to pick it up again! That was beyond incredible! You nailed the live version perfectly!
Again i have to say your timing is spot on! Not to mention nailing the parts! WOW!
Damn! Just... DAMN! best cover I have heard. Nicely done bro.
Seriously, really the best! Kerry is supreme!
Totally excellent, Kerry. PERFECT!! My admiration and congrats.
- c.a.t.
Super excellent rendition!!! :) Keep up the fantastic work :)
The synth solo does Emerson's muscular keyboard genius justice. I think he'd be honored.
Fantastic Kerry as usual. I would die a happy man if video of the whole of WBMFTTSTNE were to suddenly appear on Yuotube. Keep up the great work.
I’ve just come across this. Absolutely love your version of this. Excellent stuff.
Music = Feelings = Emotions
I always liked the WBMFTTSTNE solo with the Shortnin' Bread and The Girl I left Behind quotes! Well done Sir!
WTH I am blown away...you have it man!!! Time for you to make a ELP tribute band, seriously that was the best and pretty much as epic as Emerson's version wow!
Excellent job. That was one heck of a ride !
Obviously, this man is reincarnation of Emerson!)
Hi Kerry
You just really nailed it again...like always..:)
You really know how to reach the exact same sound!...you such a really gifted keyboard player...
Can't wait to see the 2nd Impression.
There will never be another ELP!!!
WOW, love this Kerry!
Absolutely fantastic!
Wow. Brilliant. Best I've seen of the Keith Emerson like players. Obviously he has the moog sounds midi'd into he's synth, but just excellent playing.
Great cover matey....! Excellently done! Cheers - Graham.
That was really incredible!
that blews me away.
Mille bravos " ça n'est pas trop"
Belle performance .le son en plus est super. J'appréçie d'autant plus que je suis très fan du Keith d'ELP.
everytime i hear this i weep a lil cos i miss ELP and know I'll never be able to see them live.. amazing cover...
Ti si Car! Veliki pozdrav!!
AMAZING PERFORMANCE!
Extraordinary!!
May your soft touch on the keys give you and your expert hands decades of playing joy longer than Emmo.
OH MY GOD!! You are fantastic!
Bravo ! Kerry ! Nicely Done !
Sweet! Long time fan of ELP. Great job man. All your ELP is accurate man!
Dude, that rocked!!
Well done!!!!!! Nice and clean execution!!
Perfect!!!Bravo friend......amazing!!!
Well done, Congratulation!
This is one of my favorite songs from my childhood. Although I always prefer to hear the original studio version, I must admit your synthesizer solo is really outstanding!
Still want to hear your origonal stuff! can't wait! Roy.
This is GREAT.
Awesome job Kerry! Bravo!
Amazing musician!
Phenomenal playing, great stuff.
Superb!!
It's been many years since I played that. Hopefully I'll find time to learn it again.
excellant !!
GREAT JOB!
Great, bravo, nice, wonderful, you played with simplicity a difficult piece.
i love this song and u did it perfect
Fantastic!
I think of Broadway when I hear this: Seven Brides-Calamity Jane-Oklahoma-Annie Get Your Gun etc. Great work Kerry.
Sounded pretty good . Keep rockin 🎙
Great Job!!!! Respect!!!

wonderful i love you play. I love PB band.
Other than the original score from Rodeo I don't know that any is available. Most of the stuff is online at The Piano Bench, but not Hoedown.
Excellent again!
On a Mini I turn off the keyboard pitch cont switch to osc 3 and tune it to the drone note, then tune down osc 2 . Perfect moog into.

WOW. Excellent.
you're GREAT!!! Really good job! 5 stars
Props to you! You got it down, bro'.
Now this guy is good.
Perfect!
Bravo! Complimenti.
Bravo!!!
Closer than this to the orginal , a human can hardly get.
And he made it look so easy.
Thanks, Helgi.
Very well played. A difficult song. The drum track sounds EXACTLY like the ELP version on the "Trilogy" album. Up until the 4:21 mark that is.
Brilliant, Kerry! You definately nailed both live and studio versions. Audiophile55 turned me on to you. (Thank you Steve!) I play the drums, and am also a big ELP aficionado. I would love to see a cover of living sin from the trilogy album.
Master P
YOURE THE BEST
OMG !
I'm betting you and Dean B had a great time playing.....Great playing.
Once again, Kerry, you have nailed it. Unbelievable. You and Keith Emerson must have been separated at birth.
loved the vid .. kicks ass
Awesome!
Figured it would be you when I was notified about a comment today. Thanks, and take care of that voice.
I've written out very little ELP. I'm not sure of the best place to get a score. The Piano Bench has lot's of good transcriptions but I don't see Hoedown.
I have known Benny from time to time. Eventually they all get rusty. The one that I most regret letting go for too long is Pirates..
@89beethoven Close to recording a suite of original tunes. ..about twenty minutes in all so I'll post two or three videos.
Fantastic
Inserted panning in the audio track after I recorded it.
I just noticed you slipped in another compliment. Thanks, Jim.
Amazing :)
I was taught by Carl Palmer (without his knowledge) how to play Drums so, I wish I could've met Kerry along the way = You're very good (but so was I = ha!)
Yeah! the flute solo on that version of Fat Man is incredible.
