Acura MDX Accessory Wood Trim Steering Wheel
In this episode I will be installing the accessory wood trim steering wheel and gearshift lever for my 2008 MDX.

Great video, very informative. I never knew you could remove the airbag that easily. When working in the airbag area even with the battery disconnected.... I always have this fear of it exploding (stupid me).

I have a 14 MDX with leather steering wheel. My german Shepard dog chewed up the original wheel so I found a complete minus airbag heated wheel I need to switch out. Hopefully the 14 is as simple as your year. I am concerned about the cable reel alignment and heard if it’s off you must have Acura re-calibrate it so hopefully I can align the new cable reel without issue. Thanks for the information.
Sorry for your incident! Yes, this should be as straightforward for most of cars. There’s nothing about dealer reel alignment for the second gen, and I doubt there’s one for the third. I would verify it for the third gen, of course, but for the second gen you rotate it clockwise all the way until it stops and then three full rotations counter clockwise until the arrow points up. I hope this works for you!

I have this same car. The steering is heavy & had to get cheep steering wheel cover just to get a good grip for turning.
You probably have an issue with your PS pump. I can turn my steering wheel with one finger even at low speeds on a parking lot. I've also never had an issue with gripping it. Here's my video on steering: ruclips.net/video/w9MadpF5YP0/видео.html

Thanks! I had Grom installed previously. After some struggling to get it consistently to turn on without garbled sound, I got rid of it. Never again :) Unless they send it to me for free, may be.

Thanks! Probably. It’s likely that you might need an additional wire or a different harness, though.
Nice job on the video as always. I really love that you love your mdx as much as I do. If you don't mind me asking what state do you live in. I live in South Philly. You make it look so simple at everything you do. Lol. Also 1 question I have an 09 mdx what size is the glove box light bulb I can't find any info of what it is. Can you make an Instagram for kicks you can take awesome pictures of your sweet ride that you are working so hard on. 👍Thanks
Thanks! I'm in Toronto, Canada. Yes, in the videos most of the time it looks way simplier than it is :) Almost anything I do is what I haven't ever done before yet, so it's always a learning curve. Plus when you film, this makes things even more complicated :)
I don't think Acura sells a bulb separately for the glove box. They sell the assembly, though: 34254-S3N-003. Mine's missing entirely from the previous owner, so I'll be replacing it at some point.

@@AcuraAddicted I am 43 if that makes you feel any better. 😂😂😂 It's a really teeny tiny light bulb. I just can't figure out the size. I have that white part that showing with that picture. You have to have the wire in there that goes to the assembly.
@@edde333 Haha! You are 43? You can't tell from your picture! I'm turning 40 this year.
I wonder if it's the same bulb that's used in any of the buttons. There are several types, though. I actually have a number of them ready for replacing the burnt out ones. I might order that assembly soon and try and see if any of these bulbs fit. Send me an e-mail to acura.addicted@gmail.com so it's not lost, and I'll get back to you if I find out sooner.

Hi, thanks for the informative video. I just did this in my 2015 MDX, but the steering wheel is crooked. Am I to mount the steering wheel a certain way or should I mount it straight?
You probably rotated the steering shaft before putting the wheel back. Plus, 2015 has electric steering as far as I know. You might need to see a specialist.

Your best bet is eBay. I got lucky and got mine on eBay. May be you can do that too.

I have a 2007 Acura Rdx. I'm looking to change out the steering wheel bulbs to blue leds. I saw your video of how to take the wheel off but my question is, when I put the wheel back on and connect the connectors back will I need to reset the airbag or put some kind of code in?
As I say in the video, you need to disconnect the battery first. After reconnecting the battery you will need to enter your radio and navigation codes. There is no reset required.

hey! I have a 2009 MDX that seriously needs some interior clean up. Any advice for repairing the seats and making them look new?
Hi. If you didn’t have any tears yet, vacuum them thoroughly, use a steam machine to clean along with a soft brush and a leather cleaner. Once done, seal with leather consitioner/balm. I recommend Autoglym products. They worked great for me.
@@AcuraAddicted Unfortunately The driver seat has tears on the bottom and is looking worn out.
@@webplayz9650 In that case you either need to get it repaired or replace the cushion cover. If you decide to repair, get a professional to do it if you want it to look good and last long. If you decide to go with a new cover, you are looking at around $200 for it on eBay for an aftermarket one made specificaly for MDX.

Hello Acura Addicted. I want to change the steering wheel on my 08 MDX. I can only find part# 08U97‑STX‑210A which you have mentioned fit 2010-2013 models.
Would I have trouble fitting this part to my 08?
It should fit, I've seen those 2010+ steering wheels on pre 2010 cars.
