Chris, a safety catch prevents the striker (or hammer, as appropriate) from moving forward. In crude summary, which I have effectively used in decades of firearm safety instruction: a safety catch prevents the pointy bit from hitting the primer. It may also (dependent upon design) slightly retract the striker. You gave the definition of a trigger block, as used in the Remington 700, etc; which is euphemistically labeled in catalogues and brochures as a ‘safety’.

I have a Sauer 202 and I would really love a 404. Do you find the back of the bolt and cocking safety a bit chunky? That Steyr SM12 video you did had it in the tang which looked sleeker.
I have a Sauer 404, the cocking safety works perfectly and is very intuitive and quick and quiet to use.
Cocking safety is lot smoother for me over a Blaser R8! Safety aspect is miles ahead of the 202 and main reason i have two 404's
My only complaint is where the put the button to release the bolt - It's not bad spot just hard to press when really cold outside 🤣🤣🤣
I like to buy one..can the dealer send it part by part ..partially?

That's simple, it's more expensive and possibly slightly lighter
Have a look at Sauer's published stats
Think the 404 is lighter but R8 more expensive. If you could choose one for free, which one would you chose and why?

Bin enttäuscht. Keiner jammert über das Blaser-Zielfernrohr auf einer Sauer. Nur dafür hab ich die Kommentare geöffnet 😂
