I've never taken apart a controller before but I didn't want to buy another one. The left thumbstick was acting haywire and causing the right stick to move when it wasn't supposed to. The buttons weren't responsive as they should be. This totally helped me now it's working perfectly.
I just did my dual shock 3, even though is wasn't that dirty, I did go over it with a q-tip anyway, but, when I put it back together, it still wants go to the left and also up, so does that mean that its dead, or do I need to just maybe charge it longer, since it's been over a year probably since I played it
Some controllers are pretty brutal to put back together. The Kong Pro 2 is by far the worst one I've had to take apart and reassemble. I've been lucky with never having to take apart a PS2 controller though from the sounds of it... What did you need to take your controller apart for?
Try charging it for an hour first plugged into your console. Sometimes the controller if left for a long time needs a good long charge before it can even switch on. If that doesn't work then try the battery. Good luck!
@@KeiRetroGaming thx for the tip i will try this asap! one problem i have tho is that theres no LED indication while its connected to the ps3 and ive tested the usb ports with my phone they work!
Hope it fixes it! Two of my PS3 controllers needed a long charge before they even turned on to be paired. The one I had though definitely needs a new battery. Fingers crossed a solid charge gets it up and working for ya!
@@KeiRetroGaming ok so i tried the charging thing but since i dont have the right screwdriver i just googled if i can use my ds4 and so i will just use that! but thx anyway!
Whats a "bumper" ? If you mean the L/R1 buttons why not just say that? Unnecessary confusion. Unfortunately light on detail on the trickiest part, getting the motherboard back in place.

Last time i used them they were just fine, also i usually put my controllers upside-down as to not get dust in them
Have issues with left side rubber, can't close housing...

I took apart a PS2 DualShock2 controller once. THAT was a nightmare.

@@KeiRetroGaming I think I was trying to fix the rubber around the cord with electrical tape? Something like that.
Did you ever end up fixing it and get it to a working state?
@@KeiRetroGaming Nope. There wasn't room for the tape, and I couldn't get it back together properly. It was a loss.
just got one of these from ebay and it arrived totally dead so i guess i gotta try the battery

You tried anyways. The Dualshock 4 is a much better controller overall regardless, enjoy!
