I like each update, and how the progress just keeps getting better, and the property is coming together. I am however, so sorry for the lack of care, from the walk-in closet completion. Since it is Holy Week, I am thinking you won’t see the workers there until Monday, or Tuesday next week😮
Yes, it's holly week so we are giving them a pass. 4 day weekend. If they don't show Monday, then that's another story. In a couple of weeks the projects should be completed and will be in solid planting mode. That's when the property will really start looking nice with all that color.
I love the blue color of the pool! Its great that you can keep Jermel busy with work projects and I’m sure he is happy to be employed there! Seems like he and his family are getting to be like your adopted family there! Also I have a suggestion for you…. Maybe a stainless steel railing down the center line of the pool steps. Just thinking safety for you both and your guests. But it’s up to you! 😮 I continue to look forward to all your videos of you and Wilma’s beautiful home! ❤
Well.... it's obvious I'm going to be out of the contest at tomorrow noon😅😅😅 The low wall accent at the entrance was a great idea. What a blessing having Jarell as a friend, neighbor, and available to help with his talents. Great for you both.
Have you considered turning your couch. This would separate your living room from your dining room while still allowing a direct view of the TV. An added advantage would be that the recliner Wilma was using to face the cool view outside your big windows.
Fantastic result! Looking forward to you major construction cost breakdown. It will tell us if we are realistically on target for what we have planned in the near future. Our visions are very similar.
Greg you might want to consider your direction of travel on the man gate. Opening outward would insure that the bottom of the man gate will not scrape on the slope of the driveway. If it opens inward depending on the distance between the bottom and the step incline of the driveway you might not be able to get fully open without the bottom scraping on the driveway. Just and observation because you comment on all your guest mentioning how steep the drive incline is in person. I going to be curious how your rail and slide system is going to work. Nosey because I’ll need to do something similar except my driveway will decline rather than incline. Love the videos and your sharing your build. So helpful
A French Drain, elevated downward from left to right towards the driveway is now what is needed in front of your gates retaining wall. That way all water is diverted to the driveway opening and nothing is passing through the retaining wall, the gate, its track, and that portion of the perimeter wall.
The house lookin' really nice the couch wow i like the way the exhaust fan look in your kitchen and the gate is lookin' great The pool also are lookin' marvelous esp; w/ Madam Wilma on it Greg your missin' out on it Take care both of you have a wonderfull day
Home looks wonderful! The closet guys are really disappointing but it could be worse. Maybe use the guys to install the closet when they complete the gate. 😊
@@buildingthephilippines not sure batteries will come down further as the demand is so huge with the new rules in Europe to electrify the cars over the next years but interesting to follow the developments, we have 7.5KW solar and 4x 5.3 Kw batteries it works flawlessly
The place is coming along. What’s next after this? Have you thought about putting something over the electrical boxes like artwork may be a door? Do you have contact information for Alma? 🤙
That is a Nice Gate ! will it have the letters W&G or G&W on the front? are Concrete sealers available that are not epoxy ? The Guys that made the Gate can make something to hang a hose on . Wilma in the Pool! Yes!
No initials in the gate. Lol. Not sure about the sealers. I bought a clear epoxy that was the same brand as the one I picked for the dirty kitchen. I figured since it's the same brand, they should bond well together. We will see. We spent a few hours in the pool today. No one around, just the 2 of us.
Great progress! I am curious about Sandy, I know she is an outside dog which is common in the Philippines but once the gate goes up will she be inside the gate at night or outside? Maybe that will vary night to night?
Filipinos are mostly Catholic, and Holy week is observed. It's not like in the US! Another RUclipsr who's documenting his house build in the Philippines gave his construction workers the whole week off during this time.
Good Morning Greg, Congratulations on your new beautiful house! We been watching your videos. We are in the Philippines nowsomewherere on Mindanao. We are in the process of building our house here, could you recommend a good certain kind of hollow block to use? Thanks and have a great day!
Hi Paul, really need to visit the site that makes the hollow blocks. It's all about the ratio of cement to sand. Once dried if you can grab it with your bare hands and crumble it they are poor quality. Good luck with your build, very exciting.
Thanks for your reply. We just met our foreman last night, and he said they will charge us 7,000 php per sqmt for labor. We have to pay for materials separately. Do you think this is reasonable? Thanks.
I know I’m late to the story but did you have to install some sort of water drainage at your front wall for any rains that come down the hill? Just wondering what I’d do in that situation if I built there 😊
Just a point of curiosity…we have noticed the wide array of spelling of the name of your neighbor/laborer. So how is his name spelled? We hear it as Jernel??? He seems so very focused and industrious.
Sort of wondered what the costs were or how you contained them. Was it "I have a dream" then toss a handful of cash at the workers? I miss the process.
I designed the house myself, hired an architect, got it to blueprint, found the lot, secured all the permits and had a contractor build it. Pretty simple process.
I know it’s plenty warm in the PI but how warm does your pool get right now? In California we still need to heat (gas) our pools no matter how hot it gets so that the water is comfy

Thanks Eric.
Looking good
Thank you.
Relax and enjoy your new home 😊
Yes Philip, we are starting to do just that.

Thanks Barry for watching our videos. Wilma and I have been talking about a railing for the pool and the steps down to the garden.
Telling the time of day by where the sun hits…. You’re officially a local 😊
Lol, I guessed 1:45pm. I checked and it was 1:36pm. Pretty close.
That gate looks awesome. It's gonna look even better black.
Yes, can wait to see it painted and installed.
Well.... it's obvious I'm going to be out of the contest at tomorrow noon😅😅😅

Little retaining wall to get the property as level as possible out front. Jernel is definitely a big help.
Happy Easter to Wilma,You and Family !!! Best regards Erwin !!!
Happy Easter Erwin. Thanks for watching our videos.
I like your driveway. Thank you both.
Thanks Charles.
Definitely seal the carport floor… so much better to stop stains.
Good point Mel, maybe a clear coat.
Amazing house, sure your love Retiring to it and be Always happy so congrats to you both...
Thanks Dave, it's certainly been a journey. It's time to enjoy.
Love it , Sweet pool......
Thanks Mike.

We considered it and might turn it from time to time.

Very nice Bernhard. Congrats on your future building project.
I’d def clearcoat the carport, cleaning it will be almost impossible if you don’t, oil stains, etc… the gate is nice
Yes, makes sense to clear coat the carport for any spills. Looking forward to the gate getting installed.
The walk-in would make Imelda smile. 🫣😂😂😂😂
Lol, I'm not sure about that.
Greg & Wilma
Great video. Beautiful home and pool. Love the view.
Looking forward to visiting PH.
God Bless you both.
Travel safe. Thanks for commenting and watching our videos.
I think Hawaiian palm trees would look very nice by the wall fence.
Thank you for the suggestion. We will be going to the biggest nursery in the area to see what type of trees they have in stock.

Yes, we will need to make sure it can swing properly. Good observation.
Have a blessed holy week. Nice living room simple and the couch looks comfy and relaxing.
Thanks Gina, enjoy your Easter. Appreciate you watching our videos.

Hi Anhar, thing's has come together nicely. Appreciate you watching our videos.
Looking great guys, very happy for you!😊
Thanks Rosel.
Love the chair 😊
Very comfortable.

Yes, that's a possibility. They have no concept of customer service
Enjoy your swim. 😊
Refreshing for sure. Thanks.
Easter Friday-Sunday is very important holidays for Catholics.
For sure.
Keep in mind that coconut are very flexible and can act as levers - Not good when aiding the force of the wind
No full sized tress will be planted, just dwarfs.
Your house and garden and pool came out so nice, once you did landscaping what will be your next project? Maybe solar panels and batteries
No solar yet, battery cost need to come way down before we buy.
@@buildingthephilippines not sure batteries will come down further as the demand is so huge with the new rules in Europe to electrify the cars over the next years but interesting to follow the developments, we have 7.5KW solar and 4x 5.3 Kw batteries it works flawlessly

Good job, go team! Good to see Wilma smile too! Be well, be safe, God Bless! 😎☕🙏
Hi Steve, yes I can see Wilmas stress level dropping. Less people on the worksite, closet starting to get done etc. Time to enjoy.
The place is coming along. What’s next after this? Have you thought about putting something over the electrical boxes like artwork may be a door? Do you have contact information for Alma? 🤙
We have a long list of projects. Garden is next. No plans to cover the electrical boxes. Alma is on Facebook. Alma Almonte Fulco.
The small palms should look nice lining the driveway
Yes, need to confirm though that the roots won't be an issue with the driveway and wall.
@@buildingthephilippines I thought palm roots went straight down
I don't know, very well could be. That would be great if they do.

We run the pump only 2 hours a day and our pool is ok
I will lessen the number of hours a little at a time.
Big changes since I last was able to watch back in January.
We have come a long way since the first of the year. We moved in day 184. It's been a journey for sure.
@@buildingthephilippines Congrates. Looks great.
Great progress! I am curious about Sandy, I know she is an outside dog which is common in the Philippines but once the gate goes up will she be inside the gate at night or outside? Maybe that will vary night to night?
Yes, probably vary as she sets off my alarms at night. Inside during the day and outside during the night. Not exactly sure yet.
Maybe workers will show on Tuesday, because Monday is holiday also
Wow, 5 day holiday. Never seen a holiday with so many days off.
Filipinos are mostly Catholic, and Holy week is observed. It's not like in the US! Another RUclipsr who's documenting his house build in the Philippines gave his construction workers the whole week off during this time.
Hopefully he paid them for the week.

Thanks for your reply. We just met our foreman last night, and he said they will charge us 7,000 php per sqmt for labor. We have to pay for materials separately. Do you think this is reasonable? Thanks.
Not sure as I paid per square meter all in. I'd check around though before you commit.
I know I’m late to the story but did you have to install some sort of water drainage at your front wall for any rains that come down the hill? Just wondering what I’d do in that situation if I built there 😊
Yes, we have 5 weep holes. I'm actually getting ready to improve the drainage in a future video soon. Hope you will watch it. Thanks for watching.
Where's my guest room?
It's almost ready. Furniture delivery next week, jacuzzi the week after.
On the side of the driveway close to the wall, perhaps fruit trees? You are not obstructing your view on that side.
Yes good idea, we just need to confirm that the roots won't be an issue with the driveway and wall.
Just a point of curiosity…we have noticed the wide array of spelling of the name of your neighbor/laborer. So how is his name spelled? We hear it as Jernel??? He seems so very focused and industrious.
It's spelled Jernel. Very hard worker. Thanks for watching our videos.
Everything looking good except for the disappointing closet guys , I guess you should have asked for references
I'm sure most businesses here don't even know what that means.
Sort of wondered what the costs were or how you contained them. Was it "I have a dream" then toss a handful of cash at the workers? I miss the process.

Thank you
👍👍🙏🙏❤️❤️🇸🇦🇸🇦
Thanks.
You forgot to mention when the housing warming party is.
Lol, we are having one once we get the garden completed. They call it a house blessing here.
BLACK SATURDAY
Long weekend for sure.
How much is your build?
I'm putting together numbers and will do a cost video in the future.
Walang imposible sa me pera🙇♀️
Wilma translated for me. Yes, anything is possible. Thanks for watching.
Ya god takes the week off on holly week, so if you have an accident you don't heal. Duh, you didn't know?? Lol
Now I know when I cut myself shaving it takes so long to stop bleeding. I need to start taking some days off.
A lot of hand acting
I guess I'm bored, need more projects to keep me busy.
I know it’s plenty warm in the PI but how warm does your pool get right now? In California we still need to heat (gas) our pools no matter how hot it gets so that the water is comfy
No need to heat the pool here. The sun is definitely more intense here as we are closer to the equator.
