I loaded Nesbitt trucking for years , worked in the Quarry industry for over 20 years , now I just bought a truck and set of trains
Which is now Grace if I'm correct?
Lol “I sell propane and propane accessories” had me laughin
Looks like a great day to look outside and go back to bed!
Lmfao love the cb chatter gets me everytime 😂
for a youngblood, he's got a well stocked skillset. I dragged fuel joints around the GTA for 25 years and his skills are far and above what most drivers pulling a dryvan will ever have. That said...after working tanks and skateboards, a dry van looks massive in the mirror. Kudos to ya kid, and even more so, the attitude....someone best be proud of you.
I’d be petrified of driving a rig like that in those conditions.. props to you
Super cool video 🖐️👏👍🥰
You sir are a calm and cool customer! And that is why you’re a professional. Thanks for the ride along brother. Hope you had a merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🎊🎆 😎🤙🏻
Je suis français chauffeur a la retraite j'aime bien tes vidéos respect pour ton calme malgré des situations difficiles. Continue comme ça et bonne continuation.
You have the patience of a saint haha
Fuck man!!! When you came out with Hank Hill I spit my Pepsi out and smashed SUBSCRIBE🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cinders works wonders
glad i live in Australia lol
I grew up in rural Australia where everyone got a wave.
@ 12:58 That CB was perfectly timed 🤣🤣🤣
Love CB talk 😂
if i close my eyes when i watch your videos and i hear you talk i see the face of david hasselhoff infront of my minds eye. i dont know why i never heard him talk in english since i only know whis german voice-over. ^^ great videos, i like your style!
Blows my mind that chains are illegal somewhere in Canada lol I live in BC and we need to have a set on board from October on
Yeah but the lights only come on when its bare pavement and slush and CVSE is bored. 3 am on the Kootenay pass in 10 feet of snow....... no chains required
that cb rage is for real .... just found the channel, binging the truck vids right now. great content!
Thank You Matt seeing this video makes me feel good about being retired from trucking and living in Texas LOL oh I have chains ( had chains ) and had to use them to move on the interstate I also slid down a hill backward with a loaded dump trailer what fun ,,,,,,,oh I also pulled a hill loaded dump trailer standing up with paddle to the floor holding on for dear life made it to the top,, clutch was very unhappy with me Hehe, has Gizmo got to run on the new homestead
Happy new year Matt! Stay safe and warm on the road! Watching you getting stuck was anxious but CB radio cheered it up haha.
Merry Christmas and happy new year. Sitting in my truck waiting for my son. Tee shirt weather in Florida. Much ❤ Florida Grown Gma ❤
I have wondered for a long time why dont american trucks have a liftable 3rd axle. I drive a truck which is 6x4 but you can still lift the back axle, makes it so much more manoeuvreable in tight spaces and if it is slippery you get more weight on the drive axle.
Nice to see another one of your vids Matt, stay safe out there! i really enjoyed it!
Happy New Year, Matt. Another great video.
Lol that one guy on the CB has no chill. Hopefully his driving is more calm
Great video, Keep them coming, Hello from NZ 😀
That motor sounds great.
Man i like your style..kinda 80s style..love it dude
👍👍👍🥂 happy new jear 2023
Get out, uncover the snow on the shoulder, get about a half a five gallon bucket of that loose gravel and spread it out in front of your drives for about six to fifteen feet.
This will give you the traction you need to get yourself moving again with just enough room to build up a little momentum to keep going.
You might think I don’t know what I’m talking about. Trust me. Try it sometime and as long as you have a general touch, a very light foot and don’t just gun the truck and spin yourself into the ditch. You just might be surprised.
Yup I was working (Napanee flying J) we got lake effect snow on top of the storm. And we got 6 plus feet snow drifts.
I got stuck in that same spot going to triple H...road hadnt even been touched.....unloaded my rear mount Moffett hoping for more traction....nope....had to wait for county sanders and plow
Every day something different
All the best for the new year from the land of Aus👍
Pull Super B in the Alberta Canada Roads can be as much fun as pulling teeth without any anesthetic. When your empty and pulling 5 axles through snow a joy, and if you can't keep the train straight slipping backwards it's a no win situation BUT chain up axles and hope you have enough weight on Drive Tires
Yo first time viewer, love the pov cam especially with a b train 🤙 I'm abouta dive into a bunch of your vids. Keep it up!
Wishing you a "groovy" 2023. Be cool-be safe!
You are a brave man!
God bless you....
Roll on...
:)

Your a HELLA good driv,ah for a young blood keep the wheels rollin buddy HAPPY NEW YEAR. Did you end up buying this rig? Hope your house is coming along great as well..
happy new year buddy and stay safe.
Luv yr channel brother very much a pro brother.
i just dont understand why truckers not saying all but some have a problem with using chains in these conditions.... i mean they help keep you going and drive safely.. thank you for the ride along it was fun and enjoyable....
Southern Ontario you’re not allowed to chain up, the idea is they keep the roads clear enough in the winter that ya don’t need chains. The rare case that it does get bad (worse than this) they just basically say “don’t drive” 🤷♂️
super
Carry a pail of wood hashes, it works much better than sand. Spread on wet tires and on the ground. Doesn't take much to get traction.
Lol at the Tesla at the end. Typical. They aren't the brightest bunch lol
next time, diff lock + chain up trailer :)
All the best in 2023, no traffic jams, no breakdowns, no outages, no issues with injectors, turbos, tires and breaks !
You ever try putting a sponge between the long and round mirrors in the winter does help with winter moisture build on the mirrors.
I’ve actually never heard of doing that!
Yeah I parked her at home just before the storm started. Didn't want anything to do with it. As for the spinouts, you wonder why more drivers dont go crazy. Am I right? Glad you got through it though.
Well I can tell you from experience that chains wouldn’t have helped you lol. Funnily enough, the one time I’ve pulled chains out and put them on was in the US. I got caught in a snowstorm in Duluth, MN empty, like you were in this video. I put all my chains on and it still wouldn’t get me up the hill. I eventually flagged down a pickup that was willing to tow me up the hill, and at the same time he showed up a police cruiser showed up and put his bull bar on the back of my trailer and they both got me up the hill. I was very happy they stopped to help me!
Hey driver. How was your Christmas. Good I hope. ❤ from pnw oregon
Hi, I’m Frank from Germany
I’m bloody glad I don’t have to deal with that White stuff you got. Buggar that!!!!!
Never drove a semi on slick roads the seem to go pretty good
"got chains?"
I know its less hilly out east, but I feel like carrying at least 1 set of triples or singles would help with those ice-y inclines.
Yeah chains would be nice but they’re not allowed in southern Ontario, plus they would destroy my fenders lol
I'd be driving slow asf on that ice lol.
Carry some granola bars with you they’re always good in a pinch
I didn't realize how similar CB radio is to pilot chatter
the grate white north
Can ́t you put snow chains on tires? Like truck drivers do
That Cat really sounds good loaded up. Do you have Diff locks?
Yep diff locks activated!!
Bucket of salt in the box. Always.
Most of the question around this storm was.. where are the plows. That is what I have been hearing most of the time. But I guess when you have less numbers of worker their is not enough on the roads to keep them clear
If I remember correctly it was quite surprising to get the weather we did in this area at that time! It did get cleaned up eventually though
It's time for a set of tire chains ⛓️ here in BC. You have to have chains.
Yeah would be nice but they’re not allowed in southern Ontario 🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@callthemall Wow really didn’t know that 🫤 so all you can run on the truck is a drive tire that is sipped or winter tread.
How many miles/km does your truck have on the odometer? Confused between the sub 2 million on the right and the 300k on the left
It may be my ignorance on the matter, but it seems like in Canada they don’t force you to use chains as much as they do in the northern U.S ,especially in the northwestern U.S., like on route 80.
Yeah, no chains allowed in southern Ontario, I guess they’re worried it’ll eat up the roads??? 🤪
Anywere there is snow especially a b-train should have chains
they should sprinkle the hill with some small aggregate the last incline is bad
il be honest that constant cb chatter during this would of made me lose my shit lol
Ethel, cover your ears. Seems that a lot of expletives on the radio this morning. 😅
what E LOG are you using ??
Do you go up Highway 12 a lot? I'm originally from the small town of Sunderland that you would have bypassed, Highway 12 used to run right through Sunderland.
Yeah often enough I guess!
When I watched the video of you getting your rig stuck on your folks farm in the mud when you bought your brand new trailers, it made me wonder, with the custom wheel well fenders you have on each individual rear tire that practically covers the entire tire on your truck, how are you able to get chains on your tires because there looks like there is no room in between the tires and the metal wheel well fenders you have on your rear drive tires? Do you ever use chains at all or do you not need them or drive in mountainous terrain on your routes?
I’m Ontario only authority and chains are not permitted in Ontario so no chains for me!!
New trucks costing high $200,000 to low $300,000, if you have a wreck your insurance you might never get again, and it'll most likely be 3 to 6 months before your truck is put back together so you can make an income once again. Nope my equipment is parked in bad weather.
Best advice there is! Honestly it wasn’t supposed to be this bad in the area 😂
damn !!!!!! turn that radio down
What GPS do you use on your phone?
Google maps for most things but my BigRoad elog also has maps
I've never driven in Canada before, but if it's anything like Wyoming or Montana during the winter, (I'm sure it gets a lot worse lol) y'all have my eternal respect. 🫡 It can be pretty fun to drive in the snow, but the other day I tried parking at a rest area to do my 30, and as soon as I set my brakes the truck started sliding down the hill. I hadn't realized there was ice, but it was nice and slick. I was able to get traction in the snow on the side of the shoulder near the sidewalk, crept my way down to the ramp leading to the interstate, and never looked back. I don't really care to do that ever again. 😅😅
Haha yeah it’s a different beast in the winter!!
I ran eastern Canada for years hauling John Deere, and no... Wyoming has Ontario beat for terrible weather. 60 and 70mph non stop winds, blowing snow, whiteouts, Wyoming is way worse.
@@TheRoadhammer379 interesting. Do you think that they're just more prepared for the winter up there, or does terrain have that big a big role to play?
I know when I was a new driver the winds in Wyoming freaked me the heck out lol. Kansas, Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle can definitely push it too lol.
@@connorbaz5980 I run doubles across i80 daily. Its a lack of funding for our roads/maintenance crews, lack of population and extreme weather. We're over 20 plow drivers short(horrible pay and laid off in summer usually) paired with high wind, high snow and lots of steep terrain it leads to a lot of issues with blowing and drifting snow which then creates big stretches of ice on the road. I was running a set of empty doubles and hit a stretch of ice at 15mph and both of my boxes were at a 45+ degree angle due to the wind just pushing them on ice. Barely made it that day.
@@joshuakosiba2640 we've probably passed each other without knowing it multiple times lol. i-80 was one of my most active routes. Ran Central out to the West Coast, back on through to the East Coast and back to home base.
Thanks for the explanation too, that definitely all makes sense. If I lived up in the more northern climates, I'd definitely consider driving a snowplow. Sounds like you got this thing down but still, be safe out there!
The most unfortunate thing for me is that I didn't have to worry about the roads as much as I did the parking lot at the Flying J in Rawlins. Slipped on the ice there a few months ago and caused a bulged disc that later turned into a full blown herniation on the trip home. Rough roads and shot suspension that your company is too cheap to fix don't mix well with herniated discs.
Been bedridden now for almost 2 full months. Not fun at all. 😅
Anyway, sorry for rambling. Just get kinda bored around here staring at 4 walls and a ceiling all day.
Boy when the white stuff hits it sure gets entertaining on the fuckin cb , I get it all the time when I get up in the mountains here in bc it can be a real shit show but my old kw gets er done no matter the weather 30 tons at a time
✊👍🎆🎇🎄🙂
I didn't think you drive your car in the winter or is this your truck
Yeah this is the pickup truck
@@callthemall just the mirrors threw me off but I guess Dodge is also come with the non-tone mirrors
s***** third gen Dodge with cheap Interiors
man even a cheap set of singles in a bag from a truck stop is good for those moments when you just need to regain traction
EDIT read the comments and see that Ontario it's illegal to have chains
I'm not a trucker so I'm sure I'm missing something... but isn't that why you have chains?
Yeah chains would have helped but they are not allowed on roads in southern Ontario, plus I would have to change my fender setup to make them fit
@@callthemall not allowed? wow I had no idea there were places like that. You'd think they'd put safety first. thanks!
Maybe you should learn what chains are
Is vax still enforced for CAD
centimeters? I thought you were in Michigan.
We have centimeters in Michigan, we call it 1/4”. He crosses into Michigan for some loads.
Yep based in Ontario Canada but cross into Michigan for loads sometimes
Times like these, turn down the CB because so many got so much and so little to say.
Can I get an Arabic translation please
Great Video driver. Keep safe!! Check out the Channel Fourth Over! He hauls Logs in the foothills of the Sierra’s in California. He put together a beautiful 2022 Kenworth W990.
G’day mate I’ve gotta be asking you one stupid question. Why the hell do your truck drivers have shit? Loads of echo reverb on the CB transmissions does not make for good communication I wouldn’t think.
Yeah I don't get the reverb either! Sometimes it can be so hard to hear what someone is saying
@@callthemall 😂😂😂😂 indeed. BTW if my comments don’t make sense it might be I’m stupid or it might be Siri messing up the dictation
Put your camera on a tripod makes you dizzy watching
