Had the liberty of seeing this band 20 years ago in a small bar in Toronto and they sounded great. Good to see they're still around keeping the doors music alive.
I'm thrilled you're still digging it, Ash! I don't think there's any band out there doing it better than Strange Days! I hope that any and all Doors fans find their way to this group to see that music in a live setting!
FINALLY!!! Someone finally does TOTAL justice to the memory Jim as a performer. I have never in my life seen or heard a doors tribute frontman who was even halfway convincing. Jim just had so many subtleties that are anything but easy to mimic, Aside from having the BEST scream in the history of R£R..... There was his plethora of live improvizational poetry.... His unique rain dancing & of course his honest, sometimes comedic, sometimes stand- offish, most times unpredictable engagements with his audience..... But our frontman here , our Strange Days frontman here, has literally nailed his channeling of Jim down to the floor with a two+ton fucking sledgehammer. And I don't mean, he kinda has it down......I mean, The Iconic scream: ✓ The vulnerable & abrasive croon: ✓ Physical mannerisms✓ Sense of humour:✓ Audience interaction:✓ Dancing:✓ & even Jim's unique speaking voice.... ✓✓ When you see these guys play.......you get the Jim that you as a fan want & deserve. I implore ANY & ALL other Doors tribute bands the world over to please stop............ because, the fact is.... STRANGE DAYS has got it covered as it is Odvious that The Doors are still here with us, entertaining their fans everywhere they go & they are doing it...... Through STRANGE DAYS: The One £ Only DØØRS Tribute•
Wow, spot on, and he even had Jim's sarcasm. I tricked my mate. I played a few songs of this, just the audio and said it was the Doors, didn't mention it was a tribute band, and he was amazed when I told him this is actually tribute band. Best Doors tribute band I've ever heard.
+Mark Bullock That's a huge compliment, Mark! Thank you so much, It really is a tremendous honor to be able to play this music with such dedicated and talented musicians. I don't think I've ever heard anybody as spot on as Jason when he sings these songs, and that's not just because I'm in the band. This is some of the best music ever recorded in my opinion, and I'm so happy to be able to play it in a live setting for people who also enjoy it.
I'm so glad you dig it, man! I miss playing drums in this band, and am incredibly proud of my time with them! I'll definitely pass on your nice words to them! I know they'll appreciate it!
I attended a show by this group in small city of Yuma AZ not expecting much but being a Doors fan I decided to go and WOW!!! It was like listening to The Doors live! I strongly recommend this guys, you won’t be disappointed.
STRANGE DAYS lights my fire!!watching you live is transcending !i know life sometimes pulls you different directions but I hope you boys stay tight and intact&continue kicking ass and never forget about the local fans!♡♡♡ :)
+Lelein Alvarez Oh, most definitely Lelein! I'm hoping to stay on as the drummer for Strange Days and still be able to play a significant number of shows with them. I've been working on setting up a couple different subs for me whenever a gig with Led Zepagain conflicts, and one of the guys I've been talking to played with Janis Joplin in the Kozmic Blues Band and knows John Densmore (and is a killer drummer), so he'd be an awesome addition to the group whenever I can't make it :)
Holy mackerel ! It's like listening to the real Morrison.. Great job guys ! You guys have to make your way to Montreal Quebec, as Montrealers are the biggest Doors fans in Canada..
+blica 1 That's good to know! I totally agree about Jason being the most accurate Morrison out there. He gives it everything he has ever second of every show. It's a real privilege to be able to play The Doors music with him, as well as the rest of the band :)
+Bruce Wayne Indeed! Where are you guys located? Weren't you right around Santa Fe Springs if I remember? Somebody on here was close to that venue, and I can't remember if it was you or not. Anyways, I'm definitely still going to play as many shows with Strange Days as possible. We're working on finding good subs right now. Fortunately, one of the guys we have is named Maury Baker, and he played with Janis Joplin in the Kozmic Blues Band, played in a band that opened for The Doors back in 1968 at the Fillmore East, and still knows John Densmore. He's going to be a good fit! :)
Think he'll ever come again in a different way, And maybe he's come and gone while I was away, Too much goodness is a sin today, I'm checkin' out the show with a glassy eye , Lookin' at the sun dancing through the sky, Did he come by U.F.O. ......JIm Sullivan 1969.
I would love to see these so i can judge properly but this guy sound like Jim Morrison from the live albums which i prefur rather than the studio Jim, the best I've heard going off the videos ive seen and he has a great scream. Come to the UK
I'm biased because I was in the band, but I think Jason Tosta is the best Jim Morrison out there. The dude's passion, knowledge and ability are unparalleled. He's got the warmth and range of Jim's voice above and beyond anyone else I've seen in the role. A lot of dudes are incredibly talented and look the part, but don't necessarily have the vocal range on stuff like L.A. Woman, Love Me Two Times, Moonlight Drive to completely pull off the part. Jason has it all...
@@KickItLikeBonham awesome I presume you no longer play in the band. From what I've heard of them by a country mile the closest ive heard any tribute band, I was listening to a video of them doing hello I love you and he sound absolutely spot on he has really work on the vocals to sound as close as possible how words are pronounced and like i say he sounds like the live Jim which i think is great. I just wish they would make it over to the uk. Id like to hear some live recodings mixed in with some original doors live music to see how well it blends I bet some people wouldnt be able to tell the difference
+Drunken Steve Thanks so much, Steve! I love getting to play this music with these musicians! It's a real honor to play the music of The Doors with these guys!
I'm not with the group anymore, but they're still good friends, and I know they haven't stopped performing. I'm not sure why there aren't any dates up on their website, but if you're on Facebook, you can see upcoming shows listed there is you search, "Strange Days Tribute."
+luiscurtolo We just got back from a three week tour in South America. We played shows in Chile, Paraguay, and Brazil. We're hoping to expand to Europe as soon as possible...

Identical voice
Fucking Awesome
Ricardo Cesar Hell yeah man! These guys are damn good! It'd be great to see them, but I doubt they'd ever make it to Eastern Iowa.
As a Doors fan for +35 years, and a gigging musician for much of that time. very enjoyable tribute. thanks for posting..I'd pay money to see the show.

I saw the Doors live in Long Beach, CA Feb 1970. These guys are about as close as you're going to get to the originals! They are really good!
oh yeah.... these guys TOTALLY GET IT alright !!! they really get Jim and The DOORS ! brilliant ! well done fellas !
Light my Fire wow, this is some serious music man, they do it professionally no doubt. The singer sounds I would say identhically to Jim Morrison.

I just found this through a mutual friend. I'm blown out at how much you resurrect my beloved Doors!! Jason, no words.

This seems like a phone recorded show. I can see the amazing performance but isn't there any good quality video ?
The're opening for who?
Better light show than the original doors! Musicality spot on...
Thanks so much, Fidel! That is a tremendously nice comment!
Sure they are good but can the singer sing like Jim would of sounded in his 70s
Awfull
Said no one... ever.
