  • First and foremost, a huge thank you to all the people who filmed and uploaded their footage. I'll have a complete breakdown of the source material for the final release.
This is a preview of a project I've been editing together off-and-on for a couple years now. This is the Led Zeppelin Revival feat. Mr. Jimmy performing Heartbreaker in the style of How The West Was Won 1972 Led Zeppelin. Soon enough, I'll release the full show. The timing seemed appropriate to try and finally wrap this project up; the documentary on Jimmy Sakurai and his lifelong journey to recreate the live performances of Jimmy Page is about to be released in theaters! It'll be neat to see the spotlight deservedly shine on a guy who has worked tirelessly to recreate that "edge of insanity balanced by beautiful bucolic bliss" of Jimmy Page and a live Led Zeppelin show! You can check out www.mrjimmymovie.com to see if it's playing anywhere near you!
This particular show was dedicated to the memory of Frankie Banali, a dear friend to Jimmy, and Sandi Oba, Jimmy's friend and manager. The night also acted as a fundraiser for singer August Young's parents, who were recovering from a catastrophic car accident. Despite the sorrow that brought the event together, it turned out to be a fantastic time, and considering this is arguably my favorite official live release of Zeppelin, I'll always jump at a chance to perform How The West Was Won in a live setting!
I'm excited to finally get this show edited and out there. August and Jimmy is something special together, and I'll gladly do my best to honor Bonham's parts and energy the best I can along side them!
    More to come...

The attention to detail is remarkable. They replicate the way that Led Zeppelin played this song in 1972. In 1973, Heartbreaker was typically played completely differently, replete with a Bonzo intro and a stupendous segue into Whole Lotta Love. These guys have very carefully studied the music of Led Zeppelin. Furthermore, in 1972, this track typically followed the opening number, Immigrant Song. In 1973, Page used this track as an encore.

Thank you for uploading this. Excellent tribute band, especially Jimmy Sakurai and the drummer. Don't get me wrong, the bassist and vocalist are also very good 👍

I mean it's the closet you're going to get to the real thing man. Absolutely astonishing.
Every lick of guitar (and most drums) from the Song Remains the Same and How the West Was One has been forever seared into my mind. This recreation couldn't be any better, on all counts!

I've been watching your videos for a while now and didn't even know you were drumming with Get the Led Out until today. I went to see the show a week ago at the Orpheum in Los Angeles and I was absolutely blown away. You killed it on the drums and it was awesome to see the Moby Dick solo live. The whole band was amazing and I just want to say thank you 🙏🏼 keep up the incredible work

That's awesome to hear, Tomas! The Orpheum was a great time for us, and I was especially proud of that one because it's as close to a 'hometown' show as I'm going to get (being from California)! We have five more shows to go on the tour, with tonight being in Salt Lake City, and then I'm looking forward to getting home and working on some more videos for this drum channel! 🤗 I'm definitely glad you had a good time, my friend! I really appreciate you taking the time to send the comment, too, because that does make it all the more neat to how this RUclips channel and the real world get to meet every-so-often! I hope we get to cross paths again, as I owe you a handshake and nod of appreciation for your kind words!

As someone who had the great privilege of seeing Led Zeppelin in 1971,72,73,and forth and final time 3/5/75 in Dallas just want to thank you guys for your remarkable attention to detail and giving people the chance to who never had the opportunity to Led Zeppelin a chance to see as close as it gets.

Hey it's so great to see you right where you should be as part of this sensational Led Zeppelin tribute!!! We spoke many years ago; I remember being absolutely blown away by your dedication to drumming and in particular just how much vigour and love you have put in to playing just like our beloved Bonzo. There aren't many on the planet who can carry on with the legacy of John Bonham. You do it with the same fury but also adding your own unique style and soul and it's absolutely epic. Keep rocking Sir!

"Mr Jimmy" is awesome. My biggest influence, James Patrick (Jimmy) Page!!
Question, who's the singer? On SOME older videos, it's someone different..
Is this seen here, the current singer?? Both guys are awesome, just to mention.. thanx!!

Anything specific? I just went and watched it again, but nothing in particular stands out. Are you talking about how we go to the breakdown a measure early / during the vocals, as opposed to the studio version, where it waits until the vocals are done?
