They were teenagers, and always wanted to change it, and so when the time was right for them, they did. They are extremely strong women, who do not pander to anyone. They run the show, as it were. And republicans and libertarians, are the snowflakes, as they pander to Faux News.

My heart... is so happy right now. I grew up listening to the Dixie Chicks as young as I can remember. I even became inspired to pick up the violin at age 5 because of Marty, and still play 16 years later... Yet my parents banished me from listening to them after the whole controversy surrounding them, and I never knew why I wasn't allowed to listen to my favorite band anymore. But to see them coming back strong, and sounding and looking as amazing as ever, makes me cherish them as a band even more. I'm so thankful you guys are back!!
I remember when I was younger any band that spoke against bush was banned from my house my sister loved the dixie chicks but after they spoke out against W my dad straight up banned my sister from listening to them

Well, the woman you're speaking of us the one of the sisters who founded the group and writes the music, lyrics and plays many of the instruments. There's really nothing backup about any of the ladies in this band.

My mother and I jammed to this song privately at 6 and she and I were getting abused by my stepdad at the time. Even then I remember thinking "why didn't Wanda go to the police?"
After numerous tries myself, I get it. When i was 15, i was getting hauled away by police as he called them on me for running away from him it especially sunk in. That same year he made me recount the fact that he molested me all through my life to DCF.
On my birthday 2 years ago, a friend of my families im now separated from told me he had passed away, lonely and rotted for a week in his apartment of a horrible death.
If i ever get the pleasure to see this live ill be that cowboy at 0:43 :)

I remember seeing The Chicks live in the late 90's. They were incredible. Still haven't lost it. So glad they recorded this song. It brings awareness to an historical issue, for centuries.
