- Prime by Samantha Mink is a masterclass in minimalist, nature-focused design, created to embody both sophistication and serenity. The home’s low profile and linear form echo mid-century modern principles, yet it’s interpreted through a distinctly contemporary lens. Samantha's use of materials like warm wood and concrete is present throughout, giving the home a tactile, grounded feel that complements the surrounding landscape without overshadowing it. A project that has extended 10+ years from start to finish to suite her family's ever changing needs.
The interiors of the home are minimalist yet warm, with thoughtful details. The layout promotes open, flowing spaces, allowing for flexible living and gathering areas without feeling crowded or compartmentalized. Furniture choices and decor are kept understated, with a focus on craftsmanship and quality, allowing the architecture and the natural scenery to be the main attractions. In the outdoor areas, Samantha designed a pool that not only provides a refreshing space for gatherings but also serves as an aesthetic focal point with inspiration from a childhood hotel pool she visited.
Samantha Mink has created more than just a home; she has crafted a living experience that is deeply rooted in an appreciation for simplicity, nature, and mindful design. Her work here speaks to a broader philosophy of architecture - one that respects and celebrates the environment while providing a space for tranquility, balance, and an elevated quality of life.

Extraordinary. The movement between spaces and materials and the manipulation of light and water is wonderful to see even in a video so I imagine the actual experience of it is quite transformative.
Gosh what an amazing home. The oak tree is absolutely majestic. The hot tub is beautiful. Just wow! Great film as always.
Amazing. And an individual who is proud enough of her creation, yet also down to earth enough to be identifiable.
Fantastic home!
What a beautiful and unique home! I loved hearing Samantha talk about it.
Gorgeous home on the exterior and amazing layout inside. The way it compliments the nature around it and showcases it is beautiful. She really did her thing on this one
The way you guys show the human scale of these houses is super good! Makes the journey through the house very unique, another great watch
So many moments if this incredible home speak to the child in me. The hidden water area, the waterfall door, the into the earth feel, the water bridges, the oak tree. It's thoughtful, and really,... beautiful. Awesome doggo as well.😊
Astonishingly original, beautifully rendered.
Just stunning. Excellent work.
I don't say this lightly......but what a MAGNIFICENT! You should be rightly proud of this labour of love.
She must be exhausted from all that walking 😂
But in all seriousness…. This house is beyond beautiful. What an incredible piece of art. Absolutely took my breath away.
I don’t know what you call the sound I made when the hot tub was revealed. Mouth opened and something like a “gaaaah” came out. Otherworldly and amazing…wow. Well shot guys! House is insane. Great job to the owner/architect, you are very talented and have something beyond “taste”… a command of design. My only complaint is that I wish it was a “special” episode that was 30 minutes
Love the departure from the MCM content, yet this one still has the same vibe. Proud of you guys. Keep ‘em coming. 👏👏👏💪💪💪
Why shouldn't houses be fun? 🥰 The hidden spa in the tower. The secret garden off of an en-suite with a soaking tub. The pocket garden at the entrance. So, so much to love...
what a stunning dream she created Brava!! 👏👏
This is a wonderful home, designed and built so well!
Lovely! Warmth and beauty.
this is breathtaking.
SIMPLESMENTE EXTRAORDINÁRIO! SIMPLY EXTRAORDINARY!!
Beautiful home. I love the concrete and wood!
OS is definitely my fav Arch channel!!
Love the idea of water tower connecting the outside water feature & the inner pool down there. Although at first glance this home reminds me of the Newberg Residence in Oregon by Cutler Anderson Architects but this home has its own character and charm. Just love it!
Stunning!
Wow. This is beautiful ❤️. Congratulations 👏
my jaw dropped. what a beautiful home!
What an Inspiration, Samantha! I'm encouraged to see your continued success, WELL DONE!
😢ABSOLUTELY FUCKING BEAUTIFUL... The idea that such amazing man made things like this exists on the planet is to be appreciated 🔥🙌🏾
The amount of times I unknowingly said to myself: "Oh my god" at the beauty of this project! Some of it reminds me of Scarpa...
incredibly beautiful overall work; thank you for sharing!
Being Creative is so fun🎉 all you do is draw out what you would like to live in Big or Small simplicity is best and that's what this is. Natural material is best.📕🖊️
Wow. Just,.. wow!!
Beautiful work!
Wow. Just WOW
Love your work!
Outstanding!!
This house is crazy
A beautiful home.
I’m speechless ❤

I couldn't agree more: MAGNIFICENT!
Very beautiful home.
Touched my soul.
Incredible house.
Just wow 👏
Very modern.
Nice!
Is that a Mitsubishi Delica in the carport ?? Love the very inspiring, creative-structure AND i miss my lil’ JDM van … thanks for sharing ❤
Congratulations from a fellow Pratt Bratt
Just wow
Extraordinarily Ordinary
One of the best I've seen. I would marry this woman just to live in that house.
Yes, yes and yes
Great job as always, Open Space. I saw a comment about cost, which I’m curious as well.
Ok I take it back. The cali homes are waaay more interesting than the other places
Not so fast. Don't underestimate the brilliant work coming out of Australia.
@ I hope open Space covers some then. But compared to the other US states theyve covered, I like the cali stories and people way more
@@KG_BM I live in the NorCal Bay Area but plenty of houses here just suck. There are some nice areas. Really nice. But they do not compare to socal despite being just as expensive.
This could have been the house for the movie Ex Machina
I get your point but the home in Ex Machina is brilliant. Isolated. Tight. Imprisoning within its beautiful walls.
Wow. 🫶
Not many people could say "I have a waterfall in my bedroom" 😄
wow!!!
It’s so consumptive. The planet doesn’t need another one.
every house must have a secret - wow
Ok , first this place is really just magnificent . But for once someone pays tribute to their team … so classy
It's been said in the video about other people to experience this house.. how can I become a guest?
woah
4:28 thru 5:07 - maybe the most sensual, even sexual, description of of a home I've ever heard. Draws me in, for sure.
What was the project cost of this?
You probably shouldn’t know….itd just make you sad 😂
Прекрасный дом ! Что ещё построил это архитектор ?! Прошу продолжения , спасибо !
Funded by family money, as most of the homes in these videos are. 😐
@@gamby16a Yeah, so?
I like how she thinks
I don't know why but this particular house didn't sit right with me... I think being in some places would make me uneasy. Feels cavernous and rustically excessive with the great amounts of harsh concrete. When I think of California I think of exploring airiness and bright natural light. For me, the only place that the rough elements enhance is the hot tub: now that's a great space!
Dang.
I don't want to be presumptuous but I couldn't help but feel how sad it is that you didn't have a good man to share this extraordinary home with. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope you do.
Have I been saying acoustics wrong for 61 years?
Ohhhh, THAT's what she's saying! Not 'caustics' which made me think of forest fires but it wasn't followed up on 😅. No, we've been saying it right - I just wonder how many more people say 'a caustics' too...
Per my husband, who's from Ojai, an architect, finish carpenter and contractor, he said a whole lot of nope. Cool individual elements, but nope to the final peoject.
the door asks you to open and close it slowly.... goodness
And the sand asks you to weave it and the wind asks you to mint its face. 🤣
Really?? You cant deny who did the decorum in this house. Labour of love?? Dont remember that at all.
l💙
I would never sell this home.
All it takes is money!
Booooring! Modern, but boring
