No amount of flowery words can make up for the fact that the house is too dark. Surely, designing for daylight has to be one of the primary considerarions in architecture.
Even outdoors its gloomy and overcast. It would have been interesting to see the inside with the light coming in. I think it might have been oppressive and almost impossible to shoot if the sun had been shining in directly
I think some of this has to do with how the video is shot. A lot of the indoor shots are exposed to keep the sky outside properly exposed. It’s probably a bit brighter in person. You can tell based on how dark his face is in a lot of the shots.
Black is very much “in” right now in styling. Just wait 5-10 years and it will look out of place. The old mansions around it have stood the test of time and “fancy” styles that have come and gone. Black won’t survive as well. Black actually fades and oxidizes over time. Based on the wealth of the owner, I doubt it will matter much to him.
If this video was shot now in Winter then the lighting is different anyway to when it is summer. I think i would want to see it in real life to see what it is really like.
An amazing house, especially the wine cellar is spectacular 😍 but also the pool area and of course the fantastic view from the house to the mountains and Lake Lugano. I am already looking forward to the next episode 😊
I think it's more of a Bond house in my opinion, elegant, somewhat dark but still with some light color and lots of green. I would imagine a Batman home to be completely underground, mostly with dark colors and with little green nature 😅 Beautufil house as it is 😍
Impressive, also the fact that they bought an expensive luxury mansion, demolished it, and built this. At the very least 10M CHF total cost. Thanks for the tour. Unfortunately technically difficult to film such a house with dark colors inside, with very bright diffuse light outside.
Hi Christian I have just binge watched all your videos. Apart from the fact that you are incredibly cute. I love your presentation enthusiasm and content. You are on another level when it comes to architecture videos Thank you so much Can’t wait for your next video Christopher
This house stands in Morcote. Villas in that village are being sold in the market for 6-20 mio. $. Assuming there must have been already an (old) house on that property before, this house must have cost in the range of 10-25m. Wow.
Cool project in many aspects. But sometimes monotonous and there is a lot of not cool objects (too much in the living room) with ugly plants. 8/10 nice finish and as man I think that’s a cool bat cave. Another comment. Small bedrooms and kitchen.
As Frank Lloyd Wright said about bedrooms: They are only to be slept in. Don’t waste space on them. He also made note of kitchens: They are work rooms defined for a singular purpose. Very different from today where the kitchen becomes part of the living experience. Depending on the owner’s preference, the kitchen could just be for servants or catering staff to use. If they aren’t gourmet cooks themselves, they may not want it part of their living experience. Just for making some coffee in the morning. The large living room is genius. So many options for arranging set ups. Look at the size of the dining room table. 16-20 people around it! Try fitting all those people into a single seating arrangement in the living room. They need different groupings.
Love the brutalist concrete with glass and the dark look but the living room is disappointing. 3 different sofa sets in one large room with no separation? Looks like a hotel lobby. Views are nice though. And the "gym" is a joke.
Batman lives there, that’s why. 😂 No, I’m joking. I guess you refer to the shots in the living room? It is a low-light setting and with the bright sun outside, you cannot perfectly expose the camera for the view and the interior at the same time. So you will either have blown out white windows (not being able to see the view) or make the interior appear a little darker to be able to see both at the same time. Hope it helped. 👍🏼
Eugene, we have to respect that people are living there. Ideally, this would be a multiple day shoot, but that’s not always possible for practical reasons. We try to get the most out of the time we have available.
This might be the most annoying narration ive ever heard. Where do you come upbwith these fantasies about architechture javing a conversation with nature? Give me a break. Oh and its a dark cave
This is another expensive home for the rich. The building is bleak and bare like the Modern Architecture demands. Who can afford a wine sellar? None of the stairs have railings. The mansion merges the living room and the bathroom which is fashionable but will age badly. Who wants to shower in front of everyone? Who wants to relieve himself with company nearby. Why not build for those of limited means? That is really novel.
All technological advancement begins with someone trying to push the boundaries of what is possible. When new discoveries are made, past inventions are replaced by better and often much cheaper options. If no one was trying to design and build something extraordinary, the materials conventional homes are built with today would likely not even have been found. Bold architecture is needed; it will also have a positive affect towards affordable housing.
Dicky, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but you are denying one critical factor here: This is what the owner wanted otherwise it would not have been built!! You have no appreciation for what this wealthy individual desired for his home. This is a complete one-off design. Not an ordinary or budget-market home for the masses.
I'm not going to spend all that money to have a place that's like an airport departure lounge. Why do they have to put in so much furniture? Not all of us need people around all the time. If I bought this, it'd be to be most alone except maybe with the kids. That's all. Maybe an occasional person who I feel is worth bringing there. The idea is to escape and be away from human beings. Don't you people get it? Not all of us have club-going tendency. I just want to watch Jumper in quiet and peace without the stuidity of some person messing up the vibes for me.
Only darkness, no enough light. Those deep shadows 😊. That can’t be breathtaking for the viewer. But I believe being on set it’s amazing.

@D_SQ
I totally agrree. In addition, simply too much use of concrete. Not a fan of this type of trendy architecture.

Incredible home. Breathtaking setting. Simply stunning❤
Very cold dark and lonely

architects need to realise that there is something called "too much tech"
a house has to make you feel relaxed

Love the house 🔥 Please say hi to the adorable kitty for me 😉
Spatial sequences 😮😮😮
Not so keen on the long walk to the main entrance. I assume there is an alternative entry point during inclement weather?
There is an elevator from the garage area. Just thought the sequential entrance path was more interesting to show. 😉
Flot arkitektur og perfekte beliggenhed!
This doesn’t feel like a home. It’s very sterile.
It would be nice to see it clear inside once it's that dark outside
Yes, definitely some evening shots to show how it glows at night. It must be very impressive. Homes aren’t just experienced during the daytime.
Does it come with a cape?
The interior darkness in materials gives the house a sense of inclosure. Even though it’s open to the outside
Enjoy keeping It clean😂😂😂
@arvinhaddad can you review this property
Stunningly beautiful, although I would not want to be the guy in charge of cleaning fingerprints and cat hair all over those dark surfaces.
Wow, wow, wow, wow.....
Very depressive living room and kitchen. Prince of darkness would appreciate it. Family man needs wood white beige etc

Are they gonna use it for filming thrilling movies?
Nice bachelor pad, not sure it's quite right for a family. Overall it seems too dark, unless this is due to not using camera lighting.
It is called stealth but it stands out between all those other houses, this somewhat defeats that purpose. I saw it is more Bond villain.
Entrance makes no sense is miles from the door, kitchen is gourgeous
Just for being in Switzerland it most cost a fortune
The cost of the building permits alone could buy a decent car.
Perfect house for a cybertruck😂😂
Love the brutalist concrete with glass and the dark look but the living room is disappointing. 3 different sofa sets in one large room with no separation? Looks like a hotel lobby. Views are nice though. And the "gym" is a joke.
I second this
The detail of the Mr. Lover Lover Corkscrew at @6:24……..
A little easter egg. Well spotted! 😂
❤ 🏠👏
This home has promise but as is, no, it is not yet a masterpiece. For instance, the furnishings are designer grade.
I would love to build a beautiful home on the property.
This video is too dark, surely the house can’t be that dark all the time.

Can't help but agree - the shots are too dark and difficult to see the detail which is a shame. Stunning house though
@@RestlessLiving you could have filmed during the day and at night when you have more control of the light sources...
Eugene, we have to respect that people are living there. Ideally, this would be a multiple day shoot, but that’s not always possible for practical reasons. We try to get the most out of the time we have available.
Water damage all over the concrete looks awful. They needed a lip
A Magnificent McMansion Monstrosity and Masterpiece.
La casa está hermosa, pero no saben poner las botellas de vino correctamente
This is the set of parasite the movie.
if you only listen to what he is saying the house looks great, if you open your eyes you will be disapointed.
I love the way you styled this house! I also run a channel about home design and would love for you to check it out.
The stealth? Ah yes, a big black roof that blends in its surrounding? How silly do you want it to be?
The Wine cellar is terrible on so many levels. Besides that, the rest of the project is top notch if you like a dark themed house.
To budu mít taky?! 😂😂😂
Tak ale nejdřív ten byt zadarmo tomu krupanskymu fizlovi z Dlouhý…
Bych cítil blbě jinak 😂😂😂😅
It sucks. Abd this comes from someone who likes dark interiors. Selling this will be close to impossible.
beautiful view for a concrete penitentiary. Stop trying to sell unfinished concrete as good. It's cheap and ugly.
Sento puzza di evasione fiscale 😂😂😂
Nice build, shame about the interior design and lighting.
I like the overall architecture, but interior is horrible, concrete, black and depressing, really a batman cave
Could not appreciate much. Very bad lightning.
It's hideous and so out of touch with it's surroundings and the other houses
Stealth ok, but what's all this crap IN the house??
Stealth=Scary? 💩

The bathroom is in the private bedroom, not in the living room.

I cannot actually make out the interior as it is dark. Maybe you could have used lights for the photography.
That would have been ideal. But we unfortunately didn’t have enough time nor the budget for that. So we tried to get the most out of what we had. 👌🏼
