People seem to forget that Burrow got hurt in his first year and was 2-7-1 before the injury. When he came back to the team the Bengals had added Trey Hendrickson, Mike Hilton, Chidobe Awuzie, Ja'Marr Chase, Joseph Ossai, Evan McPherson, etc. Not discrediting how good Burrow is, but this notion that he single-handedly turned around the Bengals organization is crazy.

There are only 12 QBs with more than one Super Bowl win. There is only one currently playing that is Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes is the only QB ever to have a winning record when trailing. He also has never played a road playoff game. That is 5 years of never playing on the road in the playoffs. He has more playoff wins than many franchises.

Im a bengals fan and burrow along with the other offensive weapons we've had like chase like mixon have really took us from a team that was poverty to a contending team. But patrick has got it done when its been clutch like in both of the superbowl wins especially the first one. So right now patrick is still the guy but burrow has shown he can hang with him and we've beaten them on a few occasions. I think its a good thing when we have so many good QBs in the AFC right now it really makes things interesting.

You can't compare the two. Joe Burrow has a way better defense and WR core as a whole. If Pat has a top 10 defense it's really a wrap for everyone, which it already is a wrap.
I gotta disagree. We're not going to act like the Bengals don't have one the best rosters in the league. Cincy definitely tanked to get Burrow and pieces around him. Let's not forget Burrow got hurt his rookie season, and the Bengals weren't doing well anyway. Cincy had a lot of draft capital. Burrow gets all the credit for turning that team around, but I say it's not all on him. Management and the team he has around him deserve equal parts of that credit.
Burrow better hurry up cause he’s about to lose a whole bunch of talent when those contracts come due. If he can’t win a ring now, it’s only going to get harder.
Burrow is going to have a better o line this year and a full off season and training camp with not having to worry about recovering from his knee or the appendix I would definitely think the bengals have better odds at winning the Super Bowl this year then the past 2 seasons

Mahomes is in a league of his own. The rest are just his closest competitors. Burrow happens to be the closest competitor-maybe. The difference between them is that they swapped roles between NCAA and NFL. Mahomes was a very good college player who became and elite NFL player. Burrow was an elite college player-at least during his senior year-to a very good NFL player.

The last two years, he made costly mistakes during key moments against the Rams and Chiefs. He can change that, of course; we could go back and look at those two games as his coming up short twice in an otherwise stellar career, but he has to prove that. That or he has to dominate in yardage, touchdowns, etc.

If Hurts can repeat what he did last year, he’s there. So I see two elite guys, one of them at the end of his career, one borderline, and several candidates.

No one is saying Joe B is better than Patty right now. But their stats after 3 years in the league : Yds JB= 11,774 PM= 9412; TD’s JB= 82 PM= 76; Comp % JB= 68.2 PM= 65.9. JB also cam to a losing organization (2-14) and turned them around (12-4 last year), whereas Patty came to a playoff team. That doesn’t show up in stats but it does matter at some point. When JB has 6 years in league, compare him to Patty at 6 to at least try to be fair. If you look at Brady’s final numbers and compare to Patty now, not really fair to Patty. There are also some intangibles. I keep hearing, if Patty had JB’s receivers. Patty has had Kelce and Hill for the majority. Patty also has has top O line for last couple years. Burrow went at least half of last season at certain points without Chase, Higgins, or Boyd (mostly at different times). He consistently elevates those around him. Have you heard of Trent Irwin? That is who Burrow had to throw to at certain points of the season.

Im a bengals fan and burrow along with the other offensive weapons we've had like chase like mixon have really took us from a team that was poverty to a contending team. But patrick has got it done when its been clutch like in both of the superbowl wins especially the first one. Mahomes is in a league of his own. The rest are just his closest competitors. Burrow happens to be the closest competitor-maybe. The difference between them is that they swapped roles between NCAA and NFL. Mahomes was a very good college player who became and elite NFL player. Burrow was an elite college player-at least during his senior year-to a very good NFL player.

Apparently, right now Burrows biggest hurdle is being able to run without hurting himself. Sure Burrow can sit in the pocket and throw the ball exactly to who the coach says, but he'll never be a play maker like Mahomes. He was trained to adapt or run or make plays, he was trained to be Tom Brady, just stand right there and throw. He'll never have the talent Mahomes has.

Is Mahomes more accomplished? Yes. Has he played 52 games more than Burrow? Yes. But CAN Burrow dethrone him? Going to take a lot because Mahomes/Reid AND the Chiefs are greatness. I know it’s a hard pill to swallow. McPherson is on an Adam Venetari like run - he’s 19 for 19 FGA with multiple game winners. Meanwhile Burrows defense has caused 13 TOs in 7 playoff games. Almost 2 per game. The patriots defense first 7 playoff games with Brady forced 16 TOs (just 3 less). And those patriots defenses had multiple hall of famers. No one is saying Joe B is better than Patty right now. But their stats after 3 years in the league : Yds JB= 11,774 PM= 9412; TD’s JB= 82 PM= 76; Comp % JB= 68.2 PM= 65.9. JB also cam to a losing organization (2-14) and turned them around (12-4 last year), whereas Patty came to a playoff team. That doesn’t show up in stats but it does matter at some point. When JB has 6 years in league, compare him to Patty at 6 to at least try to be fair. If you look at Brady’s final numbers and compare to Patty now, not really fair to Patty. There are also some intangibles. I keep hearing, if Patty had JB’s receivers. Patty has had Kelce and Hill for the majority. Patty also has has top O line for last couple years. Burrow came into Cincinnati, which up until that point was never a team that the NFL at large looked to be a good team. Top to bottom, the Bengals have been looked at for decades as a 'okay to bad' team.
