Solid takes, I completely understand your viewpoints and agree with most of them. I still don’t think X4 still necessarily needed to be hit after the sunrise buster hit and would’ve preferred if we’d had the chance to see how the deck is without Sunrise Buster, but I completely understand the reasoning behind it.

The best card in Grandis in my opinion is the one that causes your opponent to lose a memory every time their digimon gets suspended. That card is what gives Grandis all the memory it needs to do its big OTK turns. And, if it doesn't win the game there, it usually stalls the opponents next turn as they are under an ice-wall type effect.

Yeah good take, let's limit cards before they have a chance to establish themselves in the meta. Thing is bo1 and bo3 are wildly different, and this is very easily shown in that the Latin American DC1 there was not a single Xros Heart in the top 8. This is incredibly toxic precedence that Bandai has shown here, if people are to buy into decks in the future there's a chance those decks get hit before even having the chance to pilot them. It's gross and they need to figure out how to run their card game better.

I agree completely. Even though I do not like playing against XRos, this hit was way too soon and sends a negative connotation throughout the community and the game as a whole. Why would players buy into sealed product and singles if Bandai will just hit them like a week later? This shouldn't have happened but I hope Bandai realise this was a mistake and never do it again.

Personally, I don't think they shout hit either of the Promo Garurumon. Hit WereGarurumon X instead. Both promos have existed since the beginning of the game and there have been many way to get jamming, and it never caused any issue. The problem are the X-versions, especially the Lv5. It unsuspends it a second time while attacking, and allows you to activate the Sec+1 inheritable without going into a Mega, and that's what makes it busted imo. Replace WereGarurumon X with either of the two Sagittarius modes and you'll realize that it loses a lot of its tempo and becomes significantly more reasonable. I don't think there is any problem with blue having an easy Sec+1 inheritable, a lot of other colors have their versions of that. Without X, it's either two checks, or if you have the memory you can go into a Lv.6 and check three times in total. That's reasonable, it's about the same tempo as U/G Imperialdramon.

I really agree with your takes. I still think personally mastemon and deathX need something, maybe an errata if not a bad or limit but something. Mastemon has been so consistent and over represented at every single event I go to and it has too many strong points with not enough weak points. With the new support coming down the ropes it wouldn’t be unfair to limit or change some of the current synergies since they’ll be replaced by new ones anyways. That’s just what I think though

I am in the camp that they should leave X4 up at least until BT-11 especially with the sunrise hit. The only issue I agree is that BT-11 was so far away like you mentioned. But with so many players playing BWG and Metalgaruru/Alphamon I think the deck would be kept in check for sure in the West. At least it will be interesting with how different the meta will be here.
On the last part of the video, I COMPLETELY agree with your choice of future limits. BT-9 OTK decks ruined the interactivity level of the game and those 2 cards are the perfect ones to hit for that. But, if they hit those cards they have to hit BWG in BT-11 because they are the only decks that can kind of keep it in check. My suggested limit for BWG is BT-8 Metalgreymon.
Overall really solid points, good video once again Sushi.

I kinda understand the X4 hit, but at the same time it feels very weird to have JP bans hit EN formats that don't even exist yet (in some cases, never exist), especially considering the 2 are almost always completely different (BT7 + MDF, BT8 + Eyes/Savior, BT9 + Jetsilphy, etc). It seems to me like they still treat the rest of the world like a subset of JP. Instead of devoting a small amount of resources to monitor the EN format and make decisions based on THAT data, they just spend all their time and effort on the JP meta and roll a D6 to randomly determine when those changes will come to EN version. I also really don't like the "deck is still playable 2 sets later, so clearly it needs to be banned out" approach... but to each their own I guess

Honestly I don't think that XROS will be effected in the long run by the Ban list with the hit to x4 I think the biggest hit is to Sunrise Buster. But it also opens up the spot for a tech and two other others and I know you know what I am thinking! Also don't talk about my Were wolf boi like that how rude! :(

I literally have a solution to people's reactions to most of these restriction announcements.
BANDAI NEEDS TO HAVE THE INTERNATIONAL RELEASE AND JAPANESE RELEASE OF THE DIGIMON CARD GAME AT THE SAME TIME. In addition, we need to have the same set of rules.
If we had Shoutmon X4 for as long as the JP meta did, then at least the international players would be able to play with it, before the restrictions. As someone who used to play Yu-Gi-Oh!, but still maintains interests in the card market; it is never a good thing that JP is basically a beta testing of the meta. When powerful cards are seen play in the JP meta, but isn't scheduled to be released for international until a later date, it doesn't just warp the format but also the card market. The rules for the game also need to be consistent between JP and International. The phrase "practice makes perfect" is important here. How is Digimon supposed to be taken seriously as a card game if comparatively there are people playing two separate card games, but they all attend the same World's Tournament? Again, Yu-Gi-Oh! as a reference, it is so silly every time I see World's and they have a weird ban/restricted list that is a fusion between both metas. It isn't like those professional players were practicing with that ban/restricted prior, but now we expect them to play with it? In addition, having the same set of rules, would allow the overall meta to figure itself out. Just like with the example of Alphamon, maybe DoruGreymon wouldn't need to have been restricted in the first place if JP also played best of two. As I see it, the additions to this current ban/restricted list is because of a beta testing of a completely different game; the Japan version is not the same as the International version. And the sooner Bandai figures this out and have the International release catch up to the Japanese release, the sooner we can get the game fixed in the long run. Yes, if the International release is rushed, it will be growing pains, but it needs to be fixed now, before it becomes a terrible habit.

Yeah it really sucks. I make the same argument using Yu-Gi-Oh aswell because the JP card are worded differently over there so the card we have actually doesnt play the same at all. Sunrise Buster imho isnt that strong. Look at the tournaments being played and MAYBE at best 1 deck in the top 16 is even running it. Oh it can play tamers for free sometimes you dont have a tamer to play. I use a deck with almost 20 and wiff almost everytime I play it. Ever decklist I seen running Calling From Darkness only ever ran 1 copy. The other three copies are cards that can fetch it feom the grave if it is sent there and are more utility cards. Durogreymon isnt even that bad sure they can attack 3 times with a big boy but many other decks do the same thing. Oh sure you can but it under during an attack but ehn? If they attacking you more then likely lost even without it. Not to mention GrandisKuwagamon can also do the exact same thing.

    • @TonioC105

Yeah it's pretty dumb...why even build a deck off the bat if the eventual excuse is "Hur dur theyve been playing this format months longer than anyone else and it's bad so we'll kill whatever comes out for everyone else but of course only after you spend big money on our boxes." If we're going to be punished because they're ahead of us then print the cards at the same time or make a sperate banlist? Everyone's like oh It's okay now till it keeps happening...hell I don't even know why the banlist outside of Japan goes into effect before theirs when they're the ones who need x4 out the game immediately

    • @ProphecyPhrase
      @ProphecyPhrase 2 года назад

@@redblackdg As a Alphamon player DuroGreymon was a problem outside of his Secuity Attack +1 inheritable. He allowed you to put a X-Antibody card from hand underneath your sources easily triggering your effects to gain memory and draw cards, or set up Alphamon OTK. He also gave you a terrific protection effect that carried over if you evolved up.
So yeah DoruGreymon was a problem.

its def a hard decision to make to limit cards this early, they could of announced that they were gonna be monitoring it closely in ENG and then be quick to ban. Tho i feel all choices would lose players. Limit early punish ppl excited for it, limit later (if it becomes problem) and lose players cause they hate the xcross meta and are impatient. Even if they waited im sure someone would still leave announcing to all of twitter and yt. Great Vid and nice spooOOky costume lol :p
Also, I like to point out the bit of hypocrisy of some, again, not all but some ppl, as in people using and believing jpn meta when deciding on the deck their gonna play and then continuing to buy all alts for it at the start but also at the same time discrediting their meta when that deck gets hit by a limit saying "oh its not(wouldnt be) the same." if its not the same why would u goo buck wild and buy into it right away. again i know not everyones the same, some ppl r just fans of xcross etc. / my hot take.

Robo, I have a question. How does DeathXmon interact with Mother D-Reaper? Say my opponent has a DeathXmon. It is my turn, and I have a Mother D-Reaper and a LV3 Digimon; I end my turn. Is it the Mother D-Reaper that gets "attempted" to be deleted, because it has no play cost? Or is the LV3 deleted, because Mother D-Reaper has no play cost? Also, I'm correct in assuming that when Mother D-Reaper is on the playfield, that it is counted as a Digimon, because Starmons counts it for its DP reduction effect; or is still a Digi-Egg?

Don't call out my boy GranKu like that 👀 tbh I understand your point, buuuuuut at the same time, that's like saying they should restrict Ancientgreymon, I don't see promo GranKu getting hit for this reason it's been in the card game for a loooooong time, if anything you had the right secondary though, Okuwa promo will probably be the thing that gets hit, although they made that when digivolving effect into a 2 cost option... Idk I might be biased but it doesn't seem nearly as good as everything else due to consistency, I mean you know it's bad when a green deck is playing 4 Davis and blue hybrids to add consistency because that's how inconsistent it is lol, it's not like Melga where they draw at least one card every time they attack you know?? I hope that makes sense

As much as I do not like Xross Heart as a Deck as I find it very frustrating to play against, I don't think it should have been hit as hard as it was yet. We had just gotten the deck, and while the deck is relatively cheap, it is unfair for the players who went out and bought the deck only for it to get hit.
I hate how Bandai base our banlists on Japan's lists though. While we will get what they have, it is completely different formats with them being best of 1 yet for us best of 3. I don't understand why they couldn't just spend some time and actually monitor the EN metagame before making a list.
