I had this realization about IG vs YT just recently. It makes ZERO sense to place any effort into IG. Unless you have a loyal following buying your products and services, to justify the amount of effort you put into it. I’m concentrating all my efforts on YT now. And this issue is starting to be discussed more in depth, it seems like. Pretty soon, IG will have to change their business model if they want to survive. Because you’re right, once the good creators leave, the quality of the content will decrease and people who are simply sharing may start feeling like the platform isn’t as interesting as it used to be - even if they don’t understand why. In this creator economy, the bar is set higher. It isn’t 2015 anymore. So, whether they like it or not, it’s gotten to the point where they do depend on content creators and quality content to keep people engaged in the platform. If they aren’t willing to make creator’s time and effort worthwhile, they will be left with no glue to keep it together, in my opinion. I’m no expert, but I can speak for myself - I’m jumping off the IG bandwagon. It’s exploring creators beyond what I personally find reasonable.
I'm realizing this myself. I build my IG from the Ground-Up. Been posting consistently and I finally got a decent following but the monetization is low. I need to focus on YT and the content I have there
DThornDigital Most Business pages on Facebook rarely if ever go viral. Also Facebook doesn’t really want to pay business pages. They don’t push your page at all. I have a business page and it barely gets views. I have a second page posting Bible quotes and I get way more engagement than on the babble page.
RUclips is Google product and it's still the boss of all bosses when it comes in rewarding creators but it requires a lot of work and stress, which is too much on some many people.
@@lifespanwellnessbeauty-60i64 don't use it to monetize your channel..use it by making content to draw traffic to your products..I have three faceless channels but to draw traffic for my products and affiliate links..you will set yourself up for failure if you depend on income from your RUclips channel with views..it works for others but it takes time.

This means to me that IG and Meta are bad choices when it comes to building a social media brand unless you're going to monetize your audience.

Well said. Most creators on Instagram should only use the platform as a video business card instead of a place to post content.

Exactly 🎯! I had no idea what all it takes, ( tricks, strategies etc.) to get monetized on RUclips. It's not worth it to me.
