@@NMW80 your parathyroids sit on the back of your thyroid, like 4 little buttons, it is not your thyroid that makes PTH

I had all those symptoms plus I would get double vision and blurry vision, I was tired but I would only sleep a couple of hours a day, also my voice box or larynx would spasm and I couldn't breathe,
I found out I could hold my breath for over 2 and a half minutes.
Now I take 10 600mg calcium pills and 2 calcitrol pills every day. or at least I am supposed too

Thank you for this. I've dealt with this for more than a decade. This past March it progressed to hyperparathyroidism. Seeing an ENT for the first time in 5 days. Doctors at multiple hospitals, including UCSF, missed basic signs like severe vitamin D deficiency, which is in the bloodwork as low as 5 ng/ml in 2011 when it should have been no less than 30 ng/ml (I had a duodenal switch weight loss surgery which affects what the level needs to be at). This has been a nightmare and I can't wait for it to be mostly over. Sadly, I now live with permanent damage to my spine.

For short time at the beginning for me as a man was the total loss of all emotions god it was horrible thankfully it lasted only for a few days swiftly followed by extreme tiredness I've a great doctor who made the first suspicion that it was this condition l could taste bone in my mouth as well and blood pressure went through the roof! It was the one on the lower right heavily infected and pumping out calcium and slowly killing me I'm on record as having the highest blood calcium level ever seen in a human being apparently I'm wondering if any one had the same first symptom as l did?..l was operated on and said gland was removed ..day later l felt OK again hope your OK too oh just for the record Viking king Ivor the Boneless may ? Have had this condition too!

My doctor suspects I have adult acquired (not post surgical) hypoparathyroidism. I have many of the symptoms. But while my PTH is low, calcium and vitamin D are normal; don't know about phosphorous and some of the other minerals. Is it possible to have hypoparathyroidism and have normal calcium and vitamin D (so far, I have only had the general calcium test, not the ones that segment out the two diff. calcium types)?

Yup. I suffer from this due to total thyroidectomy. Its very tough to live with. I can relate to everyone in the video. At 1 point, my pth and calcium was undetectable after my surgery. Boy, was that the worst feeling I have ever had. Good times lol....

if you have muscle pain try taking magnesium. if you are having cramping it is either magnesium or potassium you are needing and since you are low thyroid i would suggest taking a calcium supplement as well one with vitamin D3 in it.
