Im from Charleston SC been driving trucks for 28 years i know the roads in SC GA and NC all the chicken and pigs farm are in North Carolina YOU WRONG SIR
Our roads are horrible, looks like you are in the Charleston area not my favorite either. I live in Spartanburg but for it to be so bad sure a lot of people moving here. Guess that big city life is worse than living in a small community. But hey glad you don’t like it don’t come back
Never been a fan of South Carolina, but honestly, some of the most beautiful states in the country are known for not having large cities. Alaska, Idaho, Western Montana. Hell, the largest city in Wyoming is Cheyenne, yet it's smaller and much less significant than most average sized cities here in Florida like Fort Myers, Sarasota or Melbourne. I think it's because people dream of being in the Rockies and Yellowstone, but they're empty due to the geographical factors and how difficult it is to live out there. I get what you're saying though since South Carolina doesn't have those geographical extremes that the states in the west do. Because of that, there should be more things to do and see in South Carolina, but there just aren't. With the exceptions of the mountains at the far end and the coastline, the whole rest of the state is pretty bland. Hardly any places for tourists to stop at unless you wanna see dead or abandoned attractions. Columbia looks surprisingly boring and lifeless for being the capitol. I've always wanted to visit Charleston though, and it's an absolute must see destination. But to be real, I find South Carolina otherwise to be one of the lesser interesting states on the east coast of the U.S. A lot of people just end up driving through it to get to somewhere else.
Food that isnt authentically ours? umm lets see..... Rice and Hash, Gullah red rice, Catfish stew, shrimp and grits, Gumbo (NOLA stole it, it actually comes from the gullah. new orleans modeled their city after chucktown as we are 40 years older), Chicken perlo (chicken bog), Okra soup, She Crab soup, Hoppin' john, Lowcountry boil AKA Frogmore Stew, Shrimp and okra, Boiled peanuts (pronounced Bowled peanuts) Mustard based BBQ, Pimento cheese on burgers, Coconut cake is out official dessert, chewies, Benne wafers, Crab rice, seafood salad, Fried green tomatoes, and the list goes on and on, the gullah culture has flooded south carolina with culture. you rode through south carolina and when you were in charleston you never stopped to eat. experiencing culture takes exploration. florida has no culture im not sure why you even brought them up and when it comes to BBQ alabama isnt even part of the "triangle" or BBQ regions. The regions are Texas, Memphis, Carolina, Kansas city and St louis.
I would break your channel if I shared my experiences with South Carolina. My first trip was getting married at Beaufort County, SC Courthouse because it wasn't legal for us to get married in Florida. I was wearing a red, white & blue skort set. I'll stop the story there to keep you safe.😂
@GelliSolo It was indeed quiet & quaint. My 17 yo hubby wanted a career in politics, so I now suspect he was heading for Hilton Head Island, in retrospect. We got stuck in a motel next to Beaufort County Courthouse when he forgot his birth certificate & we waited 3 days for it to arrive.😂
I learned my lesson & never married again after I finally thought I escaped 10 yrs later. I'm not certain you can escape the Military in this particular matrix.🤷♀️
Does this guy go to every town and look around and if every individual looks like they aren't making $200k a year with a household income of $400 k talking shit about that town or state unless it's California, Colorado, or NY or some left wing liberal state. I'm being real
Welp, I guess us South Carolinians should just succeed from the union once again. We're such a disgrace to this beautiful country. 😢 It's funny we were ranked 2nd in the nation in 2023 for fastest growing state. Why are you people coming here? I mean we can't offer you the comfort of high cost of living and we don't have huge sky scrapers to boot. What's to love? No one likes to go outside anyways, so it beats me..
Don't listen to this jabroni, he 's just trying to get a reaction out of people and I'm pretty sure he's being facetious. South Carolina is a beautiful state with great people, I've lived there for 6 months which isn't a long time at all, but it only took 6 months to know I really liked it. I'm from New England which I love but I love coastal South Carolina and Georgia too
Pawley's Island, Murrells' inlet, Myrtle beach State park. all beautiful beaches The beaches outside Charleston beautiful as well. Not as nearly as packed with tourists as Florida and hardly a miniature golf in sight.
“ they break down crying”😂😂😂 so I guess I should cross SC off the list of places to retire to.? You had me laughing the whole video dude. I appreciate your honesty.
I would just say another You Tube channel just did a video pointing out that the Greenville, Columbia, and Charleston metros all have over 800,000 people - Greenville is near 1 million. So yes, there are no large cities, but there are fairly large metros, though nothing like Atlanta, Tampa, Orlando, or Miami.
Hes a massive troll, Ive been a subscriber back when he only had 100 subscribers, talking shit is how he grifts to get subscribers. Several places in south carolina he liked and he loved Charleston.
These states on the east coast are all getting urbanized. Housing developments bankrolled by blackrock are springing up everywhere and with that come rules, high taxes and outrageous home prices. Not some thing ya wanna look forward to as you retire.
@@Buckseed the statistic is based on the percentage paid on personal income and state and local taxes, crime and car insurance is another subject, its all a trade off
😂😂.. Florida is the LEAST affordable state to rent in. Have some of the highest car insurance, utility bills, and very low wages. Tennessee is .. well, Tennessee. Low wages, poor. Alaska? Don’t nobody wanna live in no damn Alaska, you could have left that irrelevant ass state out of this. NH.. 😂, nobody lives in NH, and that’s for a very good damn reason. Hey Buddy, this is what America is now: expensive, expensive, expensive. It’s the same every damn where you go. A state with low taxes will definitely have another way to steal your money.
I remember the trees seemed to come right to the road. and there was no advertising along the interstate. The place seemed nice to drive through. Because no one wanted to move there, Charleston did not get knocked down for 20th century architecture. That turned out good in the long term.
So on point! My best friend from Miami, his family is actually from South Carolina. They moved back there in 93. I've been to visit a few times. The dangerous roads, 150% true. His little sister died. 19. Back around 97. Head on collision. 😞 Rest in Peace Jennifer. And my best friend still there. he has a boyfriend 😂. The beach is gross. Last time I was there, the big sewer tubes out by the shore.. don't remember if the water was coming in or going out. And they definitely are behind the times. It was like going back in time. Time traveling 😂. But I had the best time.. probably because it felt like I was time traveling. And yes.. there are white racist people. But . I always had a great time when I went. Near Myrtke Beach. Surfside
South Carolina definitely has nice spots. However it’s an incredibly bland state so I give it a thumbs down. That said, if you’re into that southern vibe then by all means enjoy it. It’s not for me -with a few exceptions though

Florida, Tenn, WY, AK, NH, have some of the lowest tax burdens in the country. That's reason enough to consider them.

No large squalid, crime filled cities ?
The large cities in Florida ALL have a lower homicide rate than THE ENTIRE state of SC. Thats sad to think an entire rural area is that crime ridden
This is my personal opinion but SC is a mix bag. It's a great place for retirement but in terms of a new career nah
