Since graduating I find myself wishing I wouldn't have slacked in all of my later math classes. It's not that I didn't understand it, I was just of the mindset that I would never use it so I just did the bare minimum to get by. I've gotten into a bit of casual programming on the side and turns out that some pretty intense math is required to do certain things. It would have been a hell of a lot easier to listen to the nice old lady that actually knew what she was doing, as opposed to reading disjointed lessons from a hundred different websites. Moral of the story kids, pay attention in school. You may never use it, but knowledge is power.
+Anonymous Unternehmer At least in my particular situation. It would also come in handy if you wanted to be an engineer, rocket scientist, chemist, or math teacher. Programmer is just something I enjoy doing as a hobby. If you want to do any of the above you pretty much have to choose that as a career path pretty early on.
+Anonymous Unternehmer That's plenty of time. I'd say just pay attention to math (also all of the other stuff, but I've probably found math to be the most important), my school had optional Trigonometry classes for Jr's and Calculus for seniors. I never took them because my grades weren't that great in math, and I didn't have a great grasp on the basics that lead into those classes. Also just look up some basic programming tutorials on google and follow along. If you think that's what you want to do and decide to go to college, major in computer science. That will teach you basic programming all the way to advanced, along with all of the other stuff that goes along with it. But definitely use the internet to your advantage right now (I personally started with Java, but it's not hard to learn other languages one you have a good grasp of how they work). You can learn an amazing amount just from Google and RUclips. A head start will be extremely beneficial in college. Programming is one of those jobs that can't be replaced by robot, and will pay very well. I'm hoping to design mobile games by myself as a side job, that's a huge market right now and shows no signs of slowing down. Hoping I can do it full time one day, but it's a lot to learn without any real guidance.
Not to hate on your teacher, but isn't it their job to relate all the "useless" math in a way to get you interested in learning it? Teaching is so much more than just cramming knowledge into student's brains. Anyways, glad you came around eventually, and good thing that we have so much resources now for learners of all ages. Live as you would die tomorrow, but learn as if you would live forever.
+masterimbecile I had two math teacher throughout high school. Mrs. Noel and Mrs. Torrence. Mrs. Noel was a great teacher and the nicest old lady you'd ever meet. She always had clever analogies or demonstrations that would keep most kids interested. She even talked to me several times saying she though I was wasting a lot of potential.. But there's only so much a teacher can do for a ignorant, stubborn high schooler. I didn't do that bad in class, just refused to do homework and survived on finals. Algebra isn't hard, the bad grades/lack of interest kept me out of the more advanced classes that would have helped me down the road. Mrs. Torrence on the other hand was the teacher you described. She would put the days lesson on the projector, talk for 20-30 minutes (our classes were 90 minutes long, we had 4 subjects for half of the year then switched to 4 different subjects for the other half of the year), then pass out papers and say "Have at it" while she sat at her computer until the bell rang. A lot of the time I would just talk to someone or play games on the expensive calculator we had to buy (Anyone remember Block Dude?). Absolutely loved Computer Tech/Graphic Design though. Pirated Photoshop and learned it front to back (was usually doing that instead of math homework), got all A's, even got half of the school detention because I figured out the private wi-fi password and gave it to everyone (actually only gave it to a few people but it spread like a virus.). Anyways, didn't mean to write a autobiography, moral of the story is that it's not always the teachers fault. There's not much they can do when asshole kids are going through their rebellious stage, I was really just interested in computers, the rest was superfluous to me... I guess I did good in English as well, I already knew the damn language, not much to learn after that.
Just change the origin of the machine ... It would take him literally 3 lines of code ^^ but a bullseye is more impressive than a 3x20 for the non initiaded

murica thats why not exactly known for darts
@@glxxyz that would be sick, just throw the dart and it will calculate which spot is best to land the dart to get a 9 darter
Yeah but you could never finish a leg since you have to end with a double or bull.

Student: "when will we ever use y=mx+b in real life"
𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘙𝘰𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯
At my school y intercept is represented as c.
y = mx + c
Red Fox
same, but my math tutor uses b
Nice way to make someone visit your channel
LMAO
y=mx+b is a simple equation. For example:
Find b when point (3,4) and a gradient of 5:
4=15+b
b=-15+4
b=-11
therefore, y=5x-11
See, simple.

Some. Matlab. Code.
So simple, right?

It's honestly really helpful to get better at math (especially Algebra) if you plan on pursuing engineering as a career choice.

@markrober What happens when you throw both darts at the same time?
It would just jutter around as the system swapped from focusing on each dart
nah, it'll explode and everyone dies

You’re telling me it took you 16 minutes to teach us about tiny soapbox cars, but only 7 to teach us about a trajectory-predicting dart board?
reverse aim bot
No, reverse aim-bot makes you miss every shot. i will call that a target mover, where it moves your target to your shot

Hunter Webster look ok I’m ten I’ve been in the dart world since I was in my moms stomach and guess what I can barely hit a bull and I’ve been playing since I was 4
3 years of practice still wouldnt make you hit the bulllseyue consistently. look up some pro darts competitions, people have much more time of practice in the game but their accuracy still is far from perfect :)
wow.. three years of efforts condensed into a 5 minutes video.. that's admirable dedication! 😄
I guess I did good in English as well, I already knew the damn language, not much to learn after that.
bucky13 oh
Could you make this to only get triple 20's
Jordan Reay yes. I’m pretty sure he can program it to make it land at any spot on the board
Just change the origin of the machine ... It would take him literally 3 lines of code ^^ but a bullseye is more impressive than a 3x20 for the non initiaded
Simply lower the Dart-Board, so that the Triple-20 is there, where the Bullseye was.
But that would never equal 501 nor 301
Nor would a bunch of 50s...
This thing is like a deal with the devil: you would forever have the world record average of 150, without ever being able to win a single leg.
😂😂
Without finishing the leg you wouldn't have an average at all 😉
