This is controversial, but I’mma say it: I’d take Tre Cool over Travis Barker any day. He’s like the Ringo of punk - not too technically mind-blowing, but tons of personality and always rock-solid.
Just wanted to comment, that I do agree with your comment (not that there's anything wrong with TB) But Tré does also have his own completely amazing drum solos or breakdowns as well! Just check their first few albums for example, the complexity of some fills are mind blowing for usually a simple punk rock song!
Plus, Tre's beats are actually iconic. I can't think of a memorable Travis beat, whereas with Tre there's so many (Longview, American Idiot, the J.O.S solo, the Burnout solo... just to name a few)

Tre is one of the best songwriting drummers imo, everything he does perfectly accentuates and follows what’s going on in the song
