Thanks for checking up on me it means a lot😁☀️ I’ve took a little break to gather my thoughts but Im gonna release a video soon I can’t wait to see you there!
@@kenbulletdrums alrighty man well good luck with the new vid and I hope you feel better and I will pray for you so that you can get into the correct mind set! I love you man and good luck ❤️
I think Tre’s most identifiable charactistic is how stiff he plays on the hi-hat. Almost a robotically consistent velocity using less wrist and more elbow.
Elbow is for show, but he's still all wrist (as all good drummers are). It's an art to using correct technique while looking as if you're beating the shit out of the kit recklessly (think kieth moon)
Been watching Green Day live footage and watching his drumming really made it evident how important his playing style is to their overall sound. Not a lot of drummers do that. He’s rock solid, very technical, but definitely epitomizes the “less is more” approach with flashes at just the right time. Very much the same way Charlie Watts did for the Stones.
1:54 I listen to Green Day now for 13 years and play drums for 11 years because of Tré. This is the first time I ever see him playing a double bass pedal
There are drummers who are far faster, more technical, and better. But for the music he does and the energy and feel he brings to the drums is perfect, there is no punk rock drummer as well rounded and as fun to watch as tre cool
@@Somemusicguy1995 No musician is better than another. Like Tre said, he puts his signature in everything he plays. Same goes for every other musician, even if they are playing someone else's music. There'll still be something that makes them stand out.
💯 Yes!! And Green Day wouldn't be Green Day without Tre! Of course skill is important in a band but also the chemistry between band mates are equally as important! We see many bands break up or have problems, Green Day because the three of them are such good friends continue to make great music!!
@@Somemusicguy1995 Put THAT drummers with Green Day and I promise that NONE would play and sound like Tre. Don’t you get it?? It’s NOT who’s better because NOBODY it’s better, it’s not a race.
the best part was the last one. So true about Iconic /Influential drummers .They usually dont have Grade A chops or Grooves ,rather a mix of both . Thus they are recognizable drummers (atleast the BIG ONES). Good job KM. But whats your real name though? Secondly ,are you from the States or Japan?
@@kenbulletdrums Wow . That's great brother 👌 . I don't mean to be disrespectful to Japanese but your English is on point. I mean I don't hear that "Japanese Ingirisu"(Sora The Troll) accent ...you know . Anyways great job brother 👌. Keep them coming . Would love to see other Rock n Roll drum covers too. 😁😁
You know what I think makes drummers better? Learning another instrument. Learn to sing and play piano or guitar, then you'll see songs from other perspectives. And more perspective is always better than less.
@@musshwins412 The best drummer I’ve ever played with is the guy who is the guitar player at heart but when he was a kid his first band needed a drummer so he was willing to try it.
@Eggy drummer30 Yes. I'm saying exactly that. To be a better bass player you should learn how to sing. Being able to see a song from more than one perspective is always a good thing. The best drummer I've ever played with is a guitar player first and was forced to drums when he was in high school because he wanted to play in a band so badly but all the music kids already had 2 guitar players, his brother played bass and they had a singer so rather than fight over who would play what he just picke dup the drums and has been playing drums for 10 years now. He's still a better acoustic finger picker than most professional guitar players. But the reason for that I think is because he sees everything through a different view than from ONLY the drummer's perspective. It's like a racecar driver who doesn't know shit about car setup, vs one who knows quite a bit about it AND is a good racecar driver. That guy has a big advantage over the guy who's 1-dimensional.
@Eggy drummer30 No you don't understand, being the "best drummer in the world" doesn't matter a lick if you can't make good music. If all you know is drums you won't know when you're stepping on a cool guitar part with a drum fill, when there's a spot lacking that could use something as simple as a hi-hat chirp to make it super sick. You might be the "best" drummer around but you won't be as good of a musician. And at the end of the day you're a musician. Here's another analogy, say you're a corner in football and you don't know shit about playing safety, you might be the best corner in the league, but your defense would be overall better if you understand the entire thing and were able to fit within it. That's what a band is. If you know everything about each song and what each person is playing, you'll be better off for it. You can fight be on this all you like but your band would be better if you didn't just bury your head in the sand and reject learning new musical things because you're intimidated.
@Eggy drummer30 Because let's face it, you're not those guys. Nobody is lol. There are thousands of drummers scrolling through this comment section who play to nobody but the pictures on the wall. It will make you a better musician, at the end of the day you're making music, whether you play drums or any other instrument. So why would you want to avoid being a better musician? That's insane to me.
Nobody ever said that ringo starr is the most technical drummer ever…but it’s universally understood the guy is rock solid in his playing, timing is impeccable, and has the energy to charge through. Tre is no different. Guy is absolutely spot on in his playing and delivers. For those that didn’t know, he started out from a jazz background before Green Day.
I’d like to see Trey *not pull as much from the same quiver of licks over and over. He’s an extremely talented drummer that can express himself in so many different ways that many famous yet not as talent drummers can’t. I’m not saying he should play *more fills, just mix it up a bit but hey, I’m sure he lays awake at night worrying about shit head comments like this.
“A lot of guys play too many drum fills says drum fill heavy Tre Cool” Very surprised he understands rudiments but jazz is not his forte. A good drummer needs to be able to blend in with whatever style he is playing.
That's true but Tre Cool will never play anything besides rock music, so it doesn't matter if his Jazz sounds like rock drumming, that's fine, because he's a rock drummer and will always be one.
It's true that Tre Cool's drumming is a lot simpler than other drummers but it's all about listenability. Thomas langs drum solos may be incredible, but you listen to it once and you forget about it. But how many people listen to Green Day? A LOT! At the end of the day the more enjoyable thing to listen to is Green Day and a lot of the reason for that is Billie's incredible song writing and lyricism, but Tre Cool also plays a huge role in that as well.

Yeah man, in my mind I always compare Tre's hi-hat work to that of Scott Raynor's on Blink 192's Dammit, I mean that is some solid wristwork.
I think his use of the toms is most tre cool thing I can identify.
I definitely gotta improve using my wrist to play, im elbow dominant and gotta relax more when I play drums
Not really.

Same! Tre doesn't need the double to sound good! 🥁
look, I'm not a drummer... but this video is pure gold
Punk drummer shows up to the jazz gig is the best thing I've seen so far today.
Jazz is boring!!! Punk drummer makes Jazz gig fun!
That of all drummers he says to not play to many fills is hilarious :D but i love him for that

Hell Yeah Favorite Band And Drummer 🔥🥶💪🥁🤟
Can never get bored of Green Day !!
Structure the song first.
Put some signature after.
Great advice right there 🤘
Yup! We can hear his advice applied to Green Day songs that's why their so good ! 👏
Perhaps the most underrated drummer of all time
He's so rad
he's the best!
Your amazing dude
I’m 40. I have been a drummer since 5th grade. My 2 God tier drummers are Carter Beauford and Tre Cool. These two drummers …. To me … the GOATs 🐐.
Don't forget Zac Farro! He's so good
He’s so awesome!

So true.
If you can play piano, you basically have an understanding of what every other instrument should be doing.

All Drummers Listen To Trey
Wasn't Billie Joe's concern with Tre that he did too many fills?
Before kerplunk when Tre first joined there was an adjustment period but after that he is the best 🥁👍☀️

Rule 5- understand dynamics
of course he knows his rudiments! He's in one of the most successful bands in the world! Every drummer at that level does
