What a great ride as usual. Thanks for posting these videos letting someone like myself get to see parts of the world that in reality, I will never get to see.
Thanks for your kind donation, it's very much appreciated. Yes, compared to some other diesels I drive, this one is quite smooth. I make a point of including english subtitles in all my videos, sometimes below the regional language. I got a bit lazy here and left the German out.
Another excellent video and its amazing how much greenery there is in the industrial heart of Germany !! I have driven that road shown at the end many times including last month !!
Nice short trip! As always the description is precise and accurate! The weather is not so nice but according to Germany's enviroment it doesn't matter! i made my paper degree on urban renewal in Landschaftspark Duisburg Nord, not so far from here. We see in Ruhr, as well as in NordRhein Westfalen but as well as in Germany, there 's a plenty of lines, some also disused in the northen part of the region (Gladbeck, Buer, Recklinghausen). Thank u for your efforts.
That was really pretty interesting! Your discourse was great! The plant life along the way was quite nice, and I enjoyed the rain!! (Greetings from Tucson, where we relish rain!)
As nice as it looks its sad that this is what the Railway has come to (like the other lines you mentioned which were closed). Nonetheless, Amazing video!
Thanks for another interesting video. It's sad to see unused sidings and yards overgrown and no longer used, it's a similar picture over here in the UK. Back in the 1970s I visited the Ruhr (and the Rheine - Emden line) quite often to photograph the large number of steam locos still hard at work. On one occasion I went round Gelsenkirchen Bismarck steam depot and remember the depot and adjacent freight yards as very busy places.
excellent video (as usual) agree with you about the greenery - pity about the cloud and rain, would have looked fab with blue sky and sun (know you can't do anything about that,no criticism of you intended)
A great video, thanks! Your videos always brighten my day and bring happiness :-) The story and captions were great, and Nature provided a gray and rainy day to underscore the sad story. Question: how is it that you were assigned this task outside of Switzerland? Are you a free-lance driver called in to do special or unusual tasks around Europe (and in Switzerland)? I would have thought drivers belong to a company and only drive company trains (which is how it works, I think, at least here in Canada).
I do belong to a company that currently operates in a few countries. We also do work for other companies when they are short on drivers. Driving in more than 1 country is rare though, as each country requires a full training program including schooling, practical driving hours and a written and practal examination.

As someone who knows nothing about railway regulations/norms, I take it modern style of line maintenance would've cut down anything growing close to the tracks for safety reasons? Either way, a pleasant video, thanks for posting.
Thanks. Yes, usually trees have to be a certain distance from the tracks and even they can only be a certain height. Usually tracks are also kept free of weeds and plants.
By calling it a garden, I was kind of making fun of the state of the track. Parts of it are covered in greenery and the branches were hitting the side of the train.
When your thumbnail caught my eye, I first thought of "Is this another UK Narrow Boat" video showing a small canal in the british country side. But no... I just listened to the most recent livestream of "Der Silberling". This man has 40+ years experience about railway and he teaches a lot as well. He is so angry about the condition the DB is in at the moment. He moans about the lack of education, experiences and brain. But I say, Deutsche Bahn is just a mirrow of how the nowadays society appears like. Nowadays you have to be stupid, you have to be easiy to manipulate and you need to make yourself redicoulus on social media. And - to top this, this makes money for some people as well. And I still get to hear: "Germany is a great country with a strong economy!"... Im 2022. I run into depression earlier this year and last year, because I saw myself just surrrounded by iditots, zombies.
Another amazing and scenic trip! Your videos never cease to amaze me or disappoint. Thank you for the great effort you put in!
Thanks a lot

Thanks. I guess most people don't want to see videos like this, but it's the abandoned and neglected lines that really fascinate me.
@@lorirocks777 All that you post fascinates me since I have never been to any of these places.
@@kenyongray2615 Great to hear :)
Thanks!
Very interesting and so quiet, Also thank you for posting subtitles in English,

Ein interessanter Kontrast zu den blitzblanken Schweizer Gleisen..
I noticed just that when my train from Basel to Cologne had entered German railway territory. The contrast was colossal.
As always amazing.
Excellent video with lots of information in English (Yahoo) for a change. Thanks for your efforts.
As nice as it looks its sad that this is what the Railway has come to (like the other lines you mentioned which were closed). Nonetheless, Amazing video!
Nice video! Happy to be here! Thanks!
Beautiful footage!!
Short n Sweet Pack but got recharged by rainy romantic weather. When rain drops were falling on window glass i felt I am getting wet.
Great video!!!

That sounds very interesting. I think the old depot is now home to a museum.

Wow nice train ride man ✌😎
What is the length of 40 wagons? I am curious to have a sense, appreciation, of how massive is the train.

Are the people of Germany ready for this disaster in winter ❄️ with no fuel
We have no disaster in the Winter !!
