we have this stupid thing every year where we stay home for 2 days with loads of work i hate it
Edit: just some more.
They make the work as annoying as possible as well. For art/RE we had to make a stained glass window. The idea is you have one peice of work for every lesson you miss and it takes as long as a lesson. You get more work than you would miss and it takes longer. You end up needing to work into the weekend!

Its commonly found in the DJ world and many sound designers use it. Its a sampler. It basically allows you to pre-program sound effects or music into the button and with push of another you can affect dynamics of it.
