One day we see someone on xbox 360 playing forza turned out to be a an old clan member i was like is that him were like no way. Plug in a mic and go did you ever play this game? Yea did you know this guy? Yea well guess what bitch its me 😂 it was fucking insane.
I fuckin loved these games!! I used to play socom combined assault a lot. They will forever stay in my heart!! I loved kicking ass in these games!! I don't think I played the 1st one. And I haven't played Socom confrontation or Socom 4 yet..
I remember playing SOCOM at by buddy's house, and Jester was always the first SEAL to be KIA in our play sessions. To this day I always wondered if his AI reached peak derp levels.
30 years old now, SOCOM was a huge part of my "video game life". It was one of the first online multiplayer games. I remember playing SOCOM 1 online when I was 12 years old. A year after 9/11 happened in the United States. I remember being apart of a "clan" as we called them back then, with a bunch of real nice close knit guys. It was a lot different back then than it is now. Because the whole online thing was new you almost felt like you were truly friends with these guys. Some of the guys you played with would ship off to war, and you'd never hear from the guy again. I remember a guy from my clan sending me a beta version from fort brag ( i live in canada btw ) of the newest game that was about to come out. Looking back I can honestly say I lived through the best time when it came to online multiplayer video games. People will never experience the same thing now.
Comedy_ Yak being 29, I can completely agree with you. Socom 1 and 2 played a huge roll of my gaming up bringing. S2 will probably always be my most played game, especially as far as shooters go.
Damn, I'm about the same age, and SOCOM 1 and 2 were all I played as a kid, I never played online though, just the single player over and over lol I fucking love those games🖤
I think most people like 2 the best, and Specter, and don't get me wrong, I love Specter and SOCOM 2, but I love me some Kahuna, and my Boomer🖤 The first one will always be my favorite.
@T W I don't think so. Socom had some tactical gameplay. The squad mechanic was the main thing. Unless you mean the multiplayer. Then idk, I never played that.
@@cassolmedia dont be so sure, sony has fucked up big time on shooters before, and if it does come out what're the chances it's just a ghost recon level fuck up
@@mothdude4211 I may have misread the angst in that comment. I thought they were saying socom was basically call of duty... I have very little confidence in a faithful remake in today's climate. I can hope though lol
Pumpactionmusket pretty sure it’s an automated voice or text to speech system, they use things like this all the time in corporate and university technology systems for trainings, presentations etc. you’d be surprised what voice technology could do. If you listen very carefully to inhaling, exhaling, intonation, and pronunciation of words and phrases, sometimes the narrator sounds unnatural, and more like a robot or a text to speech system than a person. Can’t confirm without putting a face to him though.
I am SOCOM old school gamer. I've been watching this video with a mixture of sadness and sorrow feelings.. No words left to say and I am pretty sure all my fellow SOCOMs feel the same.
Me, my dad & uncle would play this together every day. They taught me everything I know about gaming & socom was my very first multiplayer. I’ll never forget
look out for H-HOUR on Steam. its 5$ or 10$ depending on when and where you are from. SUPPORT THE SOCOMS GAMES, get h-hour GET YOUR ASS ONLINE AND BRING YOUR FU&*&*(KING team online. CLAN WARS , PICK A MAP , A MODE. WE BEST OF 3 IN CROSSROAD GOOD LUCK HAVE FUN.
@NotoriousMMA16 Yes but no. It’s never really „too“ late for reboots, there could some completely different developer, maybe even indie Studio come up and say *aight let’s make a worthy remake* and the game could be good nonetheless. Also I want a worthy remake of Conflict Desert Storm ! (Kinda the same game)
Aurora yes it does go on the workshop for insurgency and look up the Socom mod(Its made by redline if that helps) should have download links etc for you. Great mod
I loved SOCOM so much when I was younger that I managed to print out sheet music and got my middle school band director, who was also a game nerd, to teach everyone how to play a bunch of the soundtrack. It was a thing of beauty.
@@RealAndrewOrtiz I know we played the main theme for socom 2 at a concert and it was recorded but that was son long ago the chances of me finding that thing are like... basically zero lol
Growing up playing Socom 2 at it's peak was amazing. There was nothing else like it at the time, it really was the turning point on the PS2 online community. Night's I'd spend with my buddies in lobbies all taking turns on the mic because only one person could speak at a time!
Their system was perfection, the ranking was based on skill ans strategy, clan system was ultimate made many friends and the best part Dancing on my enemies bodies LOL way better dances than FORNITE
*This game was literally my childhood and time spend with my father when I got PlayStation two for the first time... We played almost all levels and all the sequels of it together and this nostalgia really hits hard... Some really good* memories right there.
I only play a little bit of SOCOM 1 on the PS2 and recently bought SOCOM 4 on the PS3. Sony needs to bring this franchise back. Thanks for the video GVMERS!!
SOCOM was my life. I'm not really kidding. I had never been so completely engrossed and wrapped in a game until then, and I haven't been since. In 2002 I was in 10th grade. I bought the internet adapter to slap on the back of my big brick PS2. It was the first online game I had ever played. The intensity added when you knew you were playing real people and not a computer was something I had never experienced before. It was addictive. The fact that everyone had a mic meant not just team work and strategy, but socialization and friendship. Playing predominately in a mode that didn't just let you respawn made you really think about if you wanted to risk dying and sit and wait 5 minutes for the next round. No game has given me the same adrenaline as when it's down to just you against maybe 3 or 4 other guys, you know your teammates are all watching you, and you pull out the upset to comeback and win. I actually thought 3 was great. What wasn't mentioned here is that there was a huge uproar when the game required a credit card to be played online. They promised not to charge it (and they didn't) I think it was meant as a tactic to control the amount of fraudulent accounts being made for hacking, but a ton of people didn't trust it. I knew I had to rely on my dad to trust me with his credit card. Much of the players weren't at the age where they had a credit card. Also, the larger maps are cited as a reason people got scared away. I think that's probably bogus because every map had a "small" version, and anybody that stuck around long enough to actually play them saw that they were really fun and usually more popular than the larger versions. What really killed SOCOM was Confrontation. I was in college by then and didn't have a PS3 anyway, but my buddies that I played with all said it was a hot piece of garbage and that was largely due to the change in developers and that they didn't make the system leap to PS3. Anything that came after that wasn't trusted. I never played any SOCOM that wasn't on PS2. I conformed to playing Modern Warfare and Halo because everyone in college was, they were fun games but my friends quickly mocked me for how many times I'd say "In SOCOM..." when talking about a cool feature that wasn't in those games. It just had so much that I haven't seen in gaming since. So many filters for the maps, good game modes, night/day toggle, vehicles toggle, etc. I guess it's good there isn't a game like this out there anymore because I'm an adult with a fiancee, career, house, responsibilities, etc. and not some teenager that lives with mom and has unlimited time on his hands anymore. But damn I miss that game.
I remember watching my cousins play Socom 1 and 2 when I was really young. I imagine they were just as excited as you . I’m glad I got to experience some of the glory days as a kid
I'm glad someone else mentioned the video was wrong about the small maps and 16 player games being removed in S3. Hell, over half the S3 footage they showed were from small maps, some of which was from an S2 map. How they got that wrong is beyond me but it's otherwise a good documentary. I never played Confrontation but I did play 4 and it was complete dogshit. The campaign was so annoying that I never finished it, and I played the co-op and competitive modes for about an hour before trading it in. The PSP games were a lot of fun as well despite the lack of technical features
omg lmao now i remember finding sketchy credit card number generators and trying a ton of them before one worked so i could finally create a second account. those were the days.
As much as SOCOM II is still the peak of the series for me, I can still agree on SOCOM III's merits despite the backlash and lowering of the learning curve. Hope the creators rerelease/remaster the games these days.
FunkyCold theirs a rumor that a new socom game is being developed by guerrilla games for the PS5. Just a rumor, but there is some evidence. We know that guerrilla is indeed working on a Multiplayer game alongside HZD2.
This is just sad. SOCOM is the biggest reason why I've always despised COD. It influenced so many of my favorite shooters and turned them into complete shit or killed them off entirely. Thank God there's still passionate fans/developers out there trying to keep SOCOM alive. You guys can't be thanked enough.
I remember being 16 playing socom all night and day. I remember being so close to my clan of all different age groups to the point where we all met up in person and had a blast. I miss that and i miss how involved you had to be on socom. The competition. The rivalry. People would actually remember who you were! You actually had a reputation! Im 28 now and when i play ps4 its just a bunch of randomness. Its hard to get into these games now, cuz socom was all freestyle. You made of it what you wanted to. The games now seem so choreographed.
As a former SCEA employee (Foster City CA) who was with the company at the height of SOCOM and the first two consoles. I would pay for a PS5 if a remastered version of 1 and 2 were released.
Socom 1&2 was leadership boards. You could rank up and get knocked down based on how well you did. Vehicles and big maps ruined it. All they had to do was make everything look a little better and carry rank over with each iteration it would have never lost popularity.
I never played older games online so I don't know about the community, but I completely agree with both of you, SOCOM 1 and 2 are the best games I've ever played, I need them again, they need to be put in the ps store to buy digitally on ps4.
Once SOCOM Confrontation was patched, it was so much fun to play. I put in countless hours with my clan online. SOCOM 1, 2, 3, and CA were all amazing fun on the PS2 and still are pure nostalgia in single player... RIP to my most favorite gaming series...
It was a buggy unplayable mess but once the “tax day” patch (as we called it) dropped, that shut was AMAZING! Which goes to show once again that it’s better to delay a product and fix the issues rather than release it with issues. Sony And slant six were trying to get out the gate early on those holiday sales which just ruined it. They could’ve waited till summer and had a good initial reviews which would’ve helped sales.
I played Confrontation in our local movie theater a lot with 5.1 Dolby digital surround sound. I feel like they should win an award for the time they put into that game with JUST the sound effects alone. Every gun sounded different (unlike Destiny or COD) and the realism of grenades/explosives was unreal. You could hear bullets whizzing past your head. Confrontation was definitely my favorite after all the bugs were patched. Too bad it didn't have all of the SOCOM 2 maps and single player mode.
PT crossroads frostfire fox hunt requiem rats nest nightstalker blizzard sandstorm sujo enowapi blood lake rotten jungle ruins mixer shadows fall I remember all boys (I missed a couple lmao)
I still remember the very first time I got my hands on SOCOM NAVY SEALS! My god I was so damn immersed in that game. And one day my techy uncle has mentioned a thing called system link and said you will be able to play against other people, my mind was absolutely blown!! It was amazing. And I wish they would do a remaster of the first game. So damn iconic
I think the greatest and most looked over thing that made socom great, was the Lobby system! Being able to easily hook up with your clan, invite another clan to your room and talk shit before your battle!... Till this day, I remember every clan I was apart of, and still keep in contact with some of the members via social media..
[You wrote :the greatest and most looked over thing that made socom great, was the Lobby system} .My comment : Yes that what was fantastic about socom & hardware online arena that being the lobby & talking smack at opponents hahaha
Man, this game is my childhood; it got me into online gaming. SOCOM may be gone, but I will have the memories forever. Thank you, Zipper Interactive. Thanks for putting this video together. I miss this game so much. I hope we see another one day
Do we know if the narrator or other staff at GVMERS read the comments? I don't recall ever seeing them around. For what it's worth, I think you guys do an insanely good job, not only with amazing production value and quality but you push content far more frequently than should be physically possible considering the work put in. Well job, good done.
God bless you Seth Luisi for helping with the development of the headset. SOCOM would not have been the same without it and I might not have ever built a love for multiplayer games otherwise.
The thing that made socom 1 and 2 online multiplayer what it was, was THE MOVEMENTS of the players, the damage each bullet would inflict on the body, the straffing back and forth, the AIMING of the shooter. These things required skill and practice. Even the shape of the cross hairs and the size of bodies on the screen were important, as were map size and team size. This was the core of the game. The follow up games needed to keep these core features to have success, and any changes needed to be to the outer layers of the game. New maps, better graphics, etc.. are outer layers. All these idiot developers had to do was keep the core of the game and update a few of the outer layers and they would have kept community support and continued to grow. Socom 1, 2 were the peak of online shooters in my opinion and no game has ever come close to matching them.
God imagine SOCOM today on PS5 with dualsense and haptics with today's graphical power. Now that COD is Microsoft's property, SONY needs to reconsider bringing something like this back into light.
Sony is dumb, they literally have many of the greatest shooters franchises of all time under their belt and choose not to use them: socom, resistance, killzone, even an online only uncharted multi-player would be killer.
R.I.P. SOCOM. It all went downhill after 2. SOCOM lost its identity. 3 tried to be Battlefield, Combined Assault was just a glorified expansion to 3, Confrontation was good, but took damn near a year before it was playable and by then hackers/glitchers had taken over. 4 tried to be CoD. Socom stopped being SOCOM. Sony abandoned it to push Killzone in their dire search of "A Halo Killer" not realizing they had one all along.
Loved them, 1,2 and the Vietnam one were all good. Playing the living shit out of ghost recon wildlands, ghost mode w/assists, compass, markers all off, much more immersive, probably smash the controller to bits when I die though
yes clan battles were so perfect plus people worked as a team back then unlike now that everyone goes everywhere n does their own thing some people dont even talk or communicate. back then it was required
I remember playing this game at my grandpas house (I took it everywhere) I recall him getting upset and saying “these games are too realistic these day’s” being a WW2 vet that lost friends and family to the war, he wasn’t happy.
Lol...i said that the other day while playing Friday the 13th and it felt so good. Now I play Socom VR aka Firewall Zero Hour and I have never been happier.
The community as whole was toxic as shit. Most unhelpful noob unfriendly cocksuckers ever to grace online gaming. Best online gaming experiance of my life. Unironically 75% of my current online friende were also socom friends.
The tg211 imo I'd have to disagree yea there were toxic players in socom but other then hardcore shit talkers I ran into few people who wanted me to stop playing etc cod was worse by 100 miles.I've been called a nigger wayyyy more on cod then socom back in the day and even then that was little to none. That's just my experience though.
Socom literally changed my life. It wasn't just a game for me... it was the first time where me and my dad spent a huge amount of time together. I was so young, but my dad loved playing with me. Because of nostalgia, and memories... this is thee best game ever made.
I remember when s2 first came out no one used it. Then like a year later it was the go to gun. M14 went from the hardest gun to use to the noob gun lol.

GB’ing all night long with your buddies on Socom was one of my most memorable moments in competitive gaming. Never again will there ever be a skill based TPS like Socom 2. 😢 I miss the days where the community would come together and vote off players who tried to ruin games. Shoutouts to anyone that remembers No IW/GL/M3’s.
Right!!! Those were the days.. the Clan Wars were my favorite... i remember the guys had me get my skills up before i played in a war... lol Socom 2 will always be remembered and missed.
Lol those were the overpowered weapons if I’m not mistaken. I was 13 when I played these socoms so I was young but I definitely love frostfire and crossroads!
Ahhh yes!! The nostalgia is strong with this one! The first SOCOM blew my mind. I can’t think of any other game at the time that allowed you to issue voice commands to your A.I. squad members. SOCOM 2 was even BETTER! I immediately went to my local army surplus store and bought myself a woodland camo boonie hat for full immersion. I must have watched the included “What’s it Like to Be a U.S. NAVY SEAL” documentary a few dozen times. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Breakpoint are the only game(s) that comes close to scratching that SOCOM itch.
I've never met better online friends than in SOCOM 3! I was a squeaky middle schooler brought into a clan with members many years my senior. They were friends, role models, and confidants for a kid that didn't quite fit in. They made me laugh and gave me life lessons. I really wish there was another game out there that had such a nice community. Maybe, one day I'll be in a clan that helps teach the younger generation but, I doubt it. There's just not games like SOCOM anymore.
Gosh darn it, the intro music got me right away. The lobby music for socom 2 and 3 were freaking AWESOME! Such nostalgia man. My childhood was freakin awesome with this game. I can remember it like it was yesterday the first time I put the headset on at my friends house who was playing this. The fact that you can talk to other people and play online against eachother freakin blew my MIND. It was so ahead of its time and pure fun and competitive. Once my friend told me I had to buy the internet adapter for the back of the ps2 to play online I instantly went and got one for myself and the game with the headset. THE GOOD OLD DAYS!! GRENADA!!!! 1v1 me up the middle on crossroads!! IW80 NOOB! M14 SCRUB! LOL I was so freakin good at shooting the M16 fast it sounded like it was auto! The way the burst fire worked on the M16 made it so you really had to time the burst perfectly to get it to shoot fast and really had a skill gap and that’s one reason what made socom so fun. I remember some people literally couldn’t use it because it was to hard to shoot it fast. I had the timing down perfect haha. Back when fire button was R1! Frost fire was my all time favorite!
Socom truly was best online experience i've ever had. It was way before its time. The server structure created close communities, the mechanics paved way to fun yet competitive feel and the maps made ever lasting memories. Sony really dropped the ball on this IP. It could have gone so far.
Hell yeah! As a U.S. Navy veteran and PlayStation enthusiast, I absolutely love this franchise. It would be so unprecedented and welcomed for SONY to reboot SOCOM for the PlayStation 5. 😲
I have to mention I am among a very few good men who accomplished a ten year span of training with SOCOM. Just how many hours, head shots, hits, kills, missions accomplished is unknown and incredibly high numbers. I retired from all video games in 2012. I sold all game consoles and games except for SOCOM series. Hats off to anyone who played this series for decade. I did not play online though. I had fulltime work, biking, hiking, golf , weights and a plethora of other hobbies. Be well rounded. Always be active and strong in body, mind, spirit. Godspeed☆
I might be alone here but I logged soooooo many hours on the fire team bravo series. Particularly number 2. The online for this game was insane for its time. AND ON A FREAKING MOBILE CONSOLE! man I cannot Express how much I loved these games. And these maps. Ugh! I wish I could go back in time when the lobbies were full and play it.
I'm with you. Me and my best friend played the hell out of that. The levels, customization, clans, community all added to an incredible experience. Even the hackers were kind of funny
How much do they pay you to be here? Nobody gives a fuck about Insurgency on PC. People want SOCOM for console, not a mod for some completely different PC game that attempts to copy SOCOM. Insurgency is dead, hence why you apparently have to wait until 9pm just to find a fucking room to play in. Hahaha
Damn this music is making me feel nostalgic. As a hardcore fan of the series I appreciate this video. I started playing the SOCOM series in I want to say 2004 when I was 14. It was SOCOM 2. I started playing it one night when my mom went to my older brothers place for something. He let me try it out and was immediately fascinated and hooked. I couldn't believe this technology at the time and speaking to others through a headset was a new thing to me and frankly I didn't know if it was real or not lol. Broadband Internet wasn't a mainstay in a lot of peoples and my parents couldn't afford it. So in order to get my fix I had arrangements to go to my older brothers house every weekend. Hell, I even remember going out and buying a network adapter for my PS2 and bringing it over to his house just so we could play together. I spent so much time playing SOCOM 2. My parents eventually got internet for a whopping price of $35 a month for unlimited high speed broadband with no data cap like today. It was so much fun I remember coming home from school every day and delaying doing homework just so i can hop online to play with my clan. Frostfire, Fishhook, Desert Glory, and Crossroads in my opinion are still among of the greatest multiplayer maps ever in my opinion. Years passed and new SOCOM games started to release and I would continue only to play SOCOM 2 although it wasn't as frequent as I did in my earlier days. So I purchased SOCOM 4 and it released the same week that Anonymous hacked the network and it was down for a while. I remember being so mad because all of the friends that I made back in my childhood days were going to be reunited and our old guild would be back. The network eventually came back and we ended up getting the band back together but it just wasn't the same. It didn't feel like SOCOM. No leaning around corner nothing the shooting felt off and on top of that you played as NATO Forces not SEALs. Years have passed by since then and I recently came across a bundle of SOCOM 2 and a slim PS2 with a built in network adapter and discovered a new way to play online. XLINK KAI revived my once burning passion for SOCOM but it was so bad online. Code 9ers and Glitchers everywhere. I would get booted all the time it was just not the same. So Zipper went out of business so I guess there is no hope for a Socom 2 HD remaster. Although I don't play SOCOM anymore, nothing will ever take away the memories and friends that I made and still have today. and believe it or not I was a LEGIT captain that nearly made Admiral before the fuckheads took over.
I don't know about anyone else but I get the feeling we are going to have videos about bioware bungie 343 treyarch infinity ward and sledgehammer games on the rise and fall of these studios a lot sooner then later .
the first 2 game are so nostalgic to me ,I'm sad about not playing none of the other games and even more to see how the franchize and the team ended up
I remember full well when Sony was hacked. Seems like ages ago. Service took 2 months to be re-estabilished in South America. What a mess that was. At least they gave us Infamous and a few other games for free.
i still remember booting up socom II for the first time after being obsessed with the 1st one. I got to play all night on my grandparents big screen tv. i was hooked all over again.
AK40CHICKEN i bought MAG when it came out, i tried to understand the game but i never really underatood anything that was going on or how to do things. I played ot for like 2 months, but then my profile got delete out of no where and i had to restart over and i gave up. The game was bad. Its animations and movements where terrible. The shooting mechnics were awful too. The graphics were ok but it was the art style that made everything look like shit and hard to see. The frame rate was bad. The sound design was bad too.
@Shorty DS1 is a flawed game, but poor level design isn't one of them. From an overworld standpoint, it's pretty well constructed with its interconnectivity, and encourages exploration without overwhelming players. The warp ability could have been thrown in sooner to ease exploration, but it appears right before the lack of it becomes a huge liability. I do think Bloodborne did better in this area, and DS3 made great improvements on the series's overall even if it lacks DS1's vibrant color scheme. Blighttown and the Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith were genuinely awful, I'll give you that.
Thank you for this video. I gotta say, as a Socom 2 pro, managing 16 rosters of people in MOC (men of color) The next best game in the series was Combined Assault. If you recognize that tag, my handle was Oodie, and I’ve missed all of you for years. Especially my old best friend Zombied.
Slight correction, Socom originally came bundled with a special SOCOM branded headset. Sony released a different official headset that was different. Both were decent-good quality.
Da_xavier Hell yeah man! 🤘 Citadel was probably one of my favorite maps to play. I remember having the old fat ps2 with the big arse brick of an online adapter. Good old days 😂😂😂
The Combined Assault game was one of the greatest things of my childhood, it will stick with me forever, especially it's soundtrack, my god that masterpiece still gives me goosebumps to these days. Thanks auntie for gifting me such a piece of art, love you!
MAG was my favorite game ever, it was criminally underrated and suffered from a lot of problems initially and Zipper didn't handle it well over its lifetime. It could have lasted so long but they didn't support a lot of community requested features like clan battles which eventually drove its core community away. But the few times when two clans would queue up together and manage to both get into the same match, were some of the most intense gaming moments ever. Nothing like a 64 vs 64 man clan battle.
The clan debacle was Sony's doing. Zipper had everything planned in the patch for release, and it was all ready to go. But then, Sony stepped in and said that 'clan battles would lead to unnecessary competition and fighting', or some bullshit, and zipper had to pull the plug on it overnight. It then became known as 'clan deploy', and took all the fun out of the game. Sony really fucked up with MAG. And so did zipper. Had they not wasted time using assets from MAG to release the half baked socom 4, MAG would still be around today.
Same here bro 2019 and no game comes close to mag all we get is 20v20 PvP is battlefront or 32=32 battlefield yet there still redundant compare to mags squad leaders n squad s who all try to achieve the same objectives
i played socom first, then i cound the conflict series. i couldnt help but be reminded of socom while playing them, particularly the single player, but thats a good thing in my book. they were both great series

Comedy_ Yak your words are true that’s exactly how it was my clan wouldn’t even tea bag becouse it was desrespctful
They will never know because they were too busy playing on Xbox at the time :/.
I salute zipper and all Socom fans for their dedication.🇺🇸
Back when games were pure fun with no pay wall
yeah it was good than
If SOCOM is revealed or even announced in PS5. I'll flip my shit.
same! It could be soooooo good with the current level of tech we have.
How would it be possible?
@T W I don't think so. Socom had some tactical gameplay. The squad mechanic was the main thing. Unless you mean the multiplayer. Then idk, I never played that.
@@cassolmedia dont be so sure, sony has fucked up big time on shooters before, and if it does come out what're the chances it's just a ghost recon level fuck up
@@mothdude4211 I may have misread the angst in that comment. I thought they were saying socom was basically call of duty... I have very little confidence in a faithful remake in today's climate. I can hope though lol
The narrator is almost too good for this channel.
Pumpactionmusket I hope they pay him good!
I hope one day he'll narrate high budget documentaries which fuel my weekly weed smokin sessions
Pumpactionmusket This is what a PhD in video game history sounds like.
Johann Labertaler you just gave gay children cancer
I am SOCOM old school gamer.
I've been watching this video with a mixture of sadness and sorrow feelings..
No words left to say and I am pretty sure all my fellow SOCOMs feel the same.

I am with you my brother but am sure we would rise again
i miss Socom 2 😢
Me, my dad & uncle would play this together every day. They taught me everything I know about gaming & socom was my very first multiplayer. I’ll never forget

Yes but no.
It’s never really „too“ late for reboots, there could some completely different developer, maybe even indie Studio come up and say *aight let’s make a worthy remake* and the game could be good nonetheless.
Also I want a worthy remake of Conflict Desert Storm ! (Kinda the same game)
Slightly Washed Pod yes it does
Sony clowns dont wanna do it. Would be nice if it could be crowd funded somehow.
Just hearing the music brought me back . I loved this series especially Socom 2

Ryu Cartel lol oh well I have it i just gotta re install it. Doing it now. Hope it works lol

Hearing the music for the first time in years hit me right in the feels.
Literally had flash backs 😔
I loved SOCOM so much when I was younger that I managed to print out sheet music and got my middle school band director, who was also a game nerd, to teach everyone how to play a bunch of the soundtrack.
It was a thing of beauty.

BlackFlame450 4 is great
Man just hearing the ost gave me goosebumps 15 years later. This game was such a huge part of my childhood
That "Seals Victorious" gave me a BIG 😁
You and me both ❤️ SOCOM 3
Agreed 100% , I played all day and night especially during 2 week Christmas breaks. I was highly addicted.
omg lmao now i remember finding sketchy credit card number generators and trying a ton of them before one worked so i could finally create a second account. those were the days.
As much as SOCOM II is still the peak of the series for me, I can still agree on SOCOM III's merits despite the backlash and lowering of the learning curve.
Hope the creators rerelease/remaster the games these days.
I don't have a PS4, but it Sony came out with a Socom 1 or 2 remastered. I would buy a PS5 just for that game. Damn I miss Socom
And Socom misses you
FunkyCold theirs a rumor that a new socom game is being developed by guerrilla games for the PS5. Just a rumor, but there is some evidence. We know that guerrilla is indeed working on a Multiplayer game alongside HZD2.
Same here and my wife would kill me hearing those grenades go off again
Man all 46 of us would play 😂 but really I would
Remake the first game with the same online maps & new ones. Although it probably wouldn't be as popular these days & that's unfortunate.
I met some of my best friends who I never met in real life through SOCOM. Amazing series with a great community.

What Intel can you provide us with about said incident involving employment at SCEA?
They should do that with the ps5.... They could make so..SO much money..
what does you being a former employee have anything to do with what you just said....and ull buy a ps5 regardless
Socom 1&2 was leadership boards. You could rank up and get knocked down based on how well you did. Vehicles and big maps ruined it.
All they had to do was make everything look a little better and carry rank over with each iteration it would have never lost popularity.
Socom 2 was the greatest gaming of my life the community was so good
Socom 2 remastered would be the greatest thing to ever happen to playstation
I never played older games online so I don't know about the community, but I completely agree with both of you, SOCOM 1 and 2 are the best games I've ever played, I need them again, they need to be put in the ps store to buy digitally on ps4.
I'd happily pay $50 for a remastered package for ps4 containing SOCOM 1 and 2.

For what it's worth, I think you guys do an insanely good job, not only with amazing production value and quality but you push content far more frequently than should be physically possible considering the work put in. Well job, good done.
Yes, very much read the comments, and I very much appreciate your comment as well! Thank you!
Gary Baker one of the few games that really counted true head shots
I freakin' loved the SOCOM series back then. Learned so much more about it from this video. Keep up the hard work GVMERS!

Sony is dumb, they literally have many of the greatest shooters franchises of all time under their belt and choose not to use them: socom, resistance, killzone, even an online only uncharted multi-player would be killer.
The memories of being 13 playing Socom Combined Assault on my PS2, what a simpler time.

Socoms community was racist, toxic, homophobic, and exploited the game with cheats. Socoms community was awful
The community as whole was toxic as shit. Most unhelpful noob unfriendly cocksuckers ever to grace online gaming. Best online gaming experiance of my life. Unironically 75% of my current online friende were also socom friends.
The tg211 you think socom was bad try growing up playing cod4 bro.
I moved from SOCOM to COD 4. Believe me when i tell you SOCOMs community was more toxic, by far.
Once my friend told me I had to buy the internet adapter for the back of the ps2 to play online I instantly went and got one for myself and the game with the headset.
THE GOOD OLD DAYS!!
GRENADA!!!!
1v1 me up the middle on crossroads!!
IW80 NOOB!
M14 SCRUB! LOL
I was so freakin good at shooting the M16 fast it sounded like it was auto!
Im not emotionally ready
But i will watch this one day
It was a hard watch. Brought back so many feels.
jheez wiiz BRUH I FEEL YOU
Socom was the first game that I truly fucking loved.
The online was amazing.
Unreal that no one has fucking remade socom or made a ACTUAL AAA new socom game
Speaking as someone that was there for all of it, this video is very accurate.
Socom truly was best online experience i've ever had. It was way before its time. The server structure created close communities, the mechanics paved way to fun yet competitive feel and the maps made ever lasting memories. Sony really dropped the ball on this IP. It could have gone so far.
SOCOM 1 & 2 anyways - the rest where trash
Thomas Edward
True. The downfall started with Socom III.
[MOB] Shady , [CsC] Shady
Thomas Edward Even the single player was way ahead of it's time... Just the ability to give voice commands to your A.I. teammates was amazing
I couldn’t agree more. My fav multiplayer game ever
Hell yeah!
I logged a lot of hours into the PSP titles too. But mostly the campaigns. Played little competitive in those games. Still fun though
Those psp versions of socom were not bad at all. I enjoyed em. They shouldve made a Vita one.
@dayzgone Being able to complete a crosstalk objective and it affecting other version of the game, to this day, impresses me
I'm with you. Me and my best friend played the hell out of that. The levels, customization, clans, community all added to an incredible experience. Even the hackers were kind of funny
Man, me and my buddies loved us some SOCOM on PS2 and dancing over defeated enemies!
Hahaha
Easy, calm down there peasant. The guy is just recommending some SOCOM style goodness. Which we could all use in our lives.
Ha! You probably did! I gave away PLENTY of kills while I was dancing around! I got such a kick out of it. I'll check this Insurgency out. Thanks!
StayPlation so true no other game can out socom SOCOM
Dancing over enemies while sending a rick James taunt lol
Rondais Fort u right
Another master piece by this channel, got into bed and smiled as soon as i saw the notification, late night watching then sleep, couldn't be happier.
the first 2 game are so nostalgic to me ,I'm sad about not playing none of the other games and even more to see how the franchize and the team ended up
I remember full well when Sony was hacked. Seems like ages ago. Service took 2 months to be re-estabilished in South America. What a mess that was. At least they gave us Infamous and a few other games for free.
That intro music still gives me that giggle after all those years, Socom 2 was my favourite :3
AW yes back when they used actual Orchestras to make their music. spine chilling nostalgia
i still remember booting up socom II for the first time after being obsessed with the 1st one. I got to play all night on my grandparents big screen tv. i was hooked all over again.
Do you want to play Socom 1/2/3/CA online again ?

You're Welcome.
Man I remember MAG only started playing it in 2013 but still had a lot of fun with it. I wish there was a game like it now.
Planet side 2 is semi similar
I do agree ps2 is closest to it atm. However if you have a laptop, dont hope it'll run smoothly
SOCOM 1 is twice as hard as dark souls.
Yup. Annoying respawning enemies. :(
@Shorty DS1 is a flawed game, but poor level design isn't one of them.
Said @Shorty while playing his generic 3rd person shooter action adventure game with stealth elements.
TheShadowReaper doesn't make what he said any less true.
Chex2331 what he said was never true in the first place
Thank you for this video.
I gotta say, as a Socom 2 pro, managing 16 rosters of people in MOC (men of color) The next best game in the series was Combined Assault.
If you recognize that tag, my handle was Oodie, and I’ve missed all of you for years. Especially my old best friend Zombied.
Slight correction, Socom originally came bundled with a special SOCOM branded headset. Sony released a different official headset that was different. Both were decent-good quality.
Omg 30+mins of socom nostalgia!? Im in bois!!! 😂🤣💪
Glorious video! I cried bois... the nostalgic feels were to much... 😃😃😃
Sony, how could you! You killed my childhood... 😭😭😭
John Menardi right? 30 mins of glorious socom brought me back to endless summer weekends and late night clan battles with the boys.
Da_xavier Hell yeah man! 🤘 Citadel was probably one of my favorite maps to play.
I remember having the old fat ps2 with the big arse brick of an online adapter. Good old days 😂😂😂
Having to buy it separate from your system and it was like 60$ haha
@@johnmenardi2097 socomcommunity.com
We still play Socom online everyday, she never died...
The Combined Assault game was one of the greatest things of my childhood, it will stick with me forever, especially it's soundtrack, my god that masterpiece still gives me goosebumps to these days. Thanks auntie for gifting me such a piece of art, love you!
You can still play online
@@50magz that's crazy, but i guess there's no one playing right?
@@inaki.arambarri games up every night on CA 8pm est s2 has 50+ a night
What a great video. So interesting that all of these franchises were gaming staples of my formative years, and few of them survived.
That game had so much potential I would see some company really take interest in what MAG tried to do.
I miss this game so much 😪
Wish we could turn back time, to the good old days
I used to destroy noobs on SOCOM 😓
DomisLive NEWS which one?
You can still play on Xlink.
Appreciate the Hip Hop news mann.
Dom play socom
You was a butter stick lol stop playing
Do Conflict Desert Storm
Harrison McKinney God I miss that game
Replayed it using an emulator somewhat recently and it still has its charm
Or Conflict Vietnam.
The Conflict series was a classic
i played socom first, then i cound the conflict series. i couldnt help but be reminded of socom while playing them, particularly the single player, but thats a good thing in my book. they were both great series
I played Socom on the PSP as a kid. Absolutely loved it. It was actually the first game I ever played through :)
