A dreamlike performance; perhaps this is how prokofiev ought to sound
Sayaka is my favourite violinist to listen to among my grandchildren's generation. I've never heard such intelligent and musicial Prokofiev since Oistrakh in my childhood.
Oistrahk's rendition is the bar I compare everything else. Was Mozart violin concerto No 5 (or maybe it was #3) on the other side?

Marvellous violinist! Very beautiful Prokofiev concert. Outstanding orchestra performance & Great conductor.
Given its wonderful delicate and soothing appeal to the sense this is a strange comment, but I think this is intellectually fortifying music. I'm working on something that's demanding some clear thought and music like this is a wonderful accompaniment.

I heard many versions of this piece.Fortunately,I heard her live of this concerto in Tokyo. It was dreamily fantastic.Yuri Temirkanov told her that she was a genuine Prokofiev player,she understood psychology of Prokofiev very well.Yuri Temirkanov found her genius at first in modern music in her teens.

I had the opportunity to watch this live today. With the complete ensemble: Sayaka Shoji, violin, Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra and Yuri Temirkanov, conductor. Excellent performance.
@ 7'40"- 8'40'" Sayaka shows her mastery - never heard someone play that section so vibrantly. Haunting.

I recently attended a concert by an aspiring violinist who played this violin concerto. Compared to Sayaka Shoji, she still has a lot to learn.

I believe it is the Recamier, but that it looks brown here due to the low-light conditions. Sure sounds like it, anyway. Notice the stand lights used by many of the orchestral musicians.
Yes, it is the Recamier. With a perfect setup as it seems. Sound and power are incredible

Un ser acima de la humanidade. Maravillosa ! Y claro, Prokofieff , la orquestra y Maestro Termikanoff.
I know several people here are quite enthusiastic: my opinion is that her bow arm is quite vulgar at times and the sound quality not optimal... She is very gifted of course but focuses to much on a projective and loud sound. The second movement is not at all delicate and lacks subtlety... In my opinion, after having heard several of her performances, I do not believe she is a great violinist.
