Some information. Trusses, metal, screws, ridge cap came from Jackson Metal Roofing Supply in Forsyth, Ga. About 40 miles from building site. Howard has worked for me for 15+ years. He is like family. He starts chemo AND radiation late next week, so pray for him. When Howard knew he was going to be out some, he recommended Larry, who has turned out to be another good’un. Richard works for my brother on his cattle farm and we borrowed him for a few days. Howard started helping Wes on off days a few years back. A little background: Wes’s grandmother taught me in high school 60 years ago. Our families have interacted for at least that many years. I believe this is the 4th video Wes has done on our place. Two on Felling and Milling Pines, building a Homestead Shelter, and this one. Yes, the metal screws had washers. Yes, we are going to put diagonal bracing on the building next week. Wes can pin this if he sees fit.
I enjoyed watching the process. Great drone work and loved the music, too. I want to see this grand shed in person, Mark. Maybe the next time Dan and I are en route to the beach. Praying for Howard!
Hat's off to Howard, Larry, and Richard again, tell 'em Ron says, "Hi." They're handier than a 2-pocket shirt. That was an incredible video. Thanks so much for creating it. Hope your finger heals quickly.
Really enjoyed the video. Sure was good to see Howard again and nice to meet Larry and Richard. Looks like Howard knew what this job was going to entail so he brought reinforcements. He figured he was going to need all the help he could get to keep you in line 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣. Stay safe, GOD BLESS and see ya on the next one.
It looks great!! Back in 2014 my husband was building a Gazebo in my back yard. Our daughter wanted to be married under it. In the middle of it all he had to have surgery on his left thumb joint to stabilize the joint thanks to R.A. The next day he was back to building that gazebo, hand in cast and all. You remind me of him. He always built anything needed around here, was willing to do anything for our friends. Just rarely asked for help. Don't do that please, ask for it when you need it.
Few RUclipsrs are conscientious enough to show respect for the sound track and music that (usually) enhances their channel. I checked out Gabriel Lewis' music thanks to your calling attention to this fine artist. Methodical melody leading up to a great conclusion. And a great shed too!
Nice job. Good to see Howard again. Getting the trusses up in place looked like a challenge. Will be a nice shed when he gets it complete. Thanks for bringing us along.
The right tool for the job.. makes work easier and fast. VERY obvious that this isn't the first building you've put up... tractor bucket to stand up the posts.. Good looking building!
A tip from a boy scout. In building several outdoor shelters,, think roof, trusses, shingles supported by 6X6s,,, Not unlike your structure at all. I just build them with no walls. Ya wanna make them extremely stable? Spread the legs. If the exact truss length is 24',, and the exact building top plate length is 50 feet Then position the base of your 6X6 columns each one or two inches wider in both length and width. An inch in increase will have the column bases exactly 24'2" X 50' 2" A two inch out of plumb will increase the spread of the bottom to 24' 4" X 50' 4" The increase in stability in a wind is startling. A one inch out of plumb is undetectable. A two inch out of plumb can only be seen by a well trained eye in a 9 or 10 foot to top of plate tall structure.
Sir, hands down, you are one hard working man. As I watch your videos I begin to wonder if there is something you can’t do! Wish you the best that life can offer. Be safe!
That's why this channel is growing like a weed - great content, well presented and love the music. Plus it turned out to be a fantastic shed ... even if some of the techniques wasn't OSHA approved. Thanks Wes and stay safe.
I liked the hoist you was using to raise the trusses. Not sketchy at all if well secured to the trailer. Roofs do get hot cause it's closer to the sun. Maybe it's God's reminder of what can happen if you don't act right!
It was a good hoist, we had it strapped down good, no problem at all. I only know of one man who acted good enough to avoid that kind of heat, Jack. It wasn't me. But I know Him. John 3:16.
These engineered trusses are just flat awesomeness minimal waste huge time saver. Am thinking I want concrete piers just to make it easy on me. Great build guys
This was a fantastic video!! From the build to the satire, music and editing!! Great content; I hope you reach over a million views on this! Great stuff! 👍🏻
13:07 😳🤣 Pretty sketchy build there Wes. But like you said, no one got hurt. 😁 Love watching friends getting together to help each other out. God bless you all. Said a prayer for Howard. Great video. Thank you Wes. 👍
I built a 24x24 out of steel and I learned that you should put the side pannels up first because that roof gets very shakey. I am glad you had friends and a tractor I did not.
Great video and full of detail someone might need for tackling the project. Only comment (corrective in nature) would be the screw placement. The screws should not be out in the middle of each 12" section but about an inch left of each rib. This way the last screw on each panel is very close to the seam and helps prevent it from lifting in high winds. Also the top and bottom edges should have double screws as that is where the lift starts.... Just a little more durable in high winds and the way you see it commercially. Thanks for the great video...
Nice building. I enjoyed watching all the hard work. I was concerned about safety in the work area. Glad no one was hurt. The other thing I noticed was the location of screws holding the sheet metal down. Screws should be put on top of the ridge not on the flat area. I hope the roof does not leak, lots of hard work.
Son, that looked like a good old fashioned midwest barn raising with more than a little Southern flair. But, when you got up on top without a safety harness you worried me a bit because that's a looooooong way down if you slip, and slips happen to the best of us from time to time. Looks really good at the end of the day.
A step latter attached with baling wire to the pallets greatly increases your height range. Healing fast means the blood is down to just oozing when its bent LOL . Good video you would bee a great neighbor.
Even if it was red soil, I wish you had put water in it and compressed the poles with small stones or used quick-hardening mortar, but the background music explains everything :) Will Harrison was Baptized and Buried...regards. ..
@ 3:07 Did you hear that loud boom? lol I was gonna comment that this would make a good OSHA video... I'm glad I found this I got some answers as to how I was going to set my trusses on my bark kit
Looking forward to living in my dream house! Thank you, Ryan's, for not only the initial support with your special but ongoing support through my build! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxe81Bz076USDt6sYU1rDcNa2LwCIKADgB Experience has been amazing so far! Made the process easy.
I wondering if the steel trusses make it easier or cheaper, never built with them , looks like a lot of 2 by material up top. Just curious the advantages or disadvantages vs. traditional ?
Muy bueno el video de acá de Argentina te hablo nosotros acá en Argentina ponemos los tornillos en la chapa en la cresta mayor no hay posibilidad de que se llueva
Did you char the ends of those wooden uprights to prevent rotting? It's very important. Of course I don't want to tell my grandmother how to suck eggs! Those OSHA guys will have you all wearing hardhats., steel toe boots and harnesses.
Pop the sound of OSHA l😂😂😂. To funny 🤣😁🤣. Come with me and you'll see a world of OSHA violations as diesel creek would say 😂😂. Nice size equipment shed. As always good luck and God bless and stay safe out there.

Neighbors helping neighbors. Good way to build community.
Totally agree with you. It don't matter if you are black or white. That's the way it should be.
"If there's anything I can say to help, just let me know." gold, love it

Nice job. Good to see Howard again. Getting the trusses up in place looked like a challenge. Will be a nice shed when he gets it complete.
Thanks for bringing us along.
Neighbors helping neighbors. That is one of the things that makes American great
It’s awesome to see Howard back he brightens up the videos that’s for sure
When you are pulling the sheets of steel up onto the roof, clamp a pair of vise grips to the end. That gives you a good grip and is safer.
At 12:28, I knew that was you! My man, Mr. "If there's anything I can say to help". You made my day again, thank you brother!
I’m always ready with a helpful word!
The shed project looks good. Definitely like to see it finished. I be praying for Howard.
The right tool for the job.. makes work easier and fast. VERY obvious that this isn't the first building you've put up... tractor bucket to stand up the posts..
Good looking building!
Howard is nimble with that tractor for sure. Thanks for watching!
Greetings and blessings to Howard...always great to see him!
Great neighborly help. You all have some really red clay/dirt there.
The perfect neighborhood helping neighborhood. Looking forward to the next videos. Keep it up.
It was so nice to see Mr. Howard again. 😊 "Hiya Mr. Richard", and "Howdy Mr. Larry!" 🙋🏽♀️

Thanks, Chris!
Good job. It's always a proud moment seeing real men at work.
Excellent work 👍👍👍 . Thank you for sharing. Take care of yourselves 🇨🇦
High class shed with all new parts!
I am going to assume that this was a gratis job for someone at church... Bless all yalls'
Not a gratis job. The farmer, Mark Harris (see pinned comment) paid all of us fairly.
I love seeing all those ‘Young’ men (My age) out there helping you. I wish I could have been there.
What a nice-looking shelter. You got some good-looking, hard-working men putting it up!
Nice to see Howard again. Especially since he's runnin' the machine.
Always good to see Howard showing everyone how it’s done

Another great build. From the opening shot of the trusty ol Craftsman toolbox to the great music. Thanks for sharing with us.

Most manufacturers recommend screws in the flat and that’s how I’ve been doing it for 40yrs…..

Very cool> Glad you didn't slice your flinger on that sheathing. It would be a long time healing. Stay safe.
Sure makes putting on a roof so much easier with those trusses and beams!!!!
Looks good. But here in the PNW. Wood in dirt lasts about 6-8 years no matter if it's burnt, treated, or wrapped with tar paper.
Great job, and nice to meet your team.
good video and job i may get shed like that. i used to be able work walk beams when i was young. really nice job. take care, be safe and well.
