- Ryan gets a ride-along in a brand new 2022 RZR Pro R 4 Ultimate.
First, we drag raced the Pro R vs a Pro XP (Pro xp was stock with a transmission gear reduction and 34” tires). The R took it my about 1 car length each time.
Next we headed over to the iconic/infamous “Chute” - a vertical climb at the end of “Double Sammy”, a 7 rated trail. Sterling from Revolution Offroad explains a bit about the different drive and suspension modes.
Next - 68mph through whoops with 4 adults. Not bad!
We wrap it up with opinions and overall impressions of power, handling, suspension, gearing.
We are excited to see how the 2022 Rzr Turbo R stacks up, and eager to see what Canam has in store. If the Speed UTV ever comes out, it should be a great competitor!

This is just tremendously impressive !! An out of the box machine !
Hope we get to see more crawling content with it. The length and trailing arms have gotta be a hindrance, but wonder how much
Hopefully we get some seat time soon!
We will be doing plenty of crawling with it.
Can't wait for myn to come into the dealer. Looks like good fun and sand hollow is the place I'm taking it first forsure. Great content as always guys.
Thanks 👊🏼
Been waiting for you guys to get your hands on this bad boy!
It’s very impressive in a lot of ways!
Haha this is crazy. I used to deal with Sterling many years ago in the diesel industry. Love yalls videos by the way
Thanks!
Sterling is a good dude!
Love watching your adventures!
Thanks for the support!
I'd be curious to know how the drag race compares on a surface with better traction. I think the sand erased a lot of the power advantage of the R car.
Both cars were aired down for sand traction, but you’re right.. could have potentially been more impressive on pavement
Really!? Aren’t these supposed to be off road vehicles? Why race them on pavement? That would be like wiping before you poop!
Yea the pro R is also heavier car too. The extra beef comes at a cost but arguably worth it in most cases.
Got my Turbo S4 sold and they tell me my new pro r ultimate Turbo 4 will be in in about 4 weeks can't wait
Congrats! Get what you wanted out of the S4?
@@OffCamberInd oh yeah north of 41
@@Kingranch1959 that’s excellent
Pro R Turbo?
@@Rt-ig4bk it’s called a Turbo R - it’s basically a Pro XP with the new suspension design from the Pro R
So are you guys making cages now for this model? I'm waiting for mine to come in.
Not for the 4 seater yet!
Good to see Polaris finally caught up on suspension after many many years and many many models...sadly you have to pay nearly $50k for a 4 seater with suspension equivalent to a Krx ES model🤣🤣🚫
Love the KRX, but you truly can’t compare the two. It’s like a Jeep vs a trophy truck - different leagues and purposes, in my opinion
-Royce
I love my Turbo S
So is the suspension more like the Canam SMART SHOCK system, so the shocks adjust the compression as well as the rebound?
Yes, compression and rebound are both electronic on these!
What are you initial Pro XP comparison thoughts in the whoops? Seems like the new tracking tow-link really does help? Nice work guys.
The combo of the extra travel, probably the length, the toe link, and the new Dynamix on the R all played a part we think in the overall ride and handling
The width also helps. The Pro XP rides good, the Pro R rides great. The rear end stays planted and doesn’t bounce side to side like the Pro XP can do sometimes at high speed through the whoops.
Looks like a fun ride. Although the price is pretty unreasonable.
Lots of fun. And yes, 42k is steep!
What I want to know is how did you get a non launch edition before the launch editions are fully out?
Revolution was just a day 1 order.. not sure how it worked out this way, but I’d be pissed if i paid extra for the ugly colors and people got their nice colors the same day 😂
How did you get this so fast? I ordered the same one right as they became available to order and they are saying it won’t be available til March-May.
Beats me 🤷🏻♂️
Lucky y’all got a pro r
Roaming ronin over on FB…checking in haha
Haha thanks dude 🤘🏼 glad to have you in the squad
Would like to see a video comparing the length to a pro xp 4 and turbo s 4
We will see if we can round up the pro xp4 again, but it’s 8 inches longer
@@OffCamberInd sweet! I’m just stuck between the turbo s 4 or rzr turbo r 4. I don’t want a long ass bike for the riding I do which is same riding you guys do.
Do you know if the factory tires on the Pro are DOT approved?
Not sure, sorry
Question, why are they releasing air on the tire ?
Lower air pressure is better for Sand and rock crawling
That car looks so beefy 💪🏼
Grade A (mostly American) beef 🥩 lol
Looks amazing suspensions looks sick cant wait to ride but that rock mode was not impressive at all.
Ya, first impressions on rock mode wasn’t cool. We want to see it again when it’s dry
How dose suspension compare to krk with es
KRX es rides really well, but this Pro R has wayy more travel. The length helps smooth things out too
Is that a 14’ trailer?
Ya. 7x14
@@OffCamberInd good I was hoping it would fit in my 14’
Being in rock mode and having the pedal half way engaged doesn't mean the car takes off at half throttle. It means the throttle starts when it's half way pressed.... That shouldn't make you punch it like dude did. It would actually do the complete opposite.... dude just isn't a great crawler.
he just hasnt learned the car yet. it had 9 miles on it before attempting obstacles most people wouldnt look twice at.
The thing is too big
It’s Yoooge
As easily these things can roll why not wear a helmet.. safety first..
We usually (if you watch our other videos) aren’t doing much high speed, it’s more crawling around on difficult trails, so we aren’t in the habit of helmets, but it’s s good suggestion for sure
Actually so law in Cali at least is if the machine is over a 1000c no helmets. This is going to be a huge issue in Glamis watch, I pre ordered my pro r and can't wait. So we all know sand rail dudes never wear helmets since they have "car motors" and most can be street legal since alot might be registered as a Volkswagen. Now with the new pro r not being rated as CCs anymore and is now in the "sandrail category" , no helmets needed right? I will be keeping mine on currently rocking my turbo s, but watch when these pro r start hitting Glamis, imperial County sheriff gonna flip there shit when they see peeps with no helmets on pro r's lol which will be legal know according to the law.
