I got the same turbo R 4 as in this video and it's amazing. The family loves it and it has more than enough power for me. Kinda cool to see that there really wasn't too much of a difference in take off vs the pro R. But I didn't buy it for drag racing. I got it to have a comfortable ride that goes pretty much anywhere. The upgraded a arms and wheel bearings was actually the biggest selling point for me.
Great Comparison! Polaris Bumped the MSRP another $2000 though… getting out of hand. This is turning into the boat market, now where only the rich can play.
You can still get XP 1k or standard pro XP for a decent price. Everyone puts 10k of clip-on garbage on these cars anyways LOL.
@@just_one_opinion lol yeah they do! Man I paid $15,400 for my XP 1000 in 2016 Brand New 🙃. Everything got the 2k increase. Even the Xp and pro 👎🏻
@RaztechPowersports 100% totally agree and it's a proven fact ta boot. My 1st competition ski boat was a 1994 MasterCraft ProStar 190 that I bought brand new for just over $30K, and that included a brand new trailer too!! Today that boat, a 2023 (ProStar) built by MasterCraft is over $120K for a bare bones stripped down base model, NOT including a trailer. Add a trailer and literally just a handful of options and you're well over $150,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Turbo should be better at altitude I would imagine? My pro XP runs pretty hot even here in Michigan so R may be better in the desert?
Great video! Totally agree about the Turbo R for 4 seat and Pro R for two seat. Many people complained about the length of the X3 4 seat and the Pro R is longer.
😂 seriously tho!
Wow.... $36k that's way way too much. #savesportquads
I like the wheelbase on the Turbo R 4 seat better. Thanks for the comparison of these too. I agree the Pro R is definitely getting all the attention.
Great video and comparison.
What do you guys think about engine longevity between these two? I've heard that when you get to around 5,000 miles in these turbo engines, you need to start looking into engine re-valve, and in some cases bigger maintenance stuff. I assume the natural aspirated engine in the Pro R would last longer?
Curious about this also.
Anyone know the answer or how true that is ? 🤷🏻♂️ thanks 🙏🏼
@@cii5korea217my friends xp turbo has 10k on it and runs just fine another friend has a pro xp with just over 5k and it runs like it did new in 2020
Awesome footage. Can't believe how expensive these things are though
When I was shopping for my SxS I really wanted the Pro R but decided on the Turbo R Ultimate because of wheelbase. While most of my riding is desert, I also patron the occasional technical/tighter trails and felt the Turbo R would be a better “jack of all traits” SxS
I still can’t get over this front end. I’ll be keeping my turbo S.
Great thing about the Pro R, no helmets required!
Does it still come with the spontaneous combustion feature or did paolaris phase that out?
That was a trade secret that CanAm tried to get. instead, CanAm settled for tinfoil frames and cheap instrument clusters.
12 lbs vs 10.5 lbs per HP is actually a fairly big difference... especially at the overall weights of these machines. thats like already having a 200lb rider in the passenger seat of the Pro R
My X3 2 seater is only 7.5lbs per hp stock which is why it walks away from both of these buses…lol. To each his own but I couldn’t afford either of them anyway and still ended up with a faster OEM rig…weird…lol
@@snowrulesnate Faster definitely doesn't always equal better. I love both machines, but the beef straight from the factory and live valve fox setup is insane!
That is using HP numbers at sea level. Where most people are riding, the pro r is going to be down HP while the turbo isn't until above 8k ft elevation.
Hey where are you guys riding at? This looks awesome!
Hi Do you need some great lighting for your car to help you better driving, off-road. We're the pro auto lighting manufacturer for nearly 20 year and we're looking for sponsorship!
🤝🤝🤝🤙🤙
So for the money I'm looking to buy a 4 seater. Which one is to buy? Turbo r or pro r? Honest opinions. And what's the price difference otd usually on these
43,500 out the door for a turbo R 4 ultimate
48,500 out the door for a pro R4 ultimate
Both in Texas at same dealer
The turbo r 4 is a lot shorter so I went with it to fit in my 13’ garage on my toy hauler
@@turbor4ultimate192 haha oh man so my 36500 OTD on this 22' is a smoking deal. i got offered that today and doing my research. these rebates are sweet
Two seat pro r for me
You should say in your video title that you are testing 4 seaters...
I wish someone would talk about engine noise on cab. My pro are is extremely loud. To the point of being uncomfortable. Why hasn't polaris addressed this.
I have RS1...have tryed x3 and turbo r...i can rip when this two can just watch...Nice, but rather have RS1 where i live. Dunes, that is other stuff...need turbo
Great video!! I love this comparison. Got the specs wrong on the pro R but I already knew it wasn’t 103.5 lol.
The manual says those are plates on the frame are tow hooks.
It's sad that Polaris stopped making the RS1 and focused on making these "Mini Vans" for guys that aren't allowed to get a toy unless it includes the whole family. Most of the time I see these things running around with three empty seats. Just pointing out the truth.
Real talk
Unfortunately men are soft nowadays, hell they already call their wife the boss and hand over the paycheck and then have to ask her if they have enough to buy a toy 🤦♂️
Agreed
Its what sells.
I love my RS1
You have the best job ever!!
How did the low gear compare between the two? I was wondering if both felt lower then previous year RZR’s (Pro XP & Turbo S).
Because of the instant clutch engagement on the Pro R, It worked better in low gear. But actual gearing didn't feel lower than previous years Turbo S or Pro XP.
I had a Pro xp and now have a Pro R. Low gear is way lower in the Pro R. I always trail rode in low on the pro xp. IMO Pro R low is too low to trail ride.
Great vid!
Thy are tie down points / hooks per Polaris how to tie down your Pro R video
What whip antennas are these? I saw 2 spots in the back for one but tough finding one that just drops right in there
Try looking at XK Glow, they have some, i bought a pro xp with them installed on the original mounts
Still need shock therapy shock tune-up and they still make those whit a 300$ snowmobile type belt drive..
I believe the turbo R will not have a very long production run. In fact I would be surprised if it makes in the 2023 line up. 8/2/2023 Update: I see it did survive infact the line up appears to have expanded with sport, premium, ultimate and 4 seater for 2023.
Just curious why ?
@@javiertafoya6509 I don't believe there is a market for a lower horsepower 74" wide car.
It is going to have a very long lifecycle. The Turbo S was very popular, and all Polaris did was move the Turbo S to the new Pro XP platform. This turbo can be tuned to get all most as much HP as the Pro R stock. Polaris would not introduce the Turbo R just to kill it one year later. It has a strong market, and time will prove this out.
Ever heard of the xp1000… been around since 2015
@@dennislilley3190 yes I have one. But what does that have to do with the Turbo R?
Does the Turbo R have a fully welded cage like the Pro R?
It does not.
@@krisblair9799 dammit
What difference would that make? And what do you mean by fully welded? Unremovable roof?
@@turkialjadani168 fully welded means that its welded and not bolted together obviously.
My Pro R is more like 76 1/2 inches wide, I don't know where they came up with 74
How wide is the Pro R if you were to put it at full droop and ratchet tie the lower control arms together? I’m trying to see if I can fit it in my 72 wide toy hauler.
@@TheBrett1096 wont fit
Thanks for sharing
I hope they change the front end of the car soon. it looks so ugly, I’ll wait til then to get one
Why not just buy the SXS with the looks that you like… Polaris is not the only one that makes SXS…
Agreed. I’ll keep my turbo s
This is sweet!
Where was this video filmed at
Dumont Dunes in California
So who will be the first to throw a turbo on the proR???
It’s already been done. Look up LaRue Performance @ RUclips
@@alb5tana dang it!
These things cost way way to much for what they are lol. Like at most $25k...not $40k
They are not both 74in wide
Nice comparison
Thirty grand sounded steep since in 2017 I paid 14 grand for my rzr. $36000 is even more rediculous. S0rry but these models are overpriced but just like overpriced gas, people buy them, just not me.
The new pro r4 are $46,000
Could've done without all the garbage music
Polaris has stepped their game up. But, could they have made them any uglier?
I agree
As compared to what?
@@rodneysessions7463 literally any other sxs
@@rodneysessions7463 first and foremost the Turbo S was a much better look and pretty much everything else on the market.
Man this music is aweful. Also very misleading title. Otherwise a decent video!
Sounds like you have the wrong women 🤔 an raising your kids wrong. Reasoning to why the seats are empty bc My kids an wife love doing it which is why I got a 4 seater
These legacy publications are hot garbage
Totally useless video. “We don’t know“ for half the video. The other half is read off a spec sheet that we can read.
You need to turn that crappy music off so we can hear the machines duh
