The general consensus from people who actually SxS is that the Pro R's suspension/frame/visibility (basically all the handling bits) are flat out better, in fact, the only advantage the Mav R has is the transmission and it's slightly lighter. If Polaris put a DCT in the Pro R, it would be game over for the Mav R because it really is a one-trick-pony. Fun trick for sure though.

Was just in Gordon’s well over new years with the x3 RR I have and I love it.
Great vid. Ive never seen the Mav R but after looking at video compared to Pro R, I'd prefer the low and wider Mav. I got a ride in Pro R in Glamis last week and immediately felt so high in it and even asked does it feel like it wants to tip. Driver admitted at times yes and I also admit damn thing was very loud. Might have to hold off a year to see what Polaris releases next as Im guessing DCT and wide like Mav and Speed.
Great Video Guys! Pro R needs a Turbo and DCT while the Mav R needs a bigger engine. F a 1000 CC heavy sand car but I still Love the Maverick overall, even with the undersized engine.
It’s because you’re supposed to rock crawl in manual mode obviously a lot of people didn’t get told how to operate the transmission while rock crawling🤷🏽
I haven’t had that problem if it’s in manual mode in low with no issues If in automatic rock crawling is no good. Mav r car takes more figuring out on what modes to use and not use

Did “Iraq” on “the fallen” trail with it and definitely didn’t take the ideal line. Will release a video of it soon. I think with a gear reduction, this thing is gonna be a rock crawling beast from what I experienced after the last week and a half down in SH. Tons of potential.

Well said! Sxs world has evolved crazy over the last 8 years for sure to being so versatile and competitive to big price tag equipment in rocks sand trails all over
When Polaris gets their head out of their ass and developes a DCT transmission (which I imagine they're developing it now and will release it next year or following year at the latest) and couple with a good solid 60 ml turbo this would be the fastest torkiest side-by-side on the market easily.. another benefit of being a turbo, you can ride at higher elevations like St Anthony's without such a loss of power... I mean s***, look at LaRue's racing and the power he can get from that 2 l is insane, 750 horsepower at the ground and that's with a 40% reduction due to belt drive!! Imagine that same engine output in a direct drive transmission yeah, game changer for a couple years with a competition to pick up.. But there's the Segway supervillain four-cylinder( hybrid or not) coming out with pretty substantial specs.....$235 horsepower and nearly twice a torque of the poor R... Curious how it will respond to tunes and aftermarket support, possibly a serious contender in this market.. ESPECIALLY AT THE ENTRY PRICE OF 27.5 K! LOTS OF MONEY LEFT OVER FOR UPGRADES!
The Mav R motor is impressive, under 1000 cc and is the fastest car out there. One issue with the 4 cylinders is that it negates competition in many race classes. Technically Polaris is still putting up the Turbo R as the competition for the Mav R. The Pro R is currently in its own class, and the Mav R smacks both the Pro R and Turbo R. If Polaris truly wants to compete, they need to prove it in a 1000 cc
The Pro R motor is joke. 2000cc boat anchor that’s in a class by itself that doesn’t make any more power than a tuned x3. You guys are down at sea level so it barely gets by, but you take the Pro R up in altitude, and it quickly diminishes in power significantly .. i just think it’s a huge swing and a miss for Polaris.
