I've had the pleasure of meeting Tim Omundson (King Richard) and let me be the first to say that he is absolutely HILARIOUS in real life too! Also a stand up guy!
The physical comedy in this is fantastic. Obviously the singing is sublime, but Richards movements as well as the faces and moves of the extras just brings it to another level
Nothing like getting drunk with your worst enemy, planning the murder of your older brother with him and getting exiled together to forge a lasting friendship
Cave Johnson "Erection is a physiological phenomenon in which the penis becomes firmer, engorged and enlarged. Penile erection is the result of a complex interaction of psychological, neural, vascular and endocrine factors, and is often associated with sexual arousal or sexual attraction."
I worked on this show as an extra , it was all filmed in England mostly the south west . This song was filmed at Berkeley Castle in Gloucestershire as was a lot of it .We were all just singing and dancing to playback and couldnt make head nor tail of the story or the song as it was filmed in segments.I think we filmed it around October it wasnt very long ago ,we were filming Wolf Hall just a couple of weeks before in the same location my scenes were mostly with Tim Omundson who Id never herd of before. It was all good fun but hard work my feet were killing me after as my boots were too small.
Congrats! That sounds awesome. I would love to be in a show like this, even as an extra (the costumes sound pretty awesome, besides the too-small boots) :)
Considering the Great hall we see in 1st season is definitely of Caerphilly Castle in Wales, I don't believe you at all. This song was filmed in Caerphilly castle. Absolutely sure of it. Anybody who doesn't believe me, can go on google maps and check it for themselves.
The joust had to be the funniest thing I've seen in years. I didn't expect much from this mini series but a few giggles. It looked to be a mix of Princess Bride and Monty Python all done in musical form and it pretty much is BUT that one scene alone is PRICELESS
Seeing him like this is truly surreal, since I remember him as Eli, the peace lover from Xena: Warrior Princess who wanted to teach people to not hurt each other and love their enemies. Now he's talking genocidal war . . . wow. Just wow.
This is by far the best song and thing I have seen from Galavant so far. King Richard is so awesome and hilarious all the things a great musical villian should have and as usual the villian song is the best one!
King Richard is probably the best part of the show! Hes just so funny! PLEASE come back for a season 2! I cant wait to see what happens to Richard and Galavant!
I LOVE this actor who plays King Richard! He always look like he has so much fun in this scene! Clearly the best thing in "Galavant"! Hope there will be a second season so I'll know what happens to King Richard.
It’s almost time for me to rewatch this amazing masterpiece….it has become tradition since the first time aired for me to watch every holiday time from Thanksgiving to Christmas 🥰
I love both Galavant and King Richard. Suffice it to say that both story is good for each character. Anyone who doesn’t realize that they are both each, is not the reach of reality.
+Spencer Cook Me suspecteth the song was cut for time yet another reaqson I want a DVD release for this series along with the soundtrack to come it in Australia
Picture this then try not to think of it while watching psych: Lassiter is interrogating a guy trying to get him to admit having wanted to kill them. The guy replies, ok, here's how it is: "I want to shoot him with a crossbow, I want to stab him in the eye... etc. then when he gets to "then she'll be mine" he starts dancing with Juliet.
At 1:06, Gareth walks up to him to join hands with Richard, then seconds later, after a cut, Gareth and Richard are shown not dancing on the opposite half of the room, and Gareth yells at everyone to join in...If you were to pull out there would be two of each of them, one busy and dancing/singing and the other yelling or motionless. If you're not looking for it it's hard to tell but it's so big and obvious and creepy. Amazing what you can get away with in film. I secretly hope this means there are more verses and this is just a pared-down edit.
Actually I think they MAY have cut out a verse In the song, I know for the intro video they cut out the mini fight scene with the guards when Galavant was on his way to stop the wedding, which included verses.
wow4800 They definitely did for the intro because he's beating them down in the stairwell, and there's little refrain-y sounding bits where they're excited to see the famous Galavant and he pushes them down and just orders the last dude to get out of his way =) I messaged one of the people involved with production on Reddit (who has had a hand, literally, in nearly every scene) and while it's a generous stretch to connect the two shots, she said it was deliberate and nothing's missing. It's just that choppy, but the final thing goes along with the staging and the marks as she witnessed it.
This is how I describe King Richard: Somehow likable without having a single redeeming quality.
And he only got BETTER from there, thanks to character development. :)
Until season two. (Hell, maybe even the end of season one? Depending on what one might consider "redeemable".)
He gets better
His character is great
I mean, his redeeming quality is being an underdog, even if he was the villain.
Honestly who would have thought that this man would end up being the best character of the series?
Literally everyone
Literally one of the greatest redemption arcs of all fantasy fiction tbh
In the end, he got a dragon! Yay Tad Cooper.
I could be wrong, but King Richard just may be the greatest character ever on TV. Ever.
your not wrong
I prefer a keg of beer
haha. good one
Two words.
Tyrion Lannister
Tad Cooper man, Tad Cooper
How is King Richard so damn LIKEABLE?! Even with a beautifully sung line like, "We could start a genocidal war!" I still really like the character.
Praise the Sun!
Omundson magic...
Corsair Joshua draco in leather pants
Also he's an evil expy of Elan.
Lassiter magic
The same way Negan can kill Glenn, who i loved, and yet I still like Negan more than Rick! 🤣
I've had the pleasure of meeting Tim Omundson (King Richard) and let me be the first to say that he is absolutely HILARIOUS in real life too! Also a stand up guy!
Allison Kitaguchi :) he's so lovely
I think he’s the best actor in this, but I do think they have an outstanding cast.
The physical comedy in this is fantastic. Obviously the singing is sublime, but Richards movements as well as the faces and moves of the extras just brings it to another level
The cook dancing in the background for me is the funniest part of the whole thing
1:21 CHEF'S DANCING THO.... gets me every time
"Galavant is complete perfection, Gal would never lose his... Temper!"
I swear I died xD
Kristal OMG I JUST GOT THAT JOKE BECAUSE OF U OMG I DIED!
So what's wrong with, "Gal would never lose his sweet affection."? :)
(yes, I know the other option)
If I am correct, 'temper' is a term used to measure the hardness of steel/metal. So, he's still kind of saying it.
@@SukoYote dude, mind blown.
Yes. We all know it wasn't his temper. Way to keep it clean.
A king, his bodyguard, and his chef. This is the most epic trio ever! I absolutely love them!
Richard season one: I want to murder galavant
Richard season two: I would literally die for galavant
now that's what you call character development!
Nothing like getting drunk with your worst enemy, planning the murder of your older brother with him and getting exiled together to forge a lasting friendship
@@augustus4832 don't forget bonding over being manipulated by a hypersexual gold digging psychopath!
Tim Omundson is so funny in this role and he has a great voice!
He's one of my favorite actors. Watch him in Psych!
I loled way too hard at "Gal would never lose his... temper" :D
I didn't get that joke T.T
+Amane Misa "Galavant is just complete perfection. Gal would never lose his..." Erection rhymes with perfection, but he said temper. :D
+OnceUponATimeFan100 Ooohh 😁 thanks :D
erection?
Cave Johnson "Erection is a physiological phenomenon in which the penis becomes firmer, engorged and enlarged. Penile erection is the result of a complex interaction of psychological, neural, vascular and endocrine factors, and is often associated with sexual arousal or sexual attraction."
I love Gareth in this song. “Everybody sing!”
As a fan of Psych since 2006, this show really brought out Timothy Omundsons acting range
I'm sorry, but the actor that plays the King literally makes this show. He's hilarious!
+1980wildfire watch him here then go watch him in Supernatural...
+1980wildfire Also watch him in Psych
+1980wildfire Timothy Omundson plays King Richard. He also played Lassie in Psych.

Good ol' Lassy
I love Gareth so much. such a supportive friend

Which one are you? It sounds like it would've been a lot of fun :)
Congrats! That sounds awesome. I would love to be in a show like this, even as an extra (the costumes sound pretty awesome, besides the too-small boots) :)
My god, what a great experience it must had been. wasn't it?
Considering the Great hall we see in 1st season is definitely of Caerphilly Castle in Wales, I don't believe you at all. This song was filmed in Caerphilly castle. Absolutely sure of it. Anybody who doesn't believe me, can go on google maps and check it for themselves.
Timothy Omundson is the absolute best part of the show...he's adorable as King Richard. How about a spin-off - King Richard!
I must warn you, he has a dragon...
Tad Cooper the dragon
Agreed
Now THIS is an awesome villain song XD Ridiculously affable evilness.
I love his "round tones"....woooon't that be di--vOOOOOOOOOiinnee.....
I agree
I was surprised to find out he was an American - his accent is spot on!
1:52 Gareth and that reluctant smile
1:22 the chef dancing is my favorite part of the song XD
This show was simply too ahead of it's time. Absolutely perfect!
I swear, we need more shows like this. I don’t care if the show is good, the songs just need to be catchy
It took me an embarrassingly long time to understand the 'Galavant is complete perfection, Gal would never loose his... TEMPER'-joke...
I still don't get it :b
I'm pretty sure, the others thought he was gonna say... ahem... erection. Can you say that on RUclips?
Olivia Nürnberg Martinussen that makes sence.. i was wondering the same thing for quite a while now lol
Thank you very much, I only understood now
The joust had to be the funniest thing I've seen in years. I didn't expect much from this mini series but a few giggles. It looked to be a mix of Princess Bride and Monty Python all done in musical form and it pretty much is BUT that one scene alone is PRICELESS
I thought it was a lot like robin hood: men in tights as well.
I thought it was like Robin Hood: Men In Tights and A Knight's Tale combined
It makes me think of Once Upon a Mattress.
Timothy Omundson has described it as such
It definitely gives Python and Mel Brooks had a love child vibes.
LOLOL "and with no Galavant distracting your bride, we could start a genocidal war!" and everyone like, "yeahhh wait what"
Seeing him like this is truly surreal, since I remember him as Eli, the peace lover from Xena: Warrior Princess who wanted to teach people to not hurt each other and love their enemies. Now he's talking genocidal war . . . wow. Just wow.
Wait... holy fuck he WAS in Xena! I haven't seen that in YEARS
Go, Omundson! This man never ceases to amaze me....
I love this story, 'galavant is just pure perfection, galavant would never lose his ..............temper." hahahaha
Watching for Lassi, staying for the general awesomeness of GALAVANT!
"EVERYBODY SING!"
XD I died.
How can you not love such a beautiful man in such a wonderfully written character?
1:25 “We could start a genocidal war”
“Wait, What?!”
I cackled XD
This is by far the best song and thing I have seen from Galavant so far. King Richard is so awesome and hilarious all the things a great musical villian should have and as usual the villian song is the best one!
He reminds me of King George singing "You'll Be Back" in Hamilton the musical.
Yes me too! I had wondered if anyone else caught that
He walked so George could run
Omg how Richard has changed
Right?! It's so weird going to ep1s1 and comparing him with the end of season 2.
at least he has a dragon
1:07 Gareths face here is the best
I love the hindsight of Gareth singing about someone "distracting" Madelena.
1:21 holy shit the chef just JAMMING in the background kills me every time
I miss this show every day.
It's a good day to die, though not as good as other days.
King Richard is probably the best part of the show! Hes just so funny! PLEASE come back for a season 2! I cant wait to see what happens to Richard and Galavant!
Such a funny show. So great to see a new TV series that combines humor and singing. Looking forward to the next episodes.
Cain's fun years before the Winchesters came. Whoever gets this reference you win.
1:21 - Look at Chef dancing. Amazing! Haha.
"No more 'Galavant' is complete perfection. Gal would never lose his...' ...temper."
ROFL. How did I miss this the first go-round!?!
Every time i see a song form Galavant I smile, I haven't even watched the show.
This has such No One Remembers Achmed vibes
awww the character development!
this show is awesome
I LOVE this actor who plays King Richard! He always look like he has so much fun in this scene! Clearly the best thing in "Galavant"! Hope there will be a second season so I'll know what happens to King Richard.
It’s almost time for me to rewatch this amazing masterpiece….it has become tradition since the first time aired for me to watch every holiday time from Thanksgiving to Christmas 🥰
Watched this more than 200 times best villain song in the plantation
Please bring this back
Galavant is quite possibly my favorite thing on television in a long time
This is the funniest thing I've seen in ages, I am absolutely loving it!
Regardless of how great Richard is, this song still slaps
I love both Galavant and King Richard. Suffice it to say that both story is good for each character. Anyone who doesn’t realize that they are both each, is not the reach of reality.
It’s hard to believe that this character wasn’t written for him!
Damn I love this series, need season 3
I loved watching Galavant. It was so much fun. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's weird to see Lassiter a) singing and b)smiling. Gus and Shawn would never let him hear the end of it.
The chef has a cute little dance
it's hard to believe we actually felt sorry for this guy in season two
Best show ever. Fight me
Gal would never loose his.... TEMPER
I love this. Lassie was great, but King Richard is just perfect!
The court's faces when he sang genocidal war! XD
1:23 😂😂 Chef...
Gareth and Richard teleport from 1:09 - 1:10 xD
+Spencer Cook Me suspecteth the song was cut for time yet another reaqson I want a DVD release for this series along with the soundtrack to come it in Australia
This show was so awesome.
I'm watching him and all I see is Lassie!! Brilliant. Absolutely Brilliant!!
AHHHHHHHHHHH TIMOTHY GIVES ME LIFE OK
It's quite hard not to love king Richard.
1:21 lol the chef is dancing
Danielle Arties And his face is so nonchalant I die every time I see it lol
how did he do this without dying of laughter? i me seriously i can't watch it without laughing!!
King Richard might have one of the best redemption arcs of all time.
One of the sillier little numbers of the series and one of my favorites.
He is just Amazing with his expression just killing
I adore him 😁
So sad this got cancelled. A great show
My new jam :) love love love this song and choreography :)
*EVERYBODY SING*
i miss u Galavant
My precious Carlton 'Lassie' Lassiter can do no wrong...even if he starts a genocidal war.
+Tafami Yasssssss!!!!!!!!
Picture this then try not to think of it while watching psych: Lassiter is interrogating a guy trying to get him to admit having wanted to kill them. The guy replies, ok, here's how it is:

This song sounds like what he wants to do to Shawn.
"EVERYBODY SING!" D
It was Sing.
Excelent Music. Bravo! Bravo! #Galavant SEASON 3!
Nope..
Not anymore ;-;
Yeah, I'm definitely watching this.
and Gareth facial expressions are just priceless XD
Ahhh memories
"I respect her vow of chastity" is not acknowledged enough lmao
Love this show love this song
The bard who composed this should get a pay rise
Love it! Will definietely check the show!
Galavant is like musical adaptation of movie princess bride .
1:50, the woman on the far left - What the hell is going on?
I only knew Timothy as the evil character of Cain in supernatural, so it is so surprisingly pleasing to see him play someone so different!
This was when I fell in love with this show
At 1:06, Gareth walks up to him to join hands with Richard, then seconds later, after a cut, Gareth and Richard are shown not dancing on the opposite half of the room, and Gareth yells at everyone to join in...If you were to pull out there would be two of each of them, one busy and dancing/singing and the other yelling or motionless.

Hands down my favorite character, him and Garreth :)
