First one on here 💪🏼 love your videos! Keep these vids coming! Big fan! I own a 2004 wj but I’m thinking of getting a wk and with your videos I’m really inspired to do so!!
Sold my 99 WJ 4.0 (NP 242; swapped axles from 8cyl) IRO 3" Long Arm with 330,000 miles. Really enjoyed that vehicle a Lot and miss its simplicity and capability but was underpowered at highway speeds. Now 7yrs later and looking at another similar: not sure if it'll be an 2004 WJ with 8cyl or diesel, a WK2 or going Toyota 4Runner instead. Decisions. Decisions. Decisions. lol
@ sounds like you had a good one. I’ll be honest. A wk2 is something you grow out of. After having what you had, you might be disappointed with a wk2. In terms of wheeling that is. Don’t get me wrong. I love my wk2 but I’m starting to feel the growing pains.
17:12 youtube gold! 🤣 nice to see you are pushing it but honestly curious how is it going to be long term… I ran 33s and my front end needs an overhaul due the extra weight of the wheels. Best of luck!
@@hecmiglezama799 I’ll have to check the time stamp and see what your talking about. But…. My front end is all knew or upgraded. But my buddy Daniel with 6monkeys has been on them for a while now. I’m pushing 4months. But I mean I have a winch and steel up front too. But I also don’t have stock suspension
@@hecmiglezama799 oh hahaha yea that was funny. He didn’t realize I’ve had these 35’s on tho. Just been rubbing. That’s weird that 33’s caused you issues. I was running 33’s for a long time. 35’s do better with a tranny tune
Hello Jon! Thanks for more great content. A question... does your front CV make contact with the lower control (A) arm under full droop? I have installed the 6 Monkeys lift. and mine does... Dan says it isn't a concern (in Dan, we trust!) but it has my shop guy worried a bit. Thanks!
@@oscarmdog5275 thank you. Full droop? Meaning after you take the wheels off and have it jacked up and let everything droop down? Or like when the wheel is off the ground?
@@GrandExploration Thanks for the response! When the wheel is off the ground, tire mounted, zero load on the suspension. Like on a frame hoist. Or a cross ditch that pops a wheel in the air. You have become an extremely valuable resource for info on the WK2 platform!
Hell yeah man. Shes come so far. I gotta catch up. Also try and see if you still kiss the inside of your wheelwell with/without the spacers. You're close enough you might be able to just change em out to different ones.
I think portals is 100% the way to go with the WK2 platform… now that these things are getting cheaper and people are starting to play with them there might be some interest for someone to develop a kit 🤞🏼 I’ve done some research and found a couple places that would do it but it’s about 12k but if you think about it if you scoop one of these around 15k in decent condition and slap portals to that tune you are in a waaaay better ride than a wrangler for a daily driver! Also save all the issues that our guy is having! But it’s part of the fun!
@@hecmiglezama799 yea portals aint getting cheaper maybe the wk2 chassi, but id love to see the 5.7 or 6.4 with some portals on 37s all cut up... here for it.
My daily is a 2004 Wj, 4.0 select track, she's mint , inside and out, it has a 3 inch budget boost in the front, 2 inch in the rear, i put a Spartan locker in the rear, 8k pound Smittybuilt winch on a Rough Country mount, and a roof rack, i take it on mountain roads and trails quite a bit, but right now im running 245/75/16 , im just about to try 265/70/16, i don't want them to rub and im not ready to go any bigger right now because I don't want to cut up my mint Wj
How many miles do you have on it I got 130k on my v6 with 32s but im just considering either getting a different rig and going all out or keeping this and using it as a off-road rig also does yours also hop from gear 7 to 8 back n forth its insanely annoying
The Jeep now has 140k but my engine has 30k. Had to get a new one little while back. No, I haven’t had and gear issues. There are some tranny tunes out there
Seems like more work than I want…..I enjoy looooong road trips so I don’t think 35’s would be in my best interest Also, so glad I didn’t go with bwoody parts. I’ve seen so many complaints and problems with their stuff.
@@broncobill392 that’s fair. I think most of the complaints from bwoody is due to improper installation. It is easy to do it wrong. But my issue of them rubbing wasn’t because of bwoody it was because the link is positioned so close that when I installed the HD springs it put the camber arm right in its path. Plus I think my camber arm was just ever so slightly bent.
Yea there’s not re gear option. But a transmission tune is nice for this application. But she has run great even for my buddy who has run them for 2years

I'm on Vacation in el Salvador this week and was happy to catch this video. Love the channel and always look forward to new uploads

They said it couldn't be done! Impressive!

I’m able to run 33” with very little work on my 2019 WK2 Limited. Just struts and shocks no pinch weld. Although I love the look of 35” great job!!
Thank you. You got lucky. I needed the pinch weld with my old 33’s

So awesome that they let you work on it in their shop! Great job, such satisfaction not getting rub now .
Yea these guys a really cool people. Been rocking with them for a little while now
Nice! I don't have a WK, but I love all Jeeps, (except the latest version of the Renegade & Compass).
Right there with ya
Looks great. I always wanted 33's when I had my WK2.
Thanks. 🙏 33’s wouldn’t need any of this work. When I had 33’s she was good. Just minor trim

Have you thought about a 1/2-1 inch sub frame drop for slightly more lift up front or rear? 35s look great on the wk
I actually haven’t thought about it. I didn’t really want it too much higher than it is. But that food for thought
