    I really feel that covered slips are the best!! You get lots of shade and your boat is protected from the sun beating down on it all day. The only disadvantage is the bird poop that gets to be really annoying. Take care, buddy. Have a great weekend.😎🇨🇦

    Obviously there are pluses and minuses to both options which is why people choose one over the other. There are very few marinas with covered slips within our 50 mile or so of water on the Chesapeake so we never had that option. We did have a lift slip option that we initially tried to get at another marina, but it wasn't available. I'm not if we would pursue that in the future. On another note, your Friday is Thursday. My Friday is Sunday. Mary and I use that kind of terminology. Here's hoping you burn some fuel soon...

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Месяц назад

      Yes, different marina setups in different geographical areas. North of us, on Georgian Bay, covered slips are extremely rare.
      Hoping to start burning that gas on Boogaboo very soon! Don't want it to get stale 🙂

    I just like the open air of an uncovered slip. Same thing for docking bow in so I can see the water instead of the dock. We have a relatively short summer season and I try to absorb as much outsideness (new word) as I possibly can. You have a nice dock area so I understand the stern in part but many of us have a crappy dock or parking area behind our boats, or worse, are docked butt-to-butt with another boat.

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Месяц назад

      Docking stern-in also lets us keep an eye on the Kitty Kats when we're off the boat.

    We bought the 330DA out of a covered slip on Lake Cumberland, KY and spent a little time there before shipping it north. Although I appreciated the protection from the elements, it was like sitting in a garage to me. I'm not a fan for our limited season here. BTW...spent all week on Mackinac Island and completely missed any hurricane effect. Sunny and calm most of the week with a couple late day sprinkles one day.

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Месяц назад

      I know what you mean by the garage effect. Looking back, I'd say that was similar to our first marina, way back in the day. One main dock that was 4' wide, with finger docks on either side of the main spline. Lots of roof coverage on all sides, but the close quarters made everyone there good friends, as we always were in close proximity to one another. Sadly, many have passed and all except one have gotten out of boating...
