    Is there a possibility to get a side view of how deep the trim is? The curvature of the knife alludes to it. Great stuff!

    That is some incredible work. Can’t appreciate anything till you see it live. I would have to consider power tools for ALL that work. Have you had a horse that’s afraid of the power sander?

    I'm honestly suprised that the horses aren't scared by the loud noises, is it because they're used to it?

    • @TannerHortonMusic
      @TannerHortonMusic 2 года назад +1

      Yes. They’ll start to get used to it after the first few times for the most part. It just depends on the horse. Some can go their whole life of being regularly shod and still be assholes, or be spooky. I have one horse that you can’t even hit the button on a drill like what was in the video around him. He’s fine and acts good but don’t like power tools that close to him. I’ve got another old horse thats gentle as a dog and been regularly shod his whole life and still acts like a turd most times when I’m putting shoes on him just because he wants to.

    Sanding hoof is probably bad idea, because i in workshop sand cars, so paint stick better. According to that logic if you sand hoof outside then mud will stick to it better.

    So I keep seeing shoes with different metal outer sections, is there a purpose to them?

    • @jmk3511
      @jmk3511 Год назад

      The shoes with the single metal outer section are for front hooves, the ones with two metal pieces at say, 10 minutes to 2 if you compare it to a clock, are for hind hooves. The idea is that, by leaving a little overlap of the hoof over the front part of the shoe on the hind legs, the horse is less likely to injure itself when it taps it front legs with the hind ones as the hoof horn is much softer and less damaging than metal.

    When you see the disgrace of horribly neglected horses and mules with overgrown hooves and compare them with a real pro farrier, you know someone who really cares about horses. I don't know how wild horses deal with their hooves, but at least they can run free to "trim them over the land" instead of tied up in a dirty stable.
