Great and very accurate review my friend! I picked up a bottle of this because I was at a local Total Wine and saw an older gentleman come in and grab six…..yes six bottles of this. After witnessing that I added a bottle to what I already had. Can’t say it’s a favorite but when you want a sweet dessert whisky this is it.
We've got the whisky we've got should be said more. I hate it when people say 'oh man it was much better before'! Well shit dude I wasn't drinking whisky back then but I do enjoy it now so can you please let me! I have not tried this bottle before but I have tried the previous designed 14 which I think the recipe is same, well at least the age is. I do enjoy the QR, it's nothing amazing but a solid dram I grab from time to time. Cheers mate 🥃
I’d agree that this bottle leans toward the dessert-y side, I’d even say it’s all the way there. I bought a bottle a couple of years ago and really struggled to get through it; I found the port to be an overly assertive, cloying overcoat. Not a bottle I’ll be revisiting any time soon. On a more positive note, I’m enjoying the channel and have been going back to catch up on old reviews and the podcast with Kevin. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for the positive feedback! It definitely seems I like this one a little more than a lot of my viewers! I am curious if that is because the sweetness doesn't bother me as much being that I drink bourbon pretty regularly. 🤷♂️
Way too sweet, not complex, boring. I won’t be drinking this Glenmorangie again. Overall I don’t drink much Glenmorangie. I prefer better scotch. Cheers.
I disagree that this expression would appeal to a lot of experienced scotch enthusiasts. Glenmorangie, with 3-4 exceptions, isn’t high end complex interesting whisky. Sure maybe Bourbon drinkers would like it but I think a scotch palette is more sophisticated.
That may be true, but I do think there is room for more straightforward whisky even in a well experienced drinker's collection. I probably won't be buying this one often because I have bourbon to fit the profile, but it does fill a flavor profile that I have only found more 'luxury' whiskies like Dalmore seem to fill (sweet and easy), and at a much better price.
Hi whiskey uncorked I'm sorry to say I don't care for glenmourangie whiskey at all, I have tried many and just don't care for there for there core line,I even bought a bottle of the 10year old, and gave it away to a friend, just don't like the whiskey !!!
Agreed! I loved Tale of Tokyo and a couple of nicer expressions but overall I don’t consider Glenmorangie to be excellent scotch - not at all. I have never perceived Glenmorangue to have a fabulous reputation!
I have heard others that feel the same way. I have a couple other bottles that I need to spend some more time with and review. We will see how I feel after I make up my mind on those. At the end of the day, every one should drink what they like! There's no point in drinking whisky we don't connect with. Cheers!

6 bottles!? I guess you have to stock up while you can! Cheers!
This is my favorite Glenmorangie
I didn’t appreciate this one at all at first but it grew on me. For me it’s a 7/10

Amen!
I've always enjoyed this one. I don't get it often enough to notice a difference but it's always good.
It's a great one to just sip and enjoy and not have to think too hard about it. A respectable dram for sure!

Definitely a sweet whisky that could use some additional depth imo. Agree with the review
