Thank you. This video has so many projects I can use. I bought a lot of 1/2 inch pvc and connectors to make for some tall gates for a couple doorways to keep cats out of those rooms, but they were too heavy to manage, so we are going with security doors. Now I can make a flag pole, hat rack, from the ceiling storage rack, bag support, etc.
awe i love that you made something to protect the fishies! PVC is very commonly used in aquarium stores to provide a place for fish to hide (its easy to make and clean, and is safe/nontoxic) Stress can be deadly for fish so making them feel secure is well worth the investment (esp for expensive fish!) We have had a small pond since i was a kid-and have had neighborhood cats try "fishing" from it-but i dont thing they have ever been sucessfull, as we have many places for the fish to hide (plants and whatnot). Really loving this series, its gonna keep me busy for a while!!
Just found this and watching every one and sharing them on my Facebook, my kids' Facebooks and friends' Facebooks! Subscribed and created a playlist for his videos. I love to make stuff, especially for kids, so these are fantastic ideas! I have built things with PVC for decades. THANK YOU!!
+Amy Hebert Thank you very much. If you have any unique PVC projects, I would love to see a picture. You can send it to our facebook page: facebook.com/specificlovefanpage
I may have new stuff in the future but for now I am quite busy babysitting my 4 month old grandson with three more planned for the future - from one daughter but I have two so I'll probably just tune in to your channel for good ideas. Got my hands full and it's just the beginning. LOL
I fly radio control airplanes and use pvc for test stands, work stands or at the field stands. I can really appreciate your videos! Keep it up, there is no way we can ever run out of uses for pvc pipe!
These are awesome! We use PVC as chicken feeders. just drill holes into a 3 or 4 inch PVC that's about a foot or two long. put an end cap on one side, fill with feed and the put the other end cap on. Then the chickens can't scratch the feed out onto the ground. Something I thought to try this spring for my garden is to have a long piece of PVC stuck into the ground or have it over a piece of rod that's stuck into the ground and then put my rotating sprinkler into it. I've been enjoying your videos! the other day I made your PVC tablet holder guys and my kids had a blast making things with the pieces so I cut different lengths of PVC and put a handful of fittings into a container with them and now that's their quiet time play box. they have a blast making things with it. (they're 2 and 4)
Your chickens are up taking cancerous toxins from the PVC that you are consume by eating the eggs and chickens . Your water from your sprinklers contains cancerous substances taken up from the PVC, the UV exposure increasing the amount the PVC decays and the amount of cancerous toxins it released. Your children have a massive increased risk to get cancer by playing and working with the PVC, the working releases cancerous particles in the air and the skin up takes the toxins not to mentions the times your children rub their eyes and mouth up taking cancerous substances released by the PVC.
U have showed many, many great uses for pvc. Its amazing how ur coming up with more all the time. I would like 2 suggest something tho. I often want 2 go back 2 certain ones 2 show my son (or a friend) but don't remember the #of video. It would be so helpful if u could group ur videos according 2 usage (like kitchen hacks, stirage solutions, tools, etc). In this attention -deficit world people will enjoy the video more if it addresses an issue/problem they r dealing with. Ive had friends who said they passed over ur videos for that reason. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for another great set of ideas for using pvc to make things easier! The great thing about these ideas is that we can always adapt them to make them work for our own specific needs. Thanks again!
2019 - coming late to this party - but love some of these ideas! Might try using rubber or foam pipe insulator tubing over the handle of your wood carrier!
I built a halo shelf along one wall of my apartment. My collection quickly outgrew that and I expanded it with another tier and a full shelf. Lightweight, sturdy, easy to work with and inexpensive.
End of 2019, also late to the party but oh my, what a genius series! I am binge-watching now lol. Many thanks and many blessings to you and your family all year 'round. :-)
Hi, Your ideas are always thought-provoking, and one came to my mind that maybe you could work on: A trash day cart. I have recyclables (glass & plastic, paper), and regular house waste. I could use a light-weight cart that would allow everything at once, for one trip to the street, and collapse for storage thru the week. Thank you for considering my need. : )
That cap rack would be awesome for pocketbooks or scarfs. I could see it made smaller for necklaces, bracelets, etc. Not just for the guys. I love your hacks!
Thanks. This is good too, but I am looking for something I can put on the table and do watercolor painting. I have seen it somewhere on youtube but can't find it now. Its more like a stand than an easel.
Great stuff, I watched a few of the vids, did a lot of small pvc stuff, even made a beach shovel for my daughter cos its free lol, it comes in handy and seeing your vids just makes it more fun, I love pvc, just we don't get the cool bends and fittings in South Africa boo hoo
So I was thinking take 1/2 inch PVC pipe, and take a drill (with a bit the size of the fish food) randomly placed holes in the part of the pipe. Next put a end cap on the end so the fish can't swim up it. Then you should use on of the PVC ball valves so whenever you turn the valve, the fish food falls in to the tank.(you would have a container on the top filled with the food. And that's pretty much it.
have you ever thought about installing a sprinkler system.? LOL! hey but you got some good ideas. I like the carry handle. they sell that handle for carrying drywall.
Dang, I keep remembering all of these things I have done or friends and people I have encountered have done with PVC. Here is another. A friend of mine wrapped collectors posters with acid free paper and stored them in PVC pipes. Another buddy that I was in school with had an Architecture Class and he used to store and transport his Architect plans (projects) in PVC.
Great ideas, I enjoy seeing each new video. I'm getting ready to build your flag holder and put it in the front yard. And I most certainly agree with your ultimate life hack. It's the only one you could never go wrong in making and you can take Him with you no matter where you go.
Yes! I used PVC inch and a half for plastic strip for weed cutting cap on one end and ca cap with thread on the other you can attach it to DR mower . If you put a little water in it , it makes the plastic cutting pieces easier to put on the mower.
I'm about to build a bed extender for my truck, not quite as sturdy, but it beats paying $250+. I'm pretty confident I can make it pretty strong, at least strong enough for what I would use it for. haha.
For projects that have a handle or grip made of PVC use a cut to fit piece of foam pipe insulation to add a softer gripping surface...leave as is if stable or glue to pipe to secure it from slipping
I enjoy your ideas and being a mechanic, some required little modifications. My question is, where can I buy some of the larger diameter pipes and test caps? I've tried our retailers but they only carry the basic everyday use sizes. Thanks in advance and I will be sure to share my ideas with you.
For Leaf bag: make it a little wider put bag in middle The rack has legs that extend out for stability. when bag is full raise rack up over bag since the bag will be heavier then the rack.
For the flag. If you could figure out a way to add a light to illuminate the flag at night, that would be great. Love the Idea. Keep up the videos. Ssgt. Wilson USAF
i was thinking like a much smaller vision that could fold up and could fit in ones pocket kinda like your mashmellow pistol but for you quick change clips for airsoft!!!
any tool / platform / structure you're making with pvc pipe and elbows can be assembled even if you've run out of pvc cement, provided you don't require liquid to be retained: if the pipe and elbows fit snugly, put your tool / rack / structure together, and drill holes thru the joined pipe and elbows near the neck (open ends) of those elbows, just large enough to hold short (3/16" or 4mm) sheet metal screws. Then screw the elbows to the pipes. Snug screws will give you pretty secure pipe-elbow joints. Generally, each joint will require only one screw. If any screw is loose, or works loose, replace it with a screw with a somewhat thicker shaft. If more rigidity is needed at any elbow joint, add a 2nd screw just about opposite the 1st screw you put at that joint. Almost any screw used this way can be made snug by turning it, so you'll find glue is unneeded.
I usea 8 inch length of 1 inch wide pvc with a end cap at one end (doesn't have to be cemented but it doesn't hurt) to hold extra hacksaw blades. You can also use 4 inch length 1 inch wide pipe for coping saw blades. You can alter the measurements to accommodate jigsaw blades or sawzall blades or even regulat drill bits.. I also use a 2 foot length of pvc with holes and slots drilled into it to hold screwdrivers and chisels.
I love these pvc vids! Regarding the wild animal feeder-it needs a cover(?) to deflect, prevent water from getting in the feeder opening! Take a piece of 4" x 8" pvc pipe-cut it open lengthwise and using a heat gun, shape it to form a half circle and attach to feeder above the opening. Leave enough room for largest animals to have head clearance! If you make a half circle cut into the upright tube and insert the "rain guard" jto provide support for the guard and using PVC cement to secure it, you will have a nice rain guard without blocking the feeder tube itself!
I stake pvc in the bank around our pond and use it as a rod holder. I use 2 inch but it all depends on the size of your rod. I also use half inch pvc to replace the plastic handles on 5 gallons buckets.
Great ideas!!! I’ve used PVC for several projects including a boot rack for hunting boots, which are heavy and always seem to be in the way... it resembled the hat rack you made in this video. Since it is spring, how about some videos for pvc uses in the garden and yard? Tower gardens, pvc beds for dogs that get them off the ground and keep them cool, maybe something to go with the drink can holder in one of your other videos? How about a pvc and screen cover for a pond or fountain to keep debris out and the cover would still be light enough to remove when not needed??? Maybe add some of the grommets into the screen to make it collapsible?
I have been looking at wire racks to hold spools of wire, they are very expensive even at Harbor Freight. Similar to your ribbon/tape holder, an upright rack with whatever size pvc fits your spools. each horizontal pipe can be different sizes for different spools. I'm gonna make a 3 tier one and I'll send you a pic of the finished pic (if I can figure out how to)
Ground archery quiver: a length of 3 inch PVC pipe, drill an end cap and mount a sharpened bolt though the cap using a nut and a washer. Glue the cap to the tube. The top end of the tube can be flared by heating it and pressing a bottle into the end. Paint it bright colors. The quiver can the be pushed into the ground with the spike and hold your arrows while you practice shooting your (pvc?) bow.
That fish tube is a good idea, but I would have to find a larger pipe as my Koi are already 5 to 6" in diameter. Koi get huge if the pond is sized right for them.
On your yard flag pole, the ones I have used would dig themselves into the ground as wind turned the pole. Get a large washer that drops over the Re-rod and just lays on the ground. Make it large enough that the PVC sits on it and will not bore into the ground
I have the same flag holder with 2 additional pieces added. Stick your rebar into the ground slide a large washer over the rebar. Than slide a piece of pic over the rebar say 18" long, than slide your flag pole over the 18" piece. It swivels nicely when the wind picks up.
It’s really amazing what you can do with PVC pipe I made one for my fire pit for my fire sticks for hotdogs or anything else a fire poker maybe you could do something like that show everyone
Hey, I love your channel. Could you do a video discussing the difference between the different types of pvc? I know there are several out there (gray, red, sched 40, CPVC, etc.), it would be nice to know which ones to get for which diy projects and no one really seems to cover that.
wow dude i never seen so many great ideas i been binge watching your channel im def ganna make a bunch of your ideas they all look so kool thanx for the great ideas dude !!!
+Darlene Nelson Thank you, I buy most of my PVC from Lowes. They seem to have a better selection for what I need. And the test caps are sold with the regular fittings.
I made those exact flag stands about 7 years ago to bring to the NASCAR races. To improve the spin of the PVC pole use a washer that fits around the steel rods on the ground (I used Rebar from Lowe's), that way when the wind blows the pole can spin and the flag won't get tangled up. :-)
in one of my more creative moments I made a mailbox stand using black pvc. Our original pole seemed to attract poor drivers and needed to be replaced too often. I used gravel poured down from the top to keep it stable. It has survived two more hits intact.
A quick way to put in a flagpole or other pole and make it removable for cutting grass etc., put a piece about 6" long in the ground and then your flagpole in it. I've had this for years because my flagpole is in the middle of my lawn. Just get the correct size for your pole.
Number 5 for sheets of plywood or drywall! :) I'm going to do this one for sure!
Very nice ideas, greetings from Brazil
Great Video, thank you!

A Cooper stad
A cooler stand
Could you make a couple of those handles big enough to carry a mattress? Seems like that would be a great idea too. I hate carrying those things.
thank you very much for the great ideas! I'm not very handy and don't have a lot of money but these are great ideas for home projects! thanks again!
+Chester Harrah You're very welcome
Amazing job. Thanks for sharing
Thank you
As always, very creative.
Mr. PVC strikes again! I keep wondering what in the world you will come up with next. Your enthusiasm is so contagious. Looking forward to episode #7.
+CrankyPants LOL, thanks. I hope to have another one in about two weeks.
Nice Video
That cap rack would be awesome for pocketbooks or scarfs. I could see it made smaller for necklaces, bracelets, etc. Not just for the guys. I love your hacks!
+Linda Bradley good ideas
Very nice instructions. Thanks. Do you have a video on making a pvc table easel for artists?
Is this what you are looking for: ruclips.net/video/lLKpRaVgvS0/видео.html

SOOO COOL! You should do do a fish feeder like the deer feeder but smaller.
+Colby Tart I am not sure how that would work, can you explain more?
So I was thinking take 1/2 inch PVC pipe, and take a drill (with a bit the size of the fish food) randomly placed holes in the part of the pipe. These are brilliant! I made a window perch for my parrot many years ago so he could sit and watch the outside birds and squirrels at the feeder.
nicely done

Great carrier helper idea...adjust length as needed!
For Leaf bag: make it a little wider put bag in middle The rack has legs that extend out for stability. when bag is full raise rack up over bag since the bag will be heavier then the rack.

First, thank you for your service.
Second, that is an excellent idea. I am not sure of the design as of yet, but I plan to work on it. Thank you
awesome video as usual!!! i was thinking can you make a pistol version of your PVC sniper rifle? thanks!!
+laszlo pasztor Can you give me a little more detail on your thought?
i was thinking like a much smaller vision that could fold up and could fit in ones pocket kinda like your mashmellow pistol but for you quick change clips for airsoft!!!

What kind of caps are you referring to? I can't quite make out what you are calling them and where would I get them? Great ideas.
Test caps

Great video again. #5 was my favorite use. Keep it up!
I used 1” pvc for my sheers behind my drapes. Lightweight, 120” length, under $5.
I have been looking at wire racks to hold spools of wire, they are very expensive even at Harbor Freight. Similar to your ribbon/tape holder, an upright rack with whatever size pvc fits your spools. each horizontal pipe can be different sizes for different spools. love your ideas.. was wondering if you can make a repair bike stand for mtb.
I will keep it in mind

Your hat rack would also work as a purse organizer for the lady's closet. 😎

It’s really amazing what you can do with PVC pipe I made one for my fire pit for my fire sticks for hotdogs or anything else a fire poker maybe you could do something like that show everyone
The fishing rod holder would work great inside the canopy on my pickup truck to have them with me and out of the way all the time.
I'd watched all your 6 awesome videos and keep it up pal 😁
Thank you
Great idea for leaf picking. Try using two racks like a scoop and you'll p/u more leaves at one time😊

I reuse a lot of the projects to save on cost, plus the wife would not let me keep all of it around the house :)
the hat rack would also work really well for shoes
Will the plywood carrier support a 75 lb. sheet of 3/4 plywood?
I put water sprinklers on galvanize pipe out of the ground and then put thin wall PVC pipe over it to make them pretty.
I made those exact flag stands about 7 years ago to bring to the NASCAR races. To improve the spin of the PVC pole use a washer that fits around the steel rods on the ground (I used Rebar from Lowe's), that way when the wind blows the pole can spin and the flag won't get tangled up. :-)
+JG24rlzsun Thanks
in one of my more creative moments I made a mailbox stand using black pvc. Our original pole seemed to attract poor drivers and needed to be replaced too often. I used gravel poured down from the top to keep it stable. It has survived two more hits intact.
nicely done
A quick way to put in a flagpole or other pole and make it removable for cutting grass etc., put a piece about 6" long in the ground and then your flagpole in it. I've had this for years because my flagpole is in the middle of my lawn. Just get the correct size for your pole.
Looks like a nice deer feeder lol I got 3 of them and tons of deer eating out of them
+John Reinbold (Outdoorsman) LOL, thanks for the idea
