- The plaintiff says he was a drug addict for years, but he hasn’t touched drugs since his last incarceration in 2014. The plaintiff is suing his friend because he asked her to move his car while he was on vacation, but the defendant reportedly went on a joy ride instead and crashed it. The defendant says she and the plaintiff met in a recovery program, but she is still struggling with her addiction.
I’m a senior in college and I study criminology and psychology. Starting, I had no idea what I wanted to do when I graduate. I’ve decided to assist people who’ve been incarcerated re-enter society. The plaintiff’s story really touched me because a lot of reform doesn’t happen in prison. Thankful for those who help people while they’re incarcerated and helping after they’ve been released. Hopefully, I’ll be able to do the same for others in my community. Good for him!

Judge Mathis is right on point. NA has an antiquated program that they need to upgrade to fit the circumstances of today.
This defendant has no defense for damaging the plantiffs vehicle and should be ordered to repay. She has no legal defense. Hopefully she can get help for her drug addiction.

The plaintiff is a great example for recovering addict! He’s truly working to turn his life around! The defendant admits she’s struggling with her addiction. However. that only goes so far. You must be held accountable for your actions!

Its not the the fact the JM calls people crackheads. Its the frequency that he does it. Sometimes its not called for at all. Also the other day he said that he only knows rehab to work when you do in patient tx for 6 months to a year or more. That might be the experience of the addicts he has delt with . I was opioid addicted for 15 years. And my rehab was 90 days out pt. With no NA or AA meetings. I did some counseling at the rehab center. Its not a one size shoe fits all. And he should speak as such instead of " ill put my stats up against AA" . When did shaming someone make them want to loose weight or stop drugs ?????
Embarrassment can def make an individual change… reality really hits when the world knows you’re a cravkhead yet you’re trynna paint a pretty picture as if people r delusional . Being called fat n embarrassing me when I was younger .. made me tighten up .. now I’m petite n I like it . Gained confidence and was feeling good but not for others.. for myself… I’m this case cravkheads can cause a lot emotional , financial , and physical damage to those around them .. especially fam members . N when they deny hurting others as well as themselves .. that’s when it becomes an issue . When they lie it’s as if they don’t feel like they r doing anything wrong .
