oh my god, that quote at the end. "A fellow bird, an aviation professional once told me an old saying. "A mile of road will take you one mile. a mile of runway will take you anywhere." That's exactly where I want to go." It feels so heartwarming.💖
Hi, so. I'm here because I was watching a recent RegularCars vid and at the end Mr. Regular was like, "Go check out Adler the Eagle, GO subscribe to Adler the Eagle!" So, I'm now subscribed to Adler the Eagle. Also, this was a nice and wholesome vid.
Sees the desc: Me: Airport ✅ KBCT Training: *LOL* Know what a plane is and how to use one: Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Job: ❎ yeah no. Spirit: Hella yeah! Inspiration: this youtube channel Rules: Florida This video is going to be great.
Flying seems like such a glorious thing. Hearing you talk about growing up learning to love flight with your dad got me all emotional, especially the home video at the very end. Made me wanna talk to my dad to see how he’s doing right after, it was nice to have a conversation for the first time in a while with my dad. Thanks Adler for reminding us to always help someone smile every day, looking forward to future content as always!
Nostalgic seeing you fly in a Piper! Took my own intro flight with the same model 2 or so years ago in College, and now here I am a bit down the road starting military flight training (I don’t think I’ll be suiting in our planes anytime soon lol)! Really fun video with a great message!
Man, you talking about your dad and the Ultralights reminds me of my dad and our times at the beach. We took a beach vacation down at the outer banks, NC almost every year because my dad loved going to the beach. I didnt look fondly on those days because I was a kid and it was just a vacation, but when he passed away a few years ago, its all I could think about and I try to go for a beach vacation every year after that. Excellent job Adler and hope you continue doing what makes ya happy!
Man I am late to watching this video, but I am so glad I got to it eventually. It's been a while since I've been in the air but every time I feel like I belong up there; the view is amazing and the freedom feels amazing. If I wasn't a broke college student I could get myself into a plane, but alas. Thanks for sharing your amazing content with the world.
Mentioning that crafts engine just took me back. I grew up in the town that makes those engine, my father worked for the company and my grand father owned a piper super cub with a Lycoming engine in it; reliable workhorses! If I had to guess I'd say that's a cessna?
There's nothing more liberating than the feeling of flying. Being behind the yoke of an aircraft makes me feel like there's nowhere I can't go! (That is if you forget all of the FAA regulations, lol)
What a cute story Adler, love it. You look like a very nice guy to talk and be with 😊 What beautiful memories come to us when we remember our past. Some taught us and others we carry in our hearts forever, and on our way we build more 😊
Gotta say I'm a little surprised you took a flight in a Piper PA-28 as opposed to a more typical high wing aircraft like a Cessna 150/152 or Cessna 172. Glad you took a discovery flight! I still need to do the same at some point. You should absolutely look into EAA's AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI. It has something for everyone, and when I went in 2019, there were over 15,000 aircraft in attendance. It was amazing!
You should get your PPL dude Extra challenge mode: pass your checkride while wearing the eagle suit Then when people make the joke if you can fly, whip out that pilot's license
While I'm not much of an airplane person, this video really captures a very good feeling of anyone doing something courageous. It makes the video a bit relatable, given I'm trying to make it in college as well as learn how to drive. I will say, the funny part of this is the hidden "OwO" in aviation code, Oscar Whiskey Oscar. I love it Keep being awesome & most importantly, keep on flying, Adler!
That is a wonderful and inspiring video. Thank you for spreading your positive and uplifting (pun intended) message with us. Now for the nerdy question, on that great shelf of flight related ephemera behind you (at 3:43), is that an FDR (Flight Data Recorder) or CVR (Cockpit Voice Recorder)? I was just wondering.
Im a huge aviation fan and im getting very good at flight simulators now, but im still terrified of flying irl. This is exactly what i needed to hear thank you.
That is a heaps cool video you made. And even though that I was going to make a star fox reference in the comment. I decided not to as I think in reality, I know you couldn’t as it’d be too dangerous to. But if anyone teased you that you are a bird and you can’t fly without some machine, you are not the first bird nor one of prey that needed a plane to fly Adler. As Falco Lombardi had beaten you to it as the first bird that flys any aircraft.
Hmm the ultra light reminds me of the old Gyrocopters my step dad would build and fly. I never flown in them . The idea of being up in the air in a chair didn’t sit well with me
This video was awesome, a few good years back I began to take irl flying lessons, tho had to stop sadly due to the expenses involved. These days I fly on a flight simulator called Xplane 11, which sure doesn't beat real life flying, but unlike real life, I can actually fly any aircraft that is on the simulator. I tend to mostly fly the Boeing 757/767's. Someday however, I will go back to flying irl at some point, as I do miss it. If anyone is ever given the chance to go on an aircraft, I strongly recommend doing so, because it can lead to a lifelong love of aviation.
Oh Adler, this was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL video, and unexpectedly emotional! A few years back I had the amazing opportunity to fly in a tiny plane in fursuit as well, and it was truly one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I literally cried with joy, the feeling of being up in the air like that was so different than flying in a large plane, and I still get emotional when I think about that day. Would absolutely recommend anyone give it a try if the opportunity arises(fursuit or not, haha!). Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful story and adventure with us. 💖
Very nice video Adler. I wish I had these moments with my pop. Something's tugging at me though. Is this video a memoir to your dad and did he pass away? I'm sorry if not, it just feels like a remembrance.
Hey Adler! I'm writing a fan comic about you and I had a question. I sent you a message on Patreon with a reference link. It'll be from Austin Wells. Thanks!
One of your best videos so far! Keep up the great work, Adler :> Should definitely give one of these small planes a try, looks like you a had a lot of fun in the air!

RCR fan checking in; about to binge watch every video on your channel.
The timbre and pacing of your dad's voice matches yours so well. Such a wholesome ending!
According to the number on the plane, N2635Q, it's a 1977 Piper PA-28-161 C/N 28-7716115.
But to make it easier, it's a Piper PA-28-161 Cherokee.
You're narrating this like an uncle who just sent their nephew a postcard.
I hope this is a good thing! I have one sort of nephew so I guess this counts!
Really incredible video, this was amazing to watch and must have even more amazing to do! Really heartfelt message too, loved the ending!

The fact that adler can fly perfectly while in fullsuit is so wild, mad respect for this guy
Something about the presentation of this video gives me big “early 90s PBS Kids educational shorts” vibes.
