I have an avata 2. Was having so much fun within 5 minutes of using it. No training. Skimming tops of trees, and inches above the local reservoir and fields. Between branches, through playground equipment, any obstacles I can find.
It's so much fun I take it in the car with me everywhere and it literally takes 90 seconds from opening the case to getting in the air. 45 seconds to replace battery and get back in air.
My brother, son, grandson and sister were able to fly it in minutes and were laughing their heads off.
Crashed it over 20 times and broke nothing. Crashed a mile away and used turtle mode to flip it right way up and take off.
I know I sound like a dji salesman but it is just so much FUN. I don't want to do crazy acrobatics, I want to have fun and take smooth, fast fpv cinematic footage. The avata 2 seems to be great at that.

Same. Started on the Avata 2 and am now blasting around in sports mode with the motion controller for the FPV potato. Going to practice in the simulator for awhile before I move to full manual mode for both plus i still need the RC controller 3 for the Avata 2.

Is it really that durable? I had a DJI Mini 3 as my first drone, and it couldn't survive like a 10 feet fall from crashing into tree branches. I broke my first one, sent it for repairs, and they sent back a new one for no cost. Half a year later, I finally crashed it after all that time. Roughly same height and also tree branches, it broke as well. This time, it didn't look like nothing was really damaged, but it no longer power on. Sent it in, had to pay repair fees, and then they sent back a new drone again. I ended up just selling it to someone. It was too fragile for my liking.

I do agree using the avata drones are the best way to get up in the air quickly and get going with fpv. I've stated that in my other videos about the avata drones. however having flown the avata drones and 5 inch drones there's absolutely no comparison between the performance levels when it comes to chasing, diving down cliffs and flying in high winds which when you go to many of these places that have high mountains or ridges or waterfalls the wind conditions can be crazy and having a ducted avata or avata 2 the performance level is barely usable compared to an un-ducted powerful 5 inch quad that can just cut through the wind to fly lovely and smooth and give a nice enjoyable flying experience. For diving it's the same, having a 6s 5 inch quad you will be able to catch your quad at the bottom of the dive closer to the ground better than an avatar drone giving you a more dynamic shot. Also the avata drones come with the DJI fpv radio which again if you use any other fpv radio out there you will see how much better the gimbals are for finer controls such as the tango 2 or mambo.
I'm not trashing the avata drones in anyway as I use them myself and have often said if I can only carry around one fpv drone around with me for quick shots while travelling it would be the avata as they are the easiest to use as you said, have less footprint in the bag and have the best battery life. But if you want to go to that next level of fpv I really recommend to also be looking into a 5 inch bnf drone that fly's better in more adverse conditions and allows for more acrobatic movements

This is great info and kind of did all this a year ago although in the cheap side of it lol but it is absolutely overwhelming for a total beginner. I spent many many hours studying and researching all this info (Joshua B., etc😂) in different places and although it is not rocket science it is A LOT to learn to just fly a whoop around. Let alone all the battery knowledge. I recently sold all that you are recommending now and i am about to go with the dji avata 2, so much simple and to be honest, a lot cheaper than building your own. Still great info here and loving your channel. Thanks mate.

Thanks for watching mate! Yeh it's a learning curve for sure but as you say not rocket science, if I can do it I'm pretty sure anyone can. Yeh the avata 2 looks pretty sweet but it's still a cinewhoop at the end of the day so not gonna be great for all use cases, I'll look to grab one at some point if nothing else just for the amazing new camera

Hey just found you. Crazy good video. Insane editing. Made me laugh. Instant sub. Only criticism is not telling beginners about the 4 main different fpv systems. Analog (slightly outdated imo but still usable with lower latency), dji, hdzero, and walksnail. But only a minor thing. 10/10 video.

at 5:27 your specs sheet is wrong in a couple of places, the integra goggles have 100hz screens (they can switch to 60hz tho, which is probably what you meant), the goggles 2 are 51 degrees FOV and more of a nitpick but I think saying the integra is heavier compared to others is a bit misleading because of the built in battery. The other goggles need a seperate battery.

Avata is a good place to start for sure. If you mainly fly in locations that don't have too much wind or you're not interested in doing any chasing, diving or freestyle then avata is a sure bet but otherwise I'd say learn how to fly a customer bind and fly drone

Do not buy the goggles 3 unless you get them part of the Avata 2 package. They only work exclusively with the Avata 2 at the moment, and some non FPV drones.
They still don't work with 03 air units. I have them as part of the Avata 2 package. I'm feeling kind of stuck, because I can't fly anything else until the patch comes.

I currently have 2 sets of DJI goggles. The V2 Goggles, that I got with my DJI FPV Drone, & I bought the Goggles Integra Motion 2 Combo, for my AIR 3 & Mini 4 Pro. I have the Avata 2 Fly Combo on the way, so I'll have the Goggles 3 soon. Ive only flown my FPV drone in sport mode, so I haven't learned Acro yet. Is there any pre built Longe Range Digital FPV quads, that have 30 minute flight times, & at least 2-3 Miles of range? I plan on getting on a sim & learning. I love my DJI FPV Drone, but the flight time in sport mode is like 10 minutes.
