We learned about everything that happened in Europe, and of course the bombings in Japan. But outside of Pearl Harbor, there was never any mention of the operations in the Pacific. Not even Iwo Jima, with the iconic photo of the flag being raised. Relearning the history on RUclips has been fascinating.
Fun fact. That was a fake foto. The original flag that was raised was quite small so an officer commanded to troops to get a bigger one for the foto. The united states goverment has used that foto and kept the old one hidden for. Propoganda purpouses

As far as I recall, after nuclear bombs were dropped USA still had to bomb Japan for some more time as they were actually less destructive than regular carpet bombing, leaving most of suburban areas and city outskirts intact. The last air raid specifically had happened on 15th of August, about a week later after the second nuke was dropped

A lot of lend lease went to the USSR who invaded Poland from the East 2 weeks after Germany had invaded Poland from the West.
