I'm no clean freak, but I don't know how anyone lets it get that bad. I've seen some of the old appliances from my building awaiting pickup and it boggles my mind how 1) people manage to physically break them as much as they do and 2) how they let something they use every day get that nasty. I probably don't want to know what they've found inside those units...
I get why people let their places get that bad.. mental issues, never had a role model keeping a clean house, depression, etc. But what makes no sense to me is inviting over a service person who you know records everything for RUclips. If you know it will become a video and still don't clean up... Wow
@@LatitudeSky you really DON'T get why people let it get this bad. The man clearly is ill and his wife as well. Their only option would be to hire someone or have family help. I, like Steve, work alone. I’m busy enough to pick my customers. Sometimes when things are this bad, you just tell them like it is. These type of customers are not going to make you rich. I went to a basement once that smelled like cat piss and was full of garbage. I told them to call me back after they clean up. F them if they can’t hear the truth. "wouldnt be too worried about the filters in this place" absolutely golden lmao asthma problems and lives like that... wonder why... holy crap that bathroom, my god.
Those were young turkey vultures as adults their wingspan is about 9'-12' wide. easy to identifier by the black and silver on the bottom of their wings.
Multimeter would have been handy to check out if the flame sensor or more likely the pressure switch was the culprit. Couldn't see if the last burner was lit when it went out on camera but I've seen plenty of crossover blockages also as I'm sure you have also. You were in a good mood and it was a classic video here!!
They moved in 2005. Last time that bathroom was cleaned too. All I can say, there aren’t enough gloves in the box for me to touch that biohazard. The power wash needed and the prior filter comments made it all worthwhile. 😂
Same type of Goodman here, early 2000. Had fun with the inducer motor. Wiggled the connecting leads as Steve does here and the inducer started. Tied a Twistie tie around the leads in a manner to keep it operating until I got a new inducer. Nothing wrong with the inducer itself, just something at its electric coil wiring. Had to junk the inducer because the coil had a dumb connection defect. It was not that old. He better stop and pick up a couple of Hazmat suits for those toilet jobs or for that matter, the rest of the house. If you inhale, ??
"Pressure wash that toilet!" LMFAO! Tumeric is good but you can`t overdo it: side effects..."headaches, upset stomach, the shits, dizziness and increased risk of kidney stone formation".

We change the filters monthly cuz my wife has asthma. I darn near fell off my chair! I also "really like" "not" that Goodman even on the newer furnaces, if you can't see through the window to read the codes, your outta luck. As soon as you open the fan door the circuit board has no power and you loose the code.
Hey those thermostats have a 3 deg. Temp difference so when way off they will shut off and never get to the high setting AKA if at 70 and its 55 it will only take to 58 then cut off and have to get to 55 again to kick back on so will never catch up have to set at 58, turn on unit by hand, then when gets turn up to 61 then set to 64 turn back on by hand Etc. Till get to a 3 deg differences l! I know cause mine did it and I talked to Honeywell and thats what they said to do !! as well as we went through the internal setting to make sure was set for my unit. Took awhile but after got to the 3 deg differential it has worked fine!
Look at that fiberglass insulation being sucked in to the blower wheel restricting air flow yeah effecting the pressure switch blow it out with pressure can of air blow thru the hoses change the filter Test Mode
Holy dirty ass! I wonder if they even clean they're selves after seeing the toilet. He probably does have a vacuum cleaner but it's under everything else. Good job Steve, I can see why you wear gloves.
Over the years found many people shutting down registers. In the name of saving money or furniture over registers. Most homes do not have enough registers, short air flow . A lot of guys oversize systems. Not good. Have a good day.
Hi Steve, Keep getting air in my hot water baseboard (oil broiler). I'm going to change the watts duovent valve.... Do I use dope or is just teflon tape ok? Thanks

It's good Steve got a code for the vacuum switch. It wasn't the hot surface ignitor, the furnace always lit, it wasn't the venting or the chimney. It may have been the flame sensor, those don't work on temperature, they rely on the control board sending an AC voltage to the flame sensor, the sensor has to always be inside the flame (close doesn't count), the flame itself rectificises the AC voltage to a DC voltage (using a little know physics property of a flame), then from the flame, through all of the metalwork connections, back to where the control board ground connects the the gas assembly, then the control board checks if the AC was converted to DC (rectification). if the furnace jiggles a little and the current path is lost - the control board will shut the gas valve until the furnace restarts again, if there's a bad connection anywhere along the way the control board shuts the gas off, a multimeter isn't really going to help here, just make sure all of the connections are clean and tight. Those problems are difficult to find, many guys don't understand how it's suppose to work, they end up replacing the control board, and with some luck the connections from the flame sensor back to ground somehow get reconnected.
I'd question the control board too. Seems like when Goodman control boards go bad they spit out all kinds of error codes. I would of liked to of seen the microamps on the flame sensor after it was cleaned.
MAYBE..... I OILED THE BERRINGS ON WAY OUT WITH TRANY OIL ... SECOND TIME I WAS THERE IT GAVE A 3 BLINK CODE GOING OUT AT NIGHT AFTER I TAPED THE DOOR SWITCH .SO I COULD REMOVE DOOR AND NOT LOOSE CODE .. I THINK ITS THE PRESSURE SWITCH ,, SO I CHANGED IT OUT .HAD ONE IN THE TRUCK .

Lmao when he said powerwash the toilet!!!! Steve rocks!!!
nasty toilet dont think clean since moved in either lol
Cleanest thing in there is the furnace.
They should try running a vacuum cleaner occasionally!!

the goodman Furnace Says CLEAN THE HOUSE OR ELSE, then it shuts down..
Holly shit!!! You need to power wash the toilet. I almost had root beer coming out of my nose. Choked me up.
Calmed my anxiety once again. Even with that nasty toilet. Very entertaining
i wanted to reach through the screen and pull that insulation away from the blower housing, could be restricting airflow

I would put a pleated filter at the unit and a Foam Filter at the Return Grills

When changing a capacitor only replace with one with same micro farads or GREATER MICRO FARADS NEVER LESS
