Hi, what is the reason why the dual range version won't work w. digital cameras? Does this count for digital Leica only or is this generally the case? THX in advance
It is the large cam on the underside of the Dual Range lens that will interfere with either interior baffles and/or the rangefinder armiture. We don't understand the second question. Write us at dan@tamarkin.com or call 1-800-289-5342 to learn more.
@@dantamarkin9133 Thank you for your response. Your explanation is understood and well taken. The second part of my question was referring to using this lens on any other non Leica digital camera. However, I got sorted it out. Thanx again.
I had an M3 and DR Cron and boy, what a lens. I sold the kit (I also had a the 90 Cron and 21/3.4 SA) due to financial need. But that whole kit was pretty special.
good explanation of the dual range capability of the lens, can they fit on the m 5 rangefinder cameras (does the goggles fit onto the larger body of this camera as compared with the m 2 that you show it on in this video) , thanks.
Yes. It functions as the standard Summicron until the focus ring is lifted over the tab, as he shows in the video. Then it focusses only within the near range.
We had a M2 with collapsible Summicron in the Sixties. My boss tried it and then went back to his Rolleiflex. It was sold and I went back to my Linhof 6x9 with the awesome Schnieder lenses. And now idiots are all over these. One important note is that to create 20 x16 inch prints you need medium format cameras. Get it. I can shout it still even though I am 72 years old
I love how Shine on You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd is playing in the background lmao
Impressed by the conditions of the items and the beautiful packages!
I have both the 50mm summicron and the dual range. The dual range is amazing

great video! very informative. really want to have one with that condition. Subbed.
summicron rigid is my pic on that m2 press. are you selling any ?
We do have those lenses available from time to time: www.tamarkin.com/products/m-series/lenses#used-section
cool, what's your selection for a used 50mm for under 2k ?
The dual range works fine on my M10 and SL2.
Forgot to add - It's an M mount.
Can you use the duel on the M6?
Usually you can. We strongly recommend only mounting the lens when at Infinity in the Normal focus range so that the camera is not damaged.
i would like to buy the leica camera and that last lense the rigid summerciron and the googles thing are you selling this what is the price

Will the lens focus at regular distances without the goggles?
Yes. It functions as the standard Summicron until the focus ring is lifted over the tab, as he shows in the video. Then it focusses only within the near range.
