I do like the idea of getting a new crate motor from the factory if the old one is worn out👍😀

8:08 yep I had a 2000 Jeep with the 4.0. I was max towing with is about everyday. I towed a car from Ft Lauderdale FL to Durham NC using a full-length car hauler, no problem. I let it sit a my gma house. Transmission went out, and I had just bought another Jeep. B4 ppl talk junk bc my transmission went out, it was never serviced and had 190+k miles on it. Mind you I towed and would off road, including driving on the on the beach in NC. Anyways, it sat for about six months. I was about to get it towed to my friends shop. I opened the door and mold was everywhere. The weather strip had fallen on the passenger side. Letting water in. The carpet was soaked and in NC the summers get hot. Had mold all in the air vents, all over the chair, head liner, pretty much wherever you can see it had mold. So I had to junk it. 😢

Really? The 4.0 Jeep is RATED to tow 5,000# MAX. So unless your car hauler is a 7,000#, rated to haul 5,000# on it, and you put NO MORE than a 3,000# vehicle on it, you have exceeded the Jeep's rating. I have, and you could tow with, a dolly, and not exceed the tow rating. I use it to tow towable junk cars. I have a 10k trailer capable of carrying 7,500# and tow w/ a Chey dually w/ a Cad 500. 16 mpg towing w/ a purpose-built Cad 500.

Replace instead of repair? The R&R cost alone @ $200/hr is at least a grand. Tell me it was more than that to replace the cam and lifters.
Here in MI we would scrap it due to rust before replacing an engine. My truck is from AL, not driven in salt

Hey TJ, where did you get that remanufactured motor? I was thinking about getting one for my charger 3.6 L.
