This is just fantastic. From the fuel kart reminiscent of a geriatric hospital, to checking engines thrust and burning hands, to throwing ear protection off to the ground with hurry, and the model flying like a swarm of a million angry bees. Just incredible! Nice job.
NEVER ask a German Engineer this, unless you have 5 hours to listen INTENTLY, and a FIRM understanding of: Aerodynamics, Structural Engineering, Geopolitical Ramifications of the Second World War, and how to operate a Slide Rule at EXPERT level. Then and ONLY THEN may you venture to "Ask". 🤣
They sure did. The Me 328 with two. And the Heinkel He 280 with at different times four and even six argus pulse jets! Incidentally it was in this that the first ever use of an ejection seat occured when it was being towed by an He 111 to altitude (the pulse jets had to be moving at speed to be lit) the towing cables hitch release froze shut and the pilot Helmut Schenk used the bang seat and lived to tell the tale.
It doesn't reach the speeds of the single jet ones though, as many have commented and the video owner agrees. The reason being the extra drag the extra engines and fuel tanks add. I think this lack of power available to provide forward propulsion commensurate with a single engine, translates to inability to carry the same payload. This would have made the payload the German jets were able to deliver to London smaller. Less bang for a lot more Deutschmarks, even if the sound was a lot cooler at least.
Agree, but it was difficult to see it in flight as it blended into the background of the sky/clouds. Also looked like the camera had trouble tracking it.
if you haven't heard and seen one of these in real life, you should try to see one. Best chance are RC Club summer events. It is mind boggling how such small engines can make so much noise. these days in France and Germany you often need special permissions to let them fly as they are so noisy, hence the RC summer events.
wooooooweeee!!! What kinda speed is that doing? Must be at least 250 mph. Imagine what it must have been like for the pilot flying the twin argus pulse jet engined Messerschmitt Me 328? Apparently the vibration was to much so it didn't really work out.
That would be hard to fly, I kept losing sight of the plane in the sky just watching it I can’t imagine how you can keep it in sight while flying this plane.
When I flew RCs my biggest issue was knowing when I ran out of fuel and the engine stopped. Only could tell by the way it handled not the sound. No problem with that thing.
Hey brutha maybe a more appropriate color would make it easier to see you know something loud that really stands out .. because I can't see it until its over head
Bonjour, Belle machine.
For interest Mach 1 speed , The speed of sound (Mach 1) varies with altitude and temperature. If an aircraft is travelling at the speed of sound at sea-level then its speed will be 661 knots (760 miles per hour) or if it is travelling at the speed of sound at 30,000 feet then its speed will be 589 knots (677 miles per hour). Just for those thinking that this had anything to do with this models speed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any conventional rc model has approached the speed of sound yet.

Great piloting and camera tracking, wonderful aircraft, well done.

C'est assez incroyable. Bravo
Very close to the XB-70 in appearance. Amazing flight control and sound!

FORMIDABLE Grand bravo aux concepteurs!
Kudos.Great skills in handling this awesome craft.

Even more stunning than the last pulse jet Vid I just watched!
Good job, smooth set up and flying👍

The pilot brilliantly mastered this beast. However the noise is infernal.
That thing is mental but like all those pulse jets very fuel thirsty
Holy smoke! What an incredible sound.
