Always enjoy it when Survival Skills and Others with Mike Reed fires up his forge. Very informative content and here Mike takes us step-by-step in the knife making process used by blacksmiths for many years. Mike swings a big hammer in forging these blades. Excellent craftsmanship and instruction demonstrated in this episode. The finished product replicates knives made and used on the American frontier years ago. Still very functional for skinning, game processing and woods craft skills today, these hand forged carbon steel knives are strong and easily sharpened. This knife features a deer leg bone handle, which is a traditional material that would be readily available on the frontier. Durable and very functional. Thanks to Mike Reed for taking us along as he creates this knife that is reminiscent of those carried by the pioneer woodsmen on the American frontier. God bless and best wishes. - Tennessee Smoky
