If you thinking about getting one, just get it. I flew to another city to get mine and embarked on a 14 hour trip back home. Half was through heavy rain. The car performed brilliantly. I have it in yellow too and people stare at it constantly with the occasional compliment.
Great review. I Like your format where you start driving straight away without talking about cup holders and other super boring stuff . Other reviewers would do well to follow your format.
Great review. I've been driving one of these since August last year. Like most Suzuki's it makes more power than the figures suggest. The Japanese recently tested the car on regular and premium fuel. Drained the tank and dyno'd the car between tests. They found that the car actually has 165 HP when running on premium fuel. The car has an 'adaptive ECU'. Anyway, totally agree with your review. It is still a performance bargain in my opinion, plenty quick enough and thoroughly entertaining handling. The punch out of roundabouts is a right giggle. With Suzuki's reliability record as well, what's not to like. Love it.
I have the exhaust HKS Hi Power Spec L because standard sound is really quiet.Next update are the springs of H & R that 35mm lowering front and back.I have a lot of fun with the car and the torque low in revs is top. What do you mean with premium fuel. Here we have gasoline with 95 or 98 octane.
Doesnt have artificial sound. Good. If I had a Golf R, the first thing id ask the dealer to do is disconnect the soundaktor device. Id rather hear muted or natural exhaust sound than fake crap. People also have to realise, and im old enough to remember owning cars with aftermarket sports exhausts, they make a LOT more noise when cruising on the motorway. The Abarth 595 has a constant rumble and although I love the sound, at motorway speeds on long journeys, after a while you kind of wish it was a bit quieter. Id rather have the power and better refinement at speed if I was getting a car long term. This Suzuki seems a good all rounder and im sure the driving experience more than makes up for loud noises pumped into the cabin. Great review mate.
Stumbled across the channel. Love these little hot hatches and did a review myself on the previous gen. CRACKING LITTLE CAR. Best of luck with the channel dude
@@oddities-whatnot its where you have a open pipe from the exhaust at the engine block all the way to the back of the car no mufflers just an open pipe
I’ve just bought the swift sport all be it in red 😂, had to comment to say I’ve watched 10+ reviews on the car and in my opinion your review was the best overall start to finish... great job Suzuki
Test driven one. Way more fun than a Mini and you're right, it IS lighter and far, far more chuckable around the corners. More toys on-board and of course, Suzuki Cars' legendary reliability. Downside? No Android Auto. But there are too many positives with this car to ignore it. Seriously, get one.
TheSaintST1 the Mini is awful, tested one last year and the seat position terrible for me, and the ride quality shocking. Overpriced as well, AND not reliable. Suzuki the best small hot hatch.
I own the Swift sport since 4 Months. I spent him 170 hp and 270 NM torque. Now with this setting , that is the ultimative sportcar. Acceleration 0 -100 under 6 sec. In the 3 Gear, from 70 - 180 km in under 6 sec. Such a fantastic car. I love him.
@Johnston Wang Just like the Suzuki sport 1.6 i own. they claim 0-100 within 8.7 secs, i made it within about 7.5 i use all season tires. image using the proper sport tires and adding turbo. 5 seconds would be possible.
I have the automatic version, with exactly the same specifications, and it has a proper 6 speed torque converter gearbox with paddle shifters, which react very quickly. Here in Australia I have only seen one or 2 others. The automatic is an additional $2000 and every colour except white is an additional $500. So, the white automatic costs $27,490.00. I bought a blue one.
In europe the cooper S's price is nowhere near close to that of the suzuki swift sport. The closest in terms of price is the Fiesta ST, which is still more expensive with a few thousand euros.
Great review and interesting format too. I have a swift 1.0 turbo and its still a lot of fun and the engine note is actually sportier than in the sport. I love its Mini like upright, curved windscreen and am surprised no reviewer mentions this. It makes it so easy to place the car on the road.
yea i have tested the swift 1.0 turbo, and quite amazed by its engine note especially downshifting with the paddle shifters. In the end, i went for the swift sport 1.4M because of the manual option. Swift sport has slightly better suspension system. Both are great cars in my opinion.
@@prepaidport3118 sport is much better than 1.0. Looks beautiful too. In my country import duties are very high and the 1.0 was around 25k usd. The sport will be double that due to being 1400cc. You guys are so lucky in the west to have reasonable car prices. Enjoy !
My city doesn't even have real highways and the fastest road I drive on has a 90km/hr limit. I suspect this car would be plenty fast for me. They look nice with a few mods.
@@bigheadcarreviews1989 Good to know! Highly consider this as my new fin but at the same time practical daily driver. Best of both worlds and better value than fiesta ST and VW Polo GTI. And it looks better IMO :)
The fuel economy isn’t that great, my 208 gtline has a stage one tune, 160 bhp 300 nm and I regularly get 53 mpg, the best I have achieved was 66.8 mpg on the m25 not so long ago.👍

When a car is cheap and has performance it gets extra points in my book.

@@HILLAERTJURGEN In your case, 98 octane would be premium. I use 99 octane in the UK.
I have been running one of these , in yellow of course and agree totally , fantastic car.
I have 100 octane in malaysia..
omg cant wait too get mine in june( flaming red with grey stripes and hks excaust)
How is it so far?
"yeah but my 3 series diesel..." got me that one 🤣🤣 love the swift and the review mate earned a sub

for the running costs, not only does it have good fuel economy, but its road taxes are really low because of its weight

Fantastic value, well done Suzuki. Great review big H.
Spot on with everything, it also has brake assist. I have this car in yellow of course, and straight piped it to make the exhaust sound as it should.

What is straight piped ? Not heard that before im genuinely interested cheers

This was the only review I found that showed me the lane assist in action. :-)

I own a ZC33S but I got the Latinamerican version and it does come with Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
The 8 second thing is very soft from Suzuki. Everyone who pulls get around 7-7,2. I managed 6,7 on stock car
Yeah right. 7.5 maybe…

Really great review! I'm between this an Ibiza Evo and I think this has swayed me towards wanting the Swift. Just next to none for sale at the moment.

Had the previous version which was good fun. Test drove this one and it’s a step up but can’t hold a candle to the new ST
More chance of the Ford going wrong though
